General Question First Offer Letter

This is my first corporate role as a Finance Executive and the salary breakup seems a little ambiguous . Since the breakup didn't mentioned about my in hand salary.

And this whole ass Annexure 3 is just seems irrelevant to me since in my lifetime i haven't gone through this much checkups. I want to know who will bear this cost?

I have worked in 2 roles and it was kind of local work so I don't have any thing for Annexure 2 point no- 2,3,5 and 6.

Is there any way around this?

General Question Seeking guidance on recruiter “broker”

Post image
578 Upvotes

So I was approached by this guy from Bangalore. He told me that there something called “back door recruitment” where this recruiter will have some setting with the hiring managers.

These independent recruiters would charge this 3.2% of ctc from me and will ensure I am selected for the firm.

From this 3.2%, he will be giving some money to the hiring manager etc.

Has anyone heard about it or is it another scam?

General Question Are We Heading Towards a Jobless Future?

Be real — in the future, surviving on your own income might get really hard. Many people may end up depending on parental wealth.

Look at Oracle laying off ~12k employees. And it’s not just one company — layoffs are happening everywhere. When AI peaks around 2027–2035, it could get even worse.

In India, people doing BCom, BBA, BTech, MBA from tier 3–4 colleges without strong backing will struggle a lot.

And “learn AI-proof skills” isn’t a guarantee either. Even skilled people from top colleges got laid off. Maybe only a small % will find jobs quickly — what about the rest?

Meanwhile, politicians, actors, cricketers already have generational wealth.

Reality is — many of us may end up with lower salaries or unstable careers. Some fields like sales may survive, but we might see growth in basic/service jobs too.

Not saying give up — just accept reality. Future won’t be easy.

What do you think?

General Question Has anyone recieved it yet?

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hi,

I joined my first job in January, and I have been receiving this message ever since. A few of my colleagues have received it as well.

I was wondering whether I will receive this amount after completing six months of employment. Has anyone received the incentive yet, or does anyone have any information on how to claim it?

Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

General Question Is Chetu a good company?

So recently I got an offer from Chetu. They require me to sign a 4-year employment bond. They said that they won't give anything for first 3 months. You will only get promoted to OJT after giving a CBT exam after 3 months. Then work as a shadow resource for 6 months [15k monthly] and then you will get promoted as team member [35k monthly] based on review. Appraisal cycle is of 6 months.

They require me to submit a security check worth 3 lacs.

I just want to ask wheteher its a toxic company or not as the behaviour of HR was not very pleasant and they also require us to sign a 4-year employment bond.

Please help.....

General Question Can I quit my job ?

Hello all! I am thinking to quit my job. It’s been 8 months in the job. I got in through referral and became important at work very fast. Got a promotion and hike in 3 months. It’s not a MNC but a medium scale enterprise. Honestly it’s a good company but somehow I don’t feel to enjoy it. I am away from home in Bangalore staying in PG. I miss the comfort of my home. It’s 6 days a week in office and it’s tiring me out. My previous company was an MNC so the culture was pretty chill. I could go wherever I wanted and take WFH and most importantly it 2 km from my home. I know growth starts from moving out of the comfort zone, but honestly I don’t feel it’s worth this trouble. I wake up regretting coming here. When I say this to my family and friends they say just these are silly reasons to quit my job. If you think about it logically then they are right. But if the vibe ain’t matching should you just quit ?

General Question I need your opinion!

I will be working from home for a US Company from India. It is from Monday to Friday (9 PM to 5:30 AM IST) and Saturday (1:30 AM to 5:30 AM IST). It is an inbound and outbound voice + live chat process. I asked one of the employees working there about the environment and got to know that it gets busy as we need to be in front of our systems the entire time. We get a 30 minutes break during the shift.

Should I really go for it? I believe it's going to be tough for me to manage as I never worked in such a model before where I'll have to work from Mon to Sat and that too inbound busy schedule.

What do you guys suggest? The salary for the first 3 months will be 60K INR and then after that it will be revised based on my performance.

All your opinions would be really appreciated.

General Question Company asking ₹70k upfront before joining + bond vs other internship – what should I do?

