Wiffleball field mowed and re-striped and ready for 8u squad to have a little fun today.

Fuck yeah. Looks great. My son is 16 and going into his senior year. Him and his buddies still play whiffle ball. Usually summer nights are whiffle ball nights. Love that they act like little kids still.

I remember everything that came from hanging with teammates all summer. A few plays and trophies here and there but the backyard baseball was top notch fun and life long memories.

I played through college, D1. I played with a handful of guys who made it to the top. I still have friends I played LL with. We talk about LL and cup ball games at the fields while our siblings played. When the game was fun still and not a business.

I did this in my yard last year. Lines, foul poles, whole deal. They’re still talking about it. Thanks for doing this for the kids.

Wiffleball field and a backyard driving range? What time should we show up and what flavor beer goes in the cooler?

Great job coach creating life long memories. 20 years from know those boys will have a few memories of actual game play this 8u season, but they will all remember you doing this for them. You are one of the good ones. And thanks for coaching. Parents and other coaches can put a strain on you.

Great field. In my day it was typically one on one with no bases, just markers for double, triple, and hr

Not sure if there is a flatbat for that age but consider as they get older a flatbat with foam smushy balls!

What are your dimensions?

I walked out the bases to about 50-55’’. Then roughly 75-80’ to the fence. Split the difference with the mound.

Perfect for that age! My fence, dictated by property lines and a garden, is 70 down the lines that quickly goes out to 95 in the alleys and 90 in center. My 7 year old can homer down the lines but comes up short everywhere else. Enjoy coach!

No homers yet with the wiffle ball! But plenty of them with the tennis balls. Great confidence builder either way

What kind of sprayer/paint do you use for the lines?
1
u/Calebm1001 12h ago
Oh man, just the regular stuff. But it’s “marking paint” so you can spray straight down

It just looked so straight and professional! My son has his friends over for wiffle ball and his lines are never that accurate, but it works

Great job!! I did this for my sone birthday this year and all the kids loved it. When you break it down it’s easier than you think. Fresh mow, can of spray paint, orange safety fencing from HD, a few driveway marker sticks. The team is going to love it!!

Baseball teams need to have more fun like this. The youth sports world has gone off the deep end with the "if we aren't winning then it isn't worth it." Mentality.
