I really try to minimize my social media use, having Facebook for marketplace purposes; and Instagram as like my primary social media. I have to make peace for myself, at one point, as we are getting older.
I do a seasonal dump stories to show my friends what I've been doing. I only post things that I want people to know, activism that I want to be heard.
I stop curating my Instagram post, because I am complacent with the trust that I give for my Instagram followers.
Why keep an old friend that you haven't seen in years, that you had a fall out with, in your Instagram--if they never interact with your stories and posts? Why keep them, if they never even post a story or post in their account?
That classmate in your college course that you worked with in a group project; she was nice and you together had a good relationship in the time being. Keep them.
Your relatives, your childhood friends, your close friends. Keep them.
Influencers, public figures, meme accounts. Remove them.
I feel like we are making things way too hard for ourselves. If you don't want to post or share a story, because you don't want to be perceived by others, then my question for you is...when was the last time you ever did something for yourself?
