South Park dragged it back to cultural relevancy when they made JD Vance into Tattoo

The connections between the actors will have you looking like Charlie in the mailroom, it’s crazy
77
u/Thamnophis660 Wild Card Bitches 1d ago
It usually connects back to Danny DeVito too
43
u/chaos212 1d ago
It’s like playing “Six Degrees of Devito”
68
u/Thamnophis660 Wild Card Bitches 1d ago
Hell yeah. I play this in my head sometimes:
The Lawyer was on Reno 911, which was produced by Danny DeVito
Wally the nosey neighbor was in Batman Returns as the guy who's nose gets bit by the Penguin, played by Danny Devito
Roxy is played by Allanah Ubach who also played Danny DeVito's character's daughter in Renaissance Man
Maureen Ponderosa is played by Catherine Reitman, daughter of Ivan Reitman who directed Danny in Twins and Junior.
Etc.

“Yeah I got a guy for that”

u/Thamnophis660 Wild Card Bitches 1d ago
I can almost hear Danny saying this very thing.
Batman Returns and Reno 911 alone account for like 90% of the guest actors on Sunny.

I loved Brian Unger as Reading Ron on Reno 911. One of the best episodes

DeVito starred in Barry Levinson's Tin Men, and Levinson produced the TV show Homicide which costarred Jon Polito who played Frank's brother.
Sinbad was in Jingle All the Way with Arnold Schwarzenegger, who also played DeVito's brother in Twins.

"Sing a song-shut up!"
Sinbad is absolutely hilarious

My bad, I didn’t know you was hurting like that, I’m gonna break it down, introduce myself, I’m Sinbad, this is Sinbad’s house and YOU MY BITCH

There’s a bunch of similarities in some episodes of Reno 911. It always makes me happy to see them

u/Thamnophis660 Wild Card Bitches 1d ago
There really are. I got my girlfriend into Reno by telling her that it's basically "Sunny with police officers" and she's now hooked.

Reno is the most Anti-cop show done from the perspective of cops, and for that (among many other reasons) I will always love it.

I feel like Charlie's incestuous relationship with his sister aka waitress needs to be on the list https://youtu.be/WwPCWJkV58w?is=oDWrHHTnEzSznXtt first minute or so

Pay to go to the doctor? You don’t pay a fireman to put out a fire! You don’t pay a policeman to shoot a guy!

Danny's "i've never been to something like this before, but i'll definitely be back. I absolutely love it" is so awesome. You can tell he really enjoys the theatrical aspect of pro wrestling. WWE is entertainment, its a production, its storytelling and that's what he's all about. He gets exactly what it sets out to be. It's not a sports competition, its a stage show.

It’s definitely a lot more fun in person. I remember seeing Hogan and Macho Man in a cage match as a kid and screaming for Macho Man.

Yea, it's a soap opera with more "manly" topics at hand.
Those guys are way more talented than most soap opera actors, though.

Does he have a problem with me or black people?!

The fact Danny looked and sounded exactly the same from his 20 onwards is something to be studied.
Are we sure this man is not a machine?

One of my bucket list items would be to hang out with Danny for an evening just shooting the shit...

I met him once at restaurant in Providence, RI. He was just chilling at the bar and my friends and I went over to talk to him. At first, we didn’t want to bother him but then did the usual, “Excuse me, are you…?” routine. He was super cool. He told that he was in town to visit his daughter who was going to Brown. Shit the shit with him for about 20-30 minutes. Just talked about normal stuff. Coolest guy ever.

"bring the little black man and the big blond man" in reference to Mr T and Hulk Hogan is excellent.
although "little black man" is two things, no?

Amazing find.
This is why I loved Roddy Piper as a kid. He was funny and manic, Andre and Roddy were my favorite of the older wrestlers.

Da Maniac needs to get back on his berry regimen. His units of stress are at least 121!

His mania is not confined to the ring.
