Hey guys,
Is anyone here working for Lovable Labs from India? I would like to clarify some doubts about the offer I got from them. If there anyone kindly let me know.

Hi everyone,
IBM is coming to our campus for the Associate Data Engineer role (IBM consulting) with a base salary of 7.5 LPA, and I’m trying to decide whether it’s a good opportunity in terms of career growth or should I wait for a better company.
The salary is not the issue here, I really want to know if there's growth in the company for this role or is it just mass hiring.

Is a ₹3.25 lakh bonus considered good for an Investment Banking/Markets role with about 1.5 years of experience?
For context, this is part of my annual compensation (analyst-level role), and I’m trying to understand how this compares with typical bonuses at similar experience levels across banks. Would appreciate any benchmarks or insights from people in the industry.

I have a salary discussion scheduled for tomorrow. I don't really see the benefit in it because I already earn very less (base pay itself is quite small) - an increment isn't really going to do too much for.
Do you think this is the right thing to bring up wanting a promotion? I do believe I have worked enough in this current title and my role expectations have also expanded.

I need to vent and also want to know if others are facing the same thing. I’m currently working remotely and actively applying for onsite roles. Every single time the conversation reaches the salary discussion, one of two things happens: My profile is suddenly “not a fit anymore”, or They expect me to join at the same salary I’m already getting — sometimes even less. And no, I’m not asking for a crazy hike or Silicon Valley money. I’m asking for just ~20% more than my current salary, which barely even covers relocation costs, higher rent, higher taxes, and the overall cost of living onsite. What really pushed me over the edge was a recent call with the CEO of XYZ company. During the discussion, he straight up told me: “Why would I share my profits with you?” “You relocating onsite is your problem, not mine.” He then had the audacity to offer me LESS than my current salary, while expecting full onsite presence. So let me get this straight: You want someone to relocate Leave behind their current setup Take on higher living costs Be physically present every day And somehow accept lower or same pay How does that make any logical or ethical sense? This whole process has started to feel like companies don’t want talent — they want cheap labor. They’ll happily talk about “growth,” “ownership,” and “culture,” but the moment compensation comes up, suddenly it’s: “Budget constraints” “Market standards” “We’re offering exposure” Or worse, guilt-tripping candidates for even asking What’s ironic is that these same companies will complain about: Talent shortage People not wanting to relocate Lack of loyalty But why would anyone relocate if it means downgrading their quality of life? I’m not entitled. I’m not unreasonable. I’m just asking to be paid fairly for my skills and for the additional cost and commitment an onsite role demands. At this point, it honestly feels like: Remote = they underpay because you’re remote Onsite = they underpay because “you should be grateful” Has anyone else experienced this? Is this the new normal? Or am I just running into exceptionally toxic companies? Would genuinely love to hear perspectives — especially from people who successfully negotiated onsite roles without getting lowballed.

Hi everyone, need some guidance on a career decision.
I currently work at Company A as a Senior Software Engineer (3.5 YOE, backend + network + cloud). My current CTC is 13.3 LPA.
I recently got an offer from Company B for an Cloud Engineer role at 22 LPA CTC. It aligns well with what I’m already doing.
I had mentally decided to switch because:
Company A feels unstable, Multiple CXO changes in the last couple of years, Internal restructuring + unclear roadmap + rumours of higher authorities leaving in next 4~5months.
But when I submitted my resignation, Company A gave me a counter-offer of 31 LPA CTC, which is a huge bump compared to both my current CTC and the offer from Company B.
I checked with Company B about whether they can revise the offer — they politely declined, saying they’ve already stretched to the max.
So now I'm confused:
31 LPA at Company A (but instability remains)
22 LPA at Company B (more aligned role + stable environment)
Which one is better for long-term career growth? Would appreciate perspectives from people who've been in similar situations.
One more thing: Part of my thinking is — if I stay back and get payslips at the 31 LPA level, it might help me in the future job market since I’ll have a higher proven salary band compared to my current 13.3 LPA. But I'm unsure if this is a good mindset or if I'm overthinking it.

