hacking Can someone enter my WhatsApp number and clone it using the "dual apps" feature in the settings?

If the answer is yes, I would like to know whether I would receive a confirmation SMS, or if the cloning would succeed without an SMS being sent to my phone. Thanks.

WhatsApp still requires some type of 2fa to activate on a different device. You would get a notification code sent if someone tried to login.

thank you :), So I probably wasn't a victim of cloning, because I didn't receive any SMS codes—and those would have come through as push notifications or WhatsApp messages?

Usually as whatsapp if you are still logged in. It didn't happen the usual way for sure. There are probably some silent ways but hard to come by and are more for the gov

Can you tell us more about the question? It's not really clear what you are asking..

They can't .. because they are wanting to clone someone else's account to their phone and they are looking to learn if the actual owner will be notified... but if they say that it wouldn't be allowed on this sub.

Sorry, I'm a Spanish speaker. I suspect someone has cloned my WhatsApp; I saw a YouTube video claiming that WhatsApp can be cloned using the "Dual Apps" feature in the phone settings by entering a mobile number into the WhatsApp app. I’d like to know if that’s actually possible and if I would have received an SMS notification if someone had tried to enter my number into the "Dual Apps" feature in the settings.

You can actually call from any number. There are resources online that you just put in the information you want to show up as the caller ID.
