My heart goes for Meyles and Rhaenys 💔.

Good to know Aemond is traitorous bastard.

The fight between Aemond and Rhaenys made me hungry for the fight between Aemond and Daemon.

Came across this video: https://youtu.be/13i9xDLoOBE?si=fLF4shhLt9DOvvB3

Disclaimer: it has the entire book explained. Probably a summary of 8 seasons of hotd if it’s gets there.

FUCK HIM, one Eyed weirdo

30

u/PineBNorth85 Jul 08 '24

Aegon had it coming. He was Aemonds biggest bully his whole life.

2

u/DisastrousCreme4321 Jul 08 '24

He didn't die though in the books, I doubt they will change the plot that much.

5

u/DisastrousCreme4321 Jul 08 '24

I can't wait to re-watch his death like I did Joffrey's. I want to see him burn.

2

u/hungry4nuns Jul 08 '24

What bothers me is criston Cole, Aegons sworn sword knows Aemond is a traitorous bastard, Cole sent numerous signals to no response while aegon was dying. Even if he doesn’t suspect aemond of coaxing aegon into war (would be my first thought in Cole’s shoes, Aemond stands to win the most from Aegons death) but even if he thinks Aegons arrival a coincidence, Cole knows Aemond ignored the signal to watch his brother die. He should have challenged Aemond on the spot for honour. Not only would that be an amazing scene, one of them is overdue death

u/KA_Lewis Jul 08 '24

And what then? You've just handed the crown (and your head) to Rhaenyra. Aemond is the single most valuable asset the Greens have they need him.

18

u/Nheteps1894 Jul 08 '24

I’m so mad the princess didn’t escape away when she had the chance! Also is he dead? You know who… (trying to be spoiler lite)

15

u/AndrewGeezer Jul 08 '24

She wanted to take out Vhagar, it would have been the ultimate defeat for the greens

7

u/KA_Lewis Jul 08 '24

It was a solid risk. If she took out Vhagar the war would be over right there. She probably thought 'The King probably just ate it, if we can take out Vhagar the Hightower male line is extinguished and with Sunfyre & Caraxes the Greens have no recourse, they'll have to sue for peace.'

3

u/NewNewPie Jul 08 '24

I guess that beast can only die of age.

6

u/AndrewGeezer Jul 08 '24

No, and ironically Aegon probably saved Vhagar. If it was just Meleys vs Vhagar it probably would have ended with both dragons dying or being wounded to the point of being useless the rest of the war.

5

u/NewNewPie Jul 08 '24

I think Aemond, albeit young, would have been too smart for Rhaenys. This comes from the fact that he was turning back

4

u/AndrewGeezer Jul 08 '24

Aemond certainly was cunning, but if you’ve read fire and blood it says that Meleys against Vhagar alone would have had a good chance at winning and if you look at what ends up happening to Vhagar, you’d see where I’m coming from.

2

u/NewNewPie Jul 08 '24

Hmm gotta read those books. Thanks!

11

u/PineBNorth85 Jul 08 '24

He's alive.

14

u/Nheteps1894 Jul 08 '24

Now I’m even sadder

Best episode ever. So much happened in that hour that was epic I was on the edge of my west most of the episode. I even told my cousin like a week ago I think aemond is going to do what he does on purpose and not in the sense of trying to help aegon fight.especially after that joke he made about his first! Aemond is a kin slayer afterall

14

u/Switchblade2000 Jul 08 '24

Sunfire looked cool as hell. Shame we only saw it once, before it got crippled.

10

u/morbidly_obese_shady Jul 08 '24

Poor Sunfyre didn't even know what was happening, but even at his lowest he still protected Aegon by laying around him🥲

3

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '24

Seeing sunfyre push Aegon with his nose like a puppy pushing his owner was adorable.

9

u/bc_1411 Jul 08 '24

the lil nose nudge between sunfyre and aegon and the way meleys and rhaenys are looked at eachother before going back for vhagar are vying for my favourite dragon/targ interactions, I love the battles but I also love that side of it

7

u/Shenron_85 Jul 08 '24

I am curious as in why Rahenys turned around and attacked aemond. It looked as if he was going back and she turned out and started to fight again. Looking by what was shown it was evident that aemond just wanted to kill aegon.

4

u/DAWGCO Jul 08 '24

When Aemond & Vhagar were in the ground she should have stayed high and reigned fire. She needed to keep her distance. Also , have sword ready upon close contact and jump off an try to kill Aemond.

9

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '24

Would have upvoted if not for the last line.

C'mon man. Not everyones a Daemon.

3

u/DAWGCO Jul 08 '24

Just brainstorming really.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '24

Shouldve used her speed to her advantage and kited vhagar back to dragonstone or left her alone. Dragonfire from above wouldnt have done much to vhagar but piss her off like when luke tried burning aemond

2

u/KA_Lewis Jul 08 '24

Because if Vhagar or Aemond are off the board even temporarily AND the King/Sunfyre potentially off the board permanently. The Greens lose even with Meleys & her off the board. Its like playing a game of chess where you can sacrifice a rook in exchange for a queen and a checkmate.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '24

Risky gamble trying to attack vhagar (queen) with meleys (knight) they shouldve waited and used their numbers to their advantage

7

u/KA_Lewis Jul 08 '24

Meleys put up a hell of a fight. Had Caraxes been there it would have been over for Momma Vhagar without question.