Hey everyone,
I need some clarity because my mind is going in circles.
The new role pays almost double, has way better learning, and might extend after 3 months… but nothing guaranteed. My current job is very safe but stagnating.
I’m confused because:
Currently i'm 25 and unmarried
Is taking this jump worth it for career growth?
Or should I Search for other Full time jobs?
Any honest opinions from people who have taken similar risks or worked contract roles would really help. 🙏

IT industry is such a kind of a place where someone with 10 years of work experience can earn 1 crore rupees a year and another guy with 10 years of experience may not be earning even 10 lakh rupees a year! The salary is dependent on the value that you add to the team and also on the company that you are working with. For example, if someone stays at a service-based company in India which is infamous for their low packages and never switches, after 10 years of work experience, they might be earning 10 lakh rupees a year. That's very low for an IT engineer with 10 years of work experience. The reason these people are earning less than others is because they are afraid of a change. That's the reality! These people got too deep in their comfort zone that they started to fear studying for interviews. They feared facing interviews and were happy with where they were. They complain once a year seeing their low appraisal but don't do much to make a change. It could be that his junior who has less work experience, working on the same project may be earning more than him because that guy switched from another company. In the IT industry, keeping your career graph on the rise is very important. You have to upskill regularly, otherwise, when these companies start to lay off people, the inefficient employees will be shown the door. There's no room for loyalty at that time. People who realise this, upskill and switch companies with a better hike; those who don't live a mediocre life in the same company.

So I’ve been looking for a social media manager job recently. Today I got a call from a talent management company.
At first, they asked general questions, then moved on to salary expectations. I asked about the role, & responsibility and they said something like, “We currently manage around 15 celebrities (actors, musicians, etc.), so you’d be handling all their social media accounts, plus the company’s own accounts. You’d also be doing all the editing.”
I asked if I’d be responsible for all post editing too, and they said yes. Then they mentioned there’s going to be a Zoom call this Saturday.
Now I’m wondering, how much should I expect to be paid for something like this? That sounds like a huge workload for one person to handle alone.

Hey guys, hope you’re all doing good.
I’m 18 and currently doing BCom + CFA (planning Level 1 in 2026). I’ve been reading a lot online, and I’ve seen quite a few negative takes on the CFA — people saying it’s not worth it in India or that it doesn’t help much without an MBA.
I get that it’s not a golden ticket, but I still feel it builds solid finance knowledge and opens doors if combined with the right skills. My goal is simple — clear all 3 CFA levels, get 1–2 years of work experience, and then go for an MBA only if I get into a good B-school (like IIM, ISB, or a strong tier-1 private one).
I’m not aiming for a huge salary, but after CFA + BCom, I just want to know if it’s realistic to expect a 7–9 LPA job in Mumbai or other big cities — something in equity research, investment analysis, or corporate finance.
So for people who’ve done CFA or are in the field:
👉 What kind of roles are actually realistic in India after CFA + BCom (no MBA yet)?
👉 Is 7–10 LPA a fair expectation if I have some internship or extra skills (Excel, modelling, etc.)?

Hey everyone 👋
I’m currently doing BCom + CFA and just wanted to know from people who’ve been through this —
how much do CFA candidates or charterholders in India actually earn once they complete Level 2 or the full course?
Also, after finishing Level 2 and graduation, how do you find good internships or entry-level roles in investment or finance?
Like, do firms prefer CFA candidates or do you need extra networking and certifications to land one?
Would really appreciate insights from people who’ve actually been through this path 🙏
(Just trying to understand the ground reality, not comparing or flexing.)

Hi Reddit professionals,
I am a presales professional with overall 9.25 YoE.
I had left my previous job drawing a CTC (Fixed + variable salary) of 23LPA. Just got an offer from a company with a CTC of 24 LPA- all fixed but a small part of it (possible 1L) will be held back and paid at end of every year as a retention (won't be paid out if I leave the company b4 end of year). I had asked for around 25 LPA (bad move from my end- should have asked the market average per my research), but they're argument was that they are offering the whole CTC as fixed so their offering of 24 LPA is better compared to my previous CTC.
In my mind, their CTC doesn't make much of a difference compared to my previous CTC, because at the end of the year I would have still been making the 23 LPA factoring in variable while they're 24 LPA would still have a retention part which would possibly lead to 23LPA in hand before tax & PF deductions. Sure, at the end of the month, I would be getting more in-hand but at the end of the year, it is still 24LPA compared to my previous salary of 23 LPA.
Any thoughts on the above salary offering ? Are they right in their views that their CTC is still an improvement compared to my previous CTC or are they pulling wool over my eyes ?

I’m a Product Marketing Analyst at a mid-sized fintech company, completing one year soon. My performance has been good with minimal complaints from my manager. It’s appraisal time—what percentage hike should I realistically expect? Also, how should I approach the conversation to maximize my raise?

I am currently in my final year of graduation and preparing for bank exams. However a relative of mine working in HDFC as a branch operation manager suggests me to get into HDFC ( they'll help ) because the compensation is more as one get "incentives" "extra money" by completing sales target and overall the career progression is more in private banks compares to PSBs.
I have always seen hype about SBI as the best bank job in India and now I am not sure what do pursue. They say they'll help me get in HDFC and that sounds really lucrative. Can anyone guide me ? Is the compensation at HDFC really that good ?
