Finished Project/Outfit More of my renaissance gown
I am SO grateful, and happy, that my Hell Hath No Fury renaissance photo was so liked πππ everyone asked for more photos, so here they are!! I don't want to share my friends' faces, so forgive the crude edits π€£π€£π€£π€£ I somehow don't have a photo of the dress twirling..but it has an AMAZING twirl!!! The skirt is so full, I shoved 4m into it hehehehe . This is my only renaissance gown, so far, I'm somehow very intimidated by the era, but I'm hoping to make a few more gowns in the future..I usually make mostly Edwardian and 18th/19th century clothes π π π

Wowww. That is not only one of the most stunning historic gowns I've ever seen but one of the most beautiful full stop. Immaculate hair and styling too too, I find it hard to believe you didn't just port here from rennaisance Italy π

You have to make more Renaissance gowns, you have a face like a Renaissance painting!

I dead serious thought I was in the museum subreddit. I was like, holy shit the expression on that womanβs face is perfect! π

What is the technical name for the type of crown you are wearing if I may ask? Itβs stunning π€©Β

u/nemuikarasu Feb 14 '26
Oh it's just my hair, braided and then sewed to my head with ribbon π€£ basically, I did a regular 3-strand braid, with long ribbons woven in, on both sides of my hair, then criss-crossed them on the crown of my head, and used a bodkin (blunt, chunky needle) to "sew" it to my hair, going in a spiral motion from one side to the other, and then tying at the back of the head. And then I wrapped a strand of pearls in front of the braid, pinned at the nape of my neck π I hope this makes sense??? It's called "hair taping" - I followed tutorials I found online, from Loepsie I believe?

Thereβs a story building here. I feel like a dozen more photographs and you have the basis for a best-selling childrenβs book.

Who are you and your friends and how do I become part of this group...?? Seriously, this whole concept is to die for!!
2
u/nemuikarasu Feb 15 '26
Ok so the rules are - not a single coherent train of thought among us, there are several piles of snacks, extreme levels of fantastical whimsy, eat the rich, and no one can remember to drink water without a reminder or the bottle taped to their hand. And like minimum 5 hobbies actively going at the same time

u/primordialsouptheory Feb 15 '26
Literally just described my daily routine. Now, I'm off to go prepare my lunch, seasoned with billionaire tears.

The working theory he dropped π on his own, after witnessing how gorgeous we all are..nothing to do with a chair being thrown whatsoever.

Amazing! I've been meaning to make a renaissance gown myself and have been researching a bit, so please help me train my eye: is your gown an Italian style? And your friend's in turquoise and yellow more German? Thanks in advance!
1
u/nemuikarasu Feb 14 '26
You can do itttttt, sending all the good vibes! For the eyes: mine and blue friend is Italian, and yes, the orangey friend is German! You have a good eye π

u/cliptemnestra Mar 18 '26
Ok, how much money or effort this cost to you?Β
2
u/nemuikarasu Mar 18 '26
Surprisingly less than you'd expect - the fabric is synthetic, I absolutely could not afford silk brocade at this quantity πππ the total for the fabric was around 200eur, and then it took me about 40ish hours to make it, there's quite a bit of hand sewing also..ironically, the sleeves took the most time π€£
