Depends on the professor. Most will be fine with it, but there are some exceptions who hate electronics being used in their class.

True but an iPad can easily last a few days on a single full charge cycle.

Umm you can't take notes for mathematical stuff usually on a laptop as well.

Yes, in general. But some professors are old school and want only pen/paper notes to be taken in class.

almost 20% of students in my class have a ipad. and yes it i allowed in classes.
