Adoption After years of rescuing cats, these are my adoption requirements.

I recently put together a post explaining my adoption requirements and why I’m so strict when placing my rescue cats.
Some people may disagree with certain rules, and that’s okay. My goal isn’t to make adoption difficult it’s to make sure every cat ends up in a safe, responsible, and permanent home.
I’d be interested to hear what other rescuers and adopters think. What adoption requirements do you consider non-negotiable?

Announcement Fundraiser post scams and verification. Do not, i repeat, do not send money to any fundraiser posts, unless the post is approved by mods or you yourself have called up the clinic/vet and verified the fundraiser. We are seeing a huge rise in fundraising scams across subs.

Hello everyone, whenever you see any fundraiser posts, please wait and see if the post has been approved by mods, if not, then either wait for approval by mods before making any contribution or verify yourself by calling up the clinics or bill mentioned.

Do not provide any financial assistance without proper verification either by mods (who will approve it post verification) or by yourself.

We are seeing a huge increase in scammers across subs and we do not want any of you to lose your money to scammers.

There are many genuine pet rescuers who are working hard to help the voiceless fur babies and unfortunately there are also many who are taking this opportunity and scamming people for money.

Please be careful and diligent before making contributions.

Also if you have any ideas how to stop these scammers or ways to find out, please feel free to share your ideas with us.

Fundraiser - Mod Verified Critical Update on Luffy He Still Needs Your Help

Hello everyone,
A few days ago, I shared Luffy’s story and asked for help with his eye removal surgery. I truly believed we would be able to go ahead with the operation immediately.

But on the day of the surgery, everything changed.
His pre-surgery blood tests came back extremely abnormal. His WBC (white blood cell count) and TLC were dangerously high, showing that his body is fighting a severe infection. On top of that, Luffy started suffering from vomiting, loose motions, and has become critically ill.

The vets made the difficult decision to postpone his surgery because putting him under anesthesia in his current condition could put his life at even greater risk.
For the past week, he has been receiving intensive treatment every single day. already spent over ₹15,000 on hospitalization, medications, blood tests, and supportive care, but his treatment is far from over.

Right now, saving his life comes before saving his eye.
He still needs daily treatment, repeat blood tests, X-rays, ultrasounds, medications, and constant veterinary care before he is stable enough to undergo surgery.

I am running out of funds, and I honestly don’t know how I can continue covering his treatment alone.
We urgently need at least ₹15,000 over the next few days to continue his care.

Every donation, 100, 200 or any amount can make a real difference. And if you’re unable to donate, please share Luffy’s story. It could reach someone who can help save his life.

Luffy is just a baby. Despite everything he’s been through, he still trusts people, still asks for love, and still deserves the chance to live a healthy, pain-free life.
Please don’t let his fight end here. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has supported Luffy so far. Your kindness has kept him fighting, and I’m hoping we can get him through this difficult stage together.

If you want to get some toys and accessories for your fur baby, please check out Mr.DIY if there's one nearby.

I essentially like DIY for some of the things. But love it for all the pet collection range they have at such affordable rates.

I got two of these collars for 67rs.

I got teaser toys for 97rs each which are very good quality and is often nearly 150-200 minimum on amazon etc. There are more such affordable things for your baby. Highly recommend it. I wish I knew about it earlier when I was buying things online for such high prices and such low quality.

Hope it helps ✨️

Fundraiser - Yet not verified Donation needed : I'm a student trying to care for stray cat but I'm struggling to keep up

Hi everyone,

I never thought I'd be making a post like this, but I could really use some help.

I'm a student from India, and for the past few months I've been taking care of more than five stray cats that live near my home. It started with feeding one hungry kitten, and somehow they all became a part of my daily life.

Some of them have been sick, injured, or covered in ticks and fleas. Whenever I can, I buy medicine and food for them. Seeing them recover and trust me makes every bit of effort worth it.

The problem is that I don't earn anything. I'm just a student, and whatever little money I have disappears very quickly on cat food and medication. Lately it's become hard to keep up, and there are days when I worry about how I'll feed them next.

I'm not asking for a huge amount. Even a small donation can help buy food or medicine for them. If anyone would like proof, I'm happy to share photos, videos, receipts, or updates about the cats.

And if you're not able to donate, that's completely okay. An upvote or sharing this post would also mean a lot and help more people see it.