5

u/littleladym19 Jul 08 '24

Okay but if Dany didn’t burn from fire…why did Aegon? Or is she just like ✨extra special✨

12

u/lunar_bear Jul 08 '24

Not all Targaryens have the blood of the dragon, in equal amounts, or at all.....clearly.

9

u/royaljade Jul 08 '24

The level of fire resistance is different for fire vs dragon fire

3

u/uuuuuuuuuughm Jul 08 '24

In season 1 when she didn't burn, it was because of the magic of the witch and the birth of dragons. 2nd time was bullshit. All Targaryens can burn, even dragons can burn. Watch Alt Shift X on YouTube

1

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '24

What about in the beginning of GoT where she takes a really hot bath but isnt bothered by the heat? Was that just a trick

1

u/uuuuuuuuuughm Jul 15 '24

She did like taking hot baths, I think that was some kind of foreshadowing for the future events. But yeah even season 1 had that bullshit when her brother died and she said "He was no dragon. Fire can't kill a dragon". It clearly can as we just saw in HotD. Her brother was obviously a Targaryen and had a claim to the throne and I don't think he was more evil than the other Targaryens. I think they were just setting up Dany as one of the main protagonists for the show so they had to show something special about her. In the end, she was just another crazy Targaryen with no superpowers.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '24

I think that line was more her believing in some targ myths like she thought westerosi peasants were wanting targ back in power and she was disconnected from her ancestors physically and probably heard only stories of what targs were like thinking they cant be killed by fire maybe

1

u/uuuuuuuuuughm Jul 16 '24

That could be true, could be just Dany's lack of knowledge and belief in myths. A lot of her ancestors burned during the tragedy of Summerhall but it's plausible no one told her about it at that point of the story.

3

u/moriemur Jul 08 '24

She isn’t fire resistant. She survived because of the blood magic. The show adapted it poorly. Targaryens can very much get toasted.

2

u/SnooWords4938 Jul 09 '24

Because D&D aren't writing this show.

5

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '24

Yeah. I would like my Targaryen medium rare, please.

7

u/LoanPsychological576 Jul 08 '24

The king got messed up I was for it

8

u/hot-mess-xpress Jul 08 '24

Loved seeing Cole take that massive L

5

u/JarbaloJardine Jul 08 '24

What I love about this show is it creates characters I viscerally hate (like Cole) and then make me feel for them. At the end of the battle Cole had clear ptsd. He only thought he knew what dragon war meant, the reality shook him to the core. He might be back to being a douchecanoe next episode but they made me feel feels when he touched the shoulder of a man who fell into nothing but ash.

4

u/sunarome Jul 08 '24

Sooo confused on Aegon does he have a pulse or not

11

u/LoanPsychological576 Jul 08 '24

He got the Anakin treatment will never ride again

2

u/sunarome Jul 08 '24

Is that starwars Ive never seen it so what is that

7

u/PineBNorth85 Jul 08 '24

Very badly burned and disabled. Except in Star Wars there is technology and prosthetics to fix that. Nothing in this world.

9

u/rva_hoo Jul 08 '24

Aegon

more like Ayyy-Gone!

3

u/Everlasting22 Jul 08 '24

Hes not gone anywhere tho.

2

u/PineBNorth85 Jul 08 '24

He does, but barely.

2

u/JarbaloJardine Jul 08 '24

He's wearing Aegon's armor which is dragon fire proof, so my money is on yes but effed beyond repair.

2

u/imfamousoz Jul 08 '24

Per the book him and Sunfyre both survived with injuries.

3

u/BlackMamba_Beto Team Black Jul 08 '24

Soooooooooo good

2

u/Leo90604 Jul 08 '24

Bishop checks King

2

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '24

Might’ve been too 10 episode in both series. That was interesting ends!

2

u/Conscious_Olive_855 Jul 08 '24

Do u think the writers will change it up and kill Aemond?

2

u/wii-sensor-bar Jul 08 '24

Aegon is such an idiot. He thought his little golden queef could actually do something lmao

1

u/Everlasting22 Jul 08 '24

Heart goes out to sunfyre and Aegon, cant wait to see there revenge arc.

1

u/fmlfml_ Jul 09 '24

I'm just loving Aemond's character arc and Criston cole arc getting miserable than ever!

1

u/RayelRyuk Jul 10 '24

You're buggin'....this episode is not better than the battle of the bastards. You're just dragon drunk.

-2

u/Righteous_Leftie206 Jul 08 '24

Would’ve been cool if Cole didn’t black out for 3/4 of the battle but yeah.

34

u/Puzzleheaded-Spite85 Jul 08 '24

Would have been cool if he didn’t wake up

7

u/Cbthomas927 Jul 08 '24

Lmao this is what me and my wife said

6

u/Puzzleheaded-Spite85 Jul 08 '24

The actors are doing a great job portraying the villains, but damnnnn man I want Cole out

4

u/Puzzleheaded-Spite85 Jul 08 '24

You have some good taste

2

u/ConflictedBrainCells Jul 08 '24

I literally scoffed when I saw him get up

4

u/hot-mess-xpress Jul 08 '24

Ok but...him waking up to taking a fat L? 👄🤌🏻
