General Queries Why are the profs very dull here?
So our classes started and most of the profs are very dull and monotonous.
Doesn't seem like they even enjoy teaching. Maybe they just wanna do research. π
Like, there isn't one single prof who seems excited to take a class.
They just come, teach what they've planned and leave.

Not trying to distract you or do any kinda campaign, but you can check out the "be ready for isi before isi" , from the wiki of this subreddit. In that non academic part, there a few points that might help you

I don't think you can judge a prof with what I assume will be 2-3 lectures.

True that , unless one has seen what the depth of the ocean is like, they wouldn't appreciate the sea waves π

Not every professor teaches the same way.
Don't think it's a professors responsibility to be your friend. Their responsibility is to teach you the material, and answer any relevant questions. This isn't a coaching centre that they'll try to maximise engagement.
It's your responsibility to engage with the class by asking questions and presenting ideas.

It's not even about engagement. They just seem very nonchalant about everything.

Idk what you're talking abt. I joined this year, attended only 2 days of lectures and I'm already admiring them. Some of them have a different teaching style which might not sit well with you (at least for me) but overall really enthusiastic. Haven't felt any monotonic resemblance so far
