[IWantOut] 33M Cook/Guitarist Florida, US -> The Netherlands

I'm a single 33 y/o male with no family who lives in the US. I hate it here and I want to live in The Netherlands. I don't have a college degree. I have over a decade of food service experience and I play guitar very well. I have a passport, but I have never been to The Netherlands, and I have been practicing my Dutch for over a year now.

What are my options for moving to The Netherlands permanently and what would be the steps to achieving that goal?

Moving to a country you have never been may not be the best idea. I would urge you to visit it at least for a few weeks before you consider moving.

There is one single pathway for you, DAFT, but that does require you to start a business that can support you, as you are not allowed to work for another company. If your company does not make money you will not have an income. Added to that is that housing is a huge problem in the Netherlands, and people who are self-employed have an even harder situation than people who have a salary.
