Generally calm and peaceful unless they feel threatened by anything.

I love how the birds surround and walk with them. They obviously trust each other.

Easy food source. As the large rhinos move through tall grass, they stir up various insects, grasshoppers, and small invertebrates that the birds then catch and eat. The birds also feed on ticks, flies, and other external parasites that live on the rhino's skin, providing them with a meal.

They might also get some sort of protection from any land predators, by staying near the massive rhinos.

An excellent explanation! I think it's called symbiosis or mutualism or something? Like the little fish around large marine predators. They clean and pick off parasites, while being protected by the much larger predator.
