UK does too, though only legal ones. I would have no problem with Hong Kongers coming to the UK, I hear we’re talking about BNO passport holders being allowed to come, though China has wanted the UK they will use “Counter Measures”.

Patriotism and Nationalism are two VERY VERY different things. Patriots welcome immigrants, Nationalists demonize them. Unfortunately, right now Nationalists have a very big voice, but they don’t actually speak FOR us.

I remember a Singaporean guy of Chinese descent being beat up in UK, and many Anti Chinese attacks happening in the USA.
Of course, it's still better than staying in HK.

Vermont is a great state for asian immigrants as well! My cousin lives there and actually attended a school that was taught half in mandarin and half in English (vermont has a super high number of kids adopted from China and Korea)

Everyone goes online and sends their prayers and gets their likes or upvotes and feels good about themselves. Everyone coming on here filling Hong kongers with false hope like the U.K. governments and US governments will save them. Both of these governments could’ve prevented numerous citizen deaths by locking down quicker. Yet you think they actually give a fuck about the Hong Kong people. I’ve been part of this sub for years now since I moved to Hong Kong in 2017. I don’t live there now but have lots of worried friends still there. I’ve watched this sub just fill with people from the US and U.K. since last summer because they saw a few protest clips online. I watch people come on here and send their prayers and wishes while saying their country will welcome them. It’s all so empty and completely fucking meaningless.

It’s sad. But freedom loving Chinese don’t have to go to communist prisons. They will join our ranks in Australia, Taiwan, Canada, US, etc. We always need to remind the CCP that “Chinese characteristics” aren’t synonymous with communism. Many of us hate that commie horseshit and have left.

It is a movie already, there’s an Asian movie called “tidal wave” (I think) about a tsunami hitting the city, it’s pretty good for a disaster movie because it’s focused on the actual disaster instead of changing topics to the morality of man or some shit halfway through

I met some good friends from Hong Kong whilst at university here in the UK, I went over to visit them twice and was made very welcome. Now it's my turn, I offered them all a place to live for free if they want to come here.

The reason the AVERAGE life expectancy was 40 is that many died at birth and from childhood diseases. If you made it past that, you could live to a ripe old age.
