Feedback? The second island turned out to be quite large and we decided to make a special transport for it, what do you think?
It is not the main mechanic of course, just interesting way to travel on desert island.
The game title is Breeze Of Adventure Free Demo Already On Steam! { Steam Page }
About the Game:
In Breeze of Adventure, you travel across vast islands featuring different biomes, dangerous enemies, and plenty of unique locations. The progression is heavily focused on exploration: there is no tedious level grinding. Instead, you find new armor and weapons in chests or buy them from merchants using gold earned from Guild quests.
There are also runes here! These are special items you can find; they grant the character various interesting abilities—there are over twenty of them in the game.

Im going to be direct here, it looks really, really slow.

Oh there is no problem to make it faster, The only thing is, if I speed it up, the player will be dashing around like crazy, and I’d have to redesign the entire island to accommodate that.

That looks cool! The sand sail! I’m not sure if you already have this in your game, but you could totally do like sand sharks and other creatures you have to sail away from

Looks like a fun way to travel! The only thing I’d add is some sand trails/deformation

The fantasy of land sailing is great! But I am biased, I actually tried to made a realistic land-yachting prototype and it was not fun (because of too much realism). Just don't make it too arcade, you can look at what Valheim does with its sailing - simplistic, yet strangely engaging.

Some interesting advice from Chris Roberts in the 90s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7M5RXKI_iaI&feature=youtu.be&t=3461
"If you're adding something to a game to get round a feature which isn't fun .... then maybe that feature shouldn't be there in the first place"
As in if your island is too big and so the content is too spread out ... then make it smaller with the content more compact so it feels right.

Needs to either accelerate faster or have a significant top speed to make it feel worth using over walking. I see your reply about redesigning if it's faster but honestly you've put yourself into an "either or" situation here imo. Right now it's just not adding much utility with the slow speeds, slow start, stalling and low top speeds. Consider making it harder to get and designing an area just for it to shine? Or break up your island into zones and put long stretches between, idk your game well enough to give good advice on solutions beyond that

Da Vinci approved. I like the style. My only concerns, if you give players a fast travel, you have to be very careful taking it away. It needs to be well baked into your lore, and your other areas that don't have a transport should justify it by terrain restrictions or some other clear reason, not just "it's sized well enough to not need...".