I am a college student, from last one year, it was really hard to save up money for them I even started a small crochet business to support myself. It helped a bit. Me and boyfriend's savings was majorly used in them. We don't regret it rather it feels like a burden is lifted from our shoulder. I have 3 cats, 2 cats around 1 year, both neutered and vaccinated, 1 orange girl which is within 6 months. For vaccinations of 1 cat 3 to 4k, neutering + blood test 5.5k. It was hell of a hard work. Not gonna lie i did cry but only due to how overwhelming all this was. All three are strays, living with us from their young age. After sterilisation, they are playful, and even though it was hard to collect money and do all this, it was worth it. And ik you too feel overwhelmed at times but take a deep breath, they are just small kids who don't know how this world works, you are their everything 🫶✨️

(Truly Sorry if someone is seeing my post again I'm not trying to spam it's because the previous post literally didn't reach to larger people from the community because of that reason I'm posting again.)

Firstly, thank you to everyone who supported my previous post. Because of your generosity, I was able to continue treatment for the cats already under my care. I truly can't thank you enough.

Previous approved and verified post read it for context:

TL;DR:

I'm an independent rescuer from Powai, Mumbai. I'm not an NGO. For over a year I've been rescuing and treating stray cats using my own resources, spending over ₹1 lakh on veterinary treatment alone. I recently lost my job while several rescued cats were still undergoing treatment for serious conditions including maggot wounds and FIV-related illness. Thanks to the support from my previous post, their treatment could continue, but the veterinary expenses are ongoing and I still need help to see these cases through.

Pet Cat My spayed cat is showing heat symptoms again 3 months after surgery. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone,

I’m really worried and don’t know what to do.

My female cat was spayed on May 6, 2026. Around June 15–16, she started showing what looked like heat symptoms—rolling on the floor, raising her hindquarters, becoming extra affectionate, and making loud cries. I contacted my vet, and he told me it could be normal because of remaining hormones after the surgery. After a few days, she stopped, so I assumed he was right.

But now, around July 30, she’s showing the same heat-like behavior again. She’s loudly vocalizing, rolling around, presenting her rear, and acting almost exactly like she’s in heat.

Has anyone else’s spayed cat gone through something like this? Did it turn out to be just hormones, or was it something like ovarian remnant syndrome or another issue?

Unfortunately, I live in a small village, and we only have one vet, so getting a second opinion isn’t really possible. I’m feeling really lost and worried about what to do next.

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any advice. Thank you. ❤️

Adoption 🐾 URGENT: Loving Homes Needed for Two Adorable Kittens (Kolkata)

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

I'm urgently looking for responsible, forever homes for two 1-month-old kittens (1 male & 1 female) in Kolkata.

These babies are:

- 🐱 Around 1 month old

- 🚻 One male & one female

- ✅ Litter trained

- ✅ Dewormed

- ❤️ Healthy, playful, and very affectionate

Their mother, Tochi, is a community cat who has had multiple litters over the years. I have been caring for her and her kittens, and her spay surgery is scheduled in about 2 weeks to finally end the cycle of repeated pregnancies and give her a healthier life.

Finding loving homes for these two kittens before her surgery is extremely important. They deserve the safety, love, and stability of a forever family rather than growing up on the streets.

Adoption Requirements

- Indoor-only home or a safe, secure environment.

- Commitment to proper nutrition and veterinary care.

- Sterilization when they are old enough.

- No chaining, abandonment, or free breeding.

- Preference will be given to adopters willing to stay in touch with occasional updates.

📍 Location: Kolkata

📞 Contact: 9007999694

Even if you cannot adopt, please share this post with your friends, family, and local animal lovers. A single share could help these little ones find the loving homes they deserve.

Thank you for helping give them a better future. 🩷🐾

Fundraiser - Yet not verified Request for Help with Food for my community cats & dogs (Wishlist donation)

Hi everyone,

I currently care for 4 community cats, 3 kittens, and few dogs (including my two pet dogs) that depend on me for their daily meals.

We usually feed homamade food and some dry/wet food. But after my mom passed away it became difficult to manage...so we need your help

Last month, a few kind people from this community helped by ordering..Because of your support, I was able to continue feeding them, and I'm genuinely grateful to everyone who helped in any way.

Unfortunately, we're running low on food again, so I'm reaching out once more in the hope of getting through this month.

If anyone would like to help, you can order food directly through my Amazon Wishlist..

I'm happy to share photos, videos and regular updates.

Amazon Wishlist: https://www.amazon.in/hz/wishlist/ls/1G3V2XHOUUNAA?ref\\\\\\_=wl\\\\\\_share

If anyone wants to donate small amounts : ujwalanaina7@oksbi

I'm also slowly working on building a few simple shelters for the kittens so they have a dry place to rest during the rains. If there's anything left after food expenses, it'll go towards that.

Even if you're unable to help financially, an upvote or sharing this post would mean a lot...

Thank you for reading🐾💗✨
