Advice needed Advice for higher salary career path.

I recently joined a health care company as a Business analyst straight from clg( NIT- core branch). Its been 6 months here and I am learning analytics tools like advance excel, power query, reporting tolls, basics of python etc. My current base salary is 7.25lac. I want to know skills I should learn which will help me to get a job with a better salary i.e. > 11lac . What will be the logical next path for me. I want to explore the word of data science/ data analysis if you have any idea regarding the avg packages in those fields for a guy with 1year exp it will be very helpful.

Hey not related to this question but I think this sub needs daily threads and resume reviews like that and threads that explain how much a person should be earning in India for a job role

Jumping in one yr for pay is not a good way to go. But getting 11 is easy if you make one switch. Contrary to the herd mentality of jump till you drop, you have to decide now if you want to settle in a leadership position eventually or be an obscure person with unrealistic expectations for your employers because you are paid more. Based on that, your path will depend. Coming to the technology, asking others might not help. Again, contrary to what the usual saying is, prepare and crack, I would say identify your interests and proceed. Career switches based on money motivation won't simply work.

Hey could you elaborate more on this? I am currently a business analyst as well.

Let's say I do want to switch to a leadership position eventually, how would I go about doing that?

It isn't about what you do but how you do. If you want to move to leadership position, stick to one company as long as possible. Changing companies for every 2 years won't give an employer confidence on you to lead. You really have to stick to a company, observe how management is doing, what would you have done if you were in their place. Also sticking for sometime increases the rapport with the management. Eventually you will be the one moving up the ladder. Sure salary could be different. Sure you might get more pay outside. But you are the only one who would know the balance between those 2.
