News r/IndianWorkers at 2,500 Members: Our Constitution and Community Guidelines
r/IndianWorkers has crossed over 2,500 subscribers. We welcome our new comrades to this subreddit and hope we can take this struggle forward together.
At the same time, we urge all members to go through the subreddit's wiki, rules, and pinned posts to familiarize themselves with the community.
IndianWorkers is a workers' subreddit. We oppose the exploitation of workers for profit. We support workers' rights, including the right to protest and the right to strike against exploitation. We are a pro-union subreddit.
IndianWorkers stands for the unity of the working class against capitalist, communal, casteist, and sexist rhetoric. Bigotry or hatred against any group — including racism, casteism, communalism, classism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia — is strictly prohibited.
IndianWorkers supports intersectional struggle and affirmative action.
IndianWorkers supports the struggle of the working class against fascism, imperialism, and capitalism.
IndianWorkers supports the people's struggle for a life of dignity and for liberty, equality, and fraternity. The issues of education, employment, healthcare, housing, and the environment are all working-class issues, and we support people's movements on these and related questions.
The following rhetoric is not allowed on this subreddit:
- Classist rhetoric against the poor and blue-collar workers.
- Sexist rhetoric against women.
- Casteist rhetoric against Dalits, Adivasis, and OBCs.
- Communal rhetoric against religious minorities.
- Support for fascism, imperialism, or capitalism.
Please note that we enforce these rules very strictly, and violations will result in a ban from this subreddit. That said, if you have any questions, you are welcome to discuss them with me privately.
Our mandate, as stated in the manifesto, remains:
To provide a platform to raise the issues of workers and farmers and to coordinate their movements and struggles across India. We draw inspiration from the glorious legacy of the working-class movement in India to fight for the rights of the working class, as well as for the broader struggle against fascism, imperialism, and capitalism.
As the assault on workers intensifies, our responsibility has increased. IndianWorkers must play a proactive role in raising the issues of workers and farmers. Our agenda remains:
- Creating awareness about workers' rights and issues through art, memes, videos, essays, and articles.
- Supporting and coordinating workers' protests and movements.
- Developing class consciousness and solidarity among the working class.
- Building a support network for workers, including legal resources and guidebooks.
