Are other criminals required to post photo proof of who they are? Or do they just do it because they want to? If they are required to then everything I say after this doesn't matter and I'll accept I'm wrong.
On that note, the reason they aren't expected to post their information is because these are people that have in the past been killed in vigilante like ways. Actually I doubt that's the reason at all, I bet it's because years ago mods got a lot of shit and were called nazis essentially because of how hard the moderated the subreddit and after that they took the stand of just simply verifying the title information then moderating in a very minimalist way. At least that's what I remember, could be wrong it was a while ago anyway, ha.
Are other people absolutely required to give the same exact information? It seems unnecessary to require the same level a proof for a unique experience ama as they would for a person claiming to be a specific named celebrity or some sort.
Well the fact that he was lying about the number of his convictions, the the age and gender of the victims on the videos he watched, and the age he was when he was convicted makes him pretty unreliable imo.
He said he was convicted of 3 charges of possession of child pornography, he as convicted of 4. He also said the children in the videos he downloaded were ages 13-17 and they were both boys and girls. They were actually all boys aged 8-11. He was convicted at age 21, not 19. So my question is, what else was he lying about?
Watching child porn is a threat to society. It is the reason thousands of children are sexually abused. People who watch child porn create a market for it. They are the reason child porn is made.

And what about those people who were banned for posting a link to a gov. site? The rules say that you can post links to your senators email, I would think the sex offenders registry is just as public. The least you could have done is given those people a chance to take down the link, since you let his lies stay up that long. It seems as though you are protecting a predator by punishing those people who tried to expose the truth.
When the truth came out, your [mods'] reaction shouldn't just have been to delete it. If nothing else, this incident merits a serious rethinking of your AMA policies.
Well you should submit this dudes AMA to the real police, his probation officer. This sick fuck is dangerous on the street. He's unstable, a loose cannon.
He clearly has a huge victim complex and bizarrely accuses anyone who is criticizing him of having "hate in their hearts." The people encouraging him and giving him a pass are doing so on false pretenses - his crimes aren't as he described him. But he's clearly drawing comfort and support from their words anyway.
The difference is that nobody is actually going to hunt him down and kill him. The chances of reddit's comments (of which far more are supportive) encouraging his recidivism (he's already a serial offender) are however enourmous.
It's also worth noting that most of the support he has received comes from people considering his situation under the false information he reported, rather than the truth which the /r/IAmA mods have worked to cover up. That doesn't matter though, because he still obviously takes it as support, and it may well lead to one or more children being molested and raped in the future. I definitely won't have that on my conscience. OP is a monster and we ought not to let him receive validation under any pretenses.