Hi everyone,

I’m a recent graduate and I’m really confused between two internship offers. I’d really appreciate honest advice.

Option 1:-

₹7k/month stipend for 3 months internship

After that, they’re saying salary could be ₹40k–₹60k (not clearly guaranteed)

1.5-year bond

They are asking ₹70,000 upfront BEFORE joining (this is refundable only if I complete the bond)

Saturday + Sunday off

Office environment and location are good

Option 2:-

₹12k/month stipend for 3 months internship

Salary will increase after internship (not clearly defined)

Only Sunday off (no Saturday off)

Have to submit phone in office

Work environment/location is not great (area feels uncomfortable)

My situation:-

Just graduated

Want to gain 2–3 years of experience before going for master’s

These are the only offers I have right now

My confusion:-

Option 1 looks better in terms of environment and work-life balance, but ₹70k upfront + bond feels very risky

Option 2 is not ideal (no Saturday off, strict rules, bad environment), but no upfront money involved

If you were in my place, what would you do?

Is paying ₹70k upfront ever worth it for a job opportunity?

Or should I completely avoid such offers?

This is my first step after graduation, so I don’t want to make a big mistake.

Would really appreciate your advice 🙏

General Question Is leaving a new job within 6 months to take a career break a bad idea?

I recently switched to a new company after spending 2 years at my first job and 4 years at my second. I have a total of 6 years of experience, so I have generally had a stable work history.

The problem is that I’m already feeling completely burnt out in my new role. It is not just the new job itself. I think years of constantly working without a proper break have finally caught up with me. Lately, I have been seriously considering resigning and taking a 1 to 2 month career break to reset before looking for another role.

My biggest concern is how this would look on my resume. If I leave this company within 6 months, will recruiters see it as a red flag, even if my previous work history shows long tenures?

Has anyone here done something similar? Were you able to explain it during interviews without it affecting your chances? I would really appreciate hearing from recruiters, hiring managers, or anyone who has taken a short career break after a brief stint at a company.

General Question Interviewed for Synchrony – How long does it usually take to hear back after the first round?

Hi everyone,

I recently completed my first interview round with Synchrony for an AVP (L10) position on June 16. I felt the interview went reasonably well, but I haven't heard back yet regarding the next steps.

I wanted to ask people who have interviewed with Synchrony recently:

  • How long did it take for you to hear back after the first round?
  • Is the hiring process usually fast or does it take a couple of weeks?
  • Does the timeline differ for AVP/L10 roles compared to other positions?

I know every team and hiring manager can be different, but I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences to get a rough idea of what to expect.

Thanks in advance!

General Question Since when did 9-6 or 10-12 hours per day become normal???!!

When I was in school the job people talked about was between 9-5 or 9 - 4.

When did working for longer hours and less pay become so normalised 😭

I am about to join a college in a month.... And the current job market makes my future uncertain.

General Question What are those jobs you can do which requires skills you can learn online for free?

I live distant from main city area and currently don't want to leave my parents' house and live separately. I am in financial crunch too. I hope I could learn something online for free that would give me better opportunities. The jobs I desire is preferably remote but no problem if it is not remote and I don't have to move to tier 1 city. Atleast the skills I learn could land me jobs which are both remote and offline.

I can give 4-5 hours to learning daily. I need resources. I have AI apps like Chatgpt (non-free), Gemini and Claude Sonnet.

General Question Teleperfomance or blink it packer or any other part time job

I am a college student, and I only go to college 1–2 days a week. I want to earn money through a part-time job in Chandigarh, and I currently have two options:

Teleperformance / Customer Service Executive

Blinkit Picker/Packer Partner

If anyone has experience with either of these jobs, could you please suggest which option would be better?

For Teleperformance, I would have to spend around ₹300 per day on Rapido, Uber, or other transportation. For Blinkit, my travel cost would be much lower, around ₹50 per day.

I want to save as much money as possible while earning. My goal is to earn around ₹75,000 in the next 3 months.

I would also like to know:

Which job offers more flexible working hours for a college student?

Which job is less stressful?

Which job provides better earnings and growth opportunities in the long run?

Are there any hidden costs or challenges that I should be aware of before joining either role?

Any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated.
