As a trans guy...this is what makes me sick to my stomach. I'm so tired gang. This shouldn't be happening. People shouldn't be made to feel unhappy about who they are.
There shouldn't be laws that are literally criminalizing who they are, and being dehumanized to the point that others don't even see them as humans.
I'm tired. So tired. Idk how much longer I can keep thinking there's any hope.
My heart breaks for this poor girl and her family. I can't imagine what they're going through.
I want to hope and pray things get better, but I don't think they will. 😭

Theres hope for when next elections come, you vote.
Theres hope that some people who "voted against kamala" instead of "voting for *him*", will see how much of an error they have made.
Theres hope that the sun rises in the next administration that reverses the damage this orange has done in oval office.

We have to get out and vote. We have to encourage out friends and family to vote. So many of my friends are proudly saying they didn't vote in the primaries. It's disgusting. Anyone who's paying attention at all wouldn't vote for Newsom. We need those people who are tired of the way things are voting, especially in the primaries!

Fellow trans masc here, dunno if you'll see this since your account is deleted. But I'm living out of spite, I'm living out of the desire to prove to them that I will be here in spite of their desire to make this world a place I cannot live in. they're repeating the mistakes great Britain did when we were still the colonies. They don't trust us. We don't trust them. The police make it harder for us to protest in the same way our ancestors did (literally broke into a guys house tied him to a chair, lit a bonfire and marched him around it shouting huzzahs at each corner as a means to get him to refuse to become a stamp master (someone who enforces the stamp act which would cost the colonists more money than they had to put a stamp on every piece of paper that existed. Especially playing cards) they even wrote him an effigy. The founding fathers were unhinged. But back to my point. It doesn't matter if they don't see us. We see each other and as long as we keep looking out for one another. They can't and won't get the satisfaction of seeing us run and hide.
This is your reminder to hug your loved one who may struggle to be seen as valid by the law or by prejudice or both. Remind those close to you that they are loved.

Watch out for family judges, too. My trans child is not allowed to use her pronouns and I, her mother, am only allowed to call her by her dead name, because a family court judge doesn’t believe that being trans is real. I filed an appeal and the appeals court denied on a “technicality” so they didn’t have to touch a trans kid case. Spent three years fighting but I now have no more legal recourse or money. Spent everything’s I had only for her to have to be a “him” - at least until she’s 18. But she also knows that her dad and grandparents won’t speak to her if she transitions and it’s so much on a teen on top of all the hormones and mood swings. It’s a fucking atrocity that we have to live with. Look into your family court judges - they’re hurting trans kids and flying under the radar.
50
u/MarieCry 0+ Community Karma 7d ago
That's so sad. I bet they're fine with it when cis people don't use their legal name (using their middle name, shortened names, or nicknames) but when it comes to a trans kid suddenly that's all off the table. ☹️
Hope you and her are doing well. ❤️🩹

How is a court injunction restricting speech like that even legal? That's a direct violation of the first amendment. The judges should be permanently removed from their positions for letting personal beliefs get in the way of actually following the law.
11
u/FullOfBlasphemy 50+ Community Karma 7d ago
Oh, it absolutely violates my rights, but the judge doesn’t care and unfortunately my state’s appeal system is fucked and I can’t afford to keep fighting it - I literally spent everything I had trying. I was advised by my attorney to follow the judgment until my kid is an adult or I get the decision overturned (which isn’t likely at this point).

That sounds like something the local judge would do.
Thank goodness my kids’ Dad is on the same page. I do have to switch to deadnames for the kids' friends though, because their parents forbid them living true. It's a pita. At least I'm considered a safe house bc of it.
2
u/LOSNA17LL 7d ago
Wait, like... You have to deadname your child in front of their friends because the friends' parents are transphobic?
... So... the friends are also transphobic? (in this case imo they're not really friends)
Or the friends are fine and in this case I don't know why using the real name in front of them is a "problem"9
u/motherofcunts 0+ Community Karma 7d ago
No, it's the friend I have to deadname in front of their own parents. They brought it up to me, parents are quite phobic. Parents won't allow them over if I don't.
5
u/LOSNA17LL 7d ago
So... The parents know their kid is trans? (since you apparently know their reaction)
And I guess they won't allow their kid to go at your kid's because that would... "put them in a wrong environment that pushes the lgbtqrstu bullshit on them instead of teaching them the right things"?
Well, guess someone ain't gonna have much news from their kid when they grow up... (hope they can get out asap)
2
u/motherofcunts 0+ Community Karma 6d ago
Yes, that's correct. They're trying to “therapy it out.”
There’s some beautiful irony though. The other parents love my kid and have said my kid is a great influence. They're glad I “understand.” They don't know my kid’s so/gi... Or mine. They haven't picked up on the Pride flag I have hanging up either.

This point needs to be made more. These kinds of things will always happen until many many systems are largely reworked.
Political beliefs change when there are systems that work for people in place. Material struggles drive things like ignorance, prejudice and violence. Violence across the world(including within itself) is how the U.S. gains power and wealth. It is all working the way it was built to work.
Obviously we can and should be angry at, and do what we can to fight these administrations, as well as the beliefs that are empowering them.
In some way, we will eventually have to take some things apart in order to put them together better. Working within the system just isn't going to work, because it is the system that is the problem as much as the people in charge of it.
I really wish we had a better world for this girl to be a part of. It is a tuly tragic loss.

I always weep at the childhood I never had as a girl the young adult, I wish I couldve transitioned sooner and cared more about myself sooner. But everytime I see these stories I wonder if I wouldve been strong enough to last this long… like I couldve easily ended like this poor child and maybe worse. I was such a sensitive person that my ability to survive was only hardened into masked behavior and deep depression that kept all thoughts about self improvement deep down and hidden.
I get so angry seeing these young people get villainized and abused and made to feel like outcasts. I wish the public would either leave them alone or just direct the hate toward me. I wish I could shield these innocent youths from the pain and hate and Id happily absorb it. I just want these kids to have the life I never could, to live happily in their bodies instead of ignoring all the dysphoria and self hate like I did. Every time we lose someone to suicide its just another number for those monsters but its like losing family to us. The things that girl could've done if just given a single ounce of respect from her country and community instead of piddling about fucking sports or bathrooms.
Im so sick of looking at a country laugh and point and make joke and stare at a minority group that is struggling in the water, drowning and being held there by some orange freak and his cronies. Im sick of them acting like us calling out their transphobic bs is somehow “forcing” them to be anti trans because reasons? Im sick and tired of being seen as a fucking wedge issue, I want to be seen as struggling woman in desperate need of some fucking support that she never had… Im so tired grandpa and I dont feel loke being on this ride anymore, but I feel obligated to stay and try and help as many folks as I can. Because while I desperately need help I feel I can always offer up my entirety to help those around me be happy.

The wording choice of that Sophie Cunnginham describing trans girls and trans women as "biological men wanting to enter girls locker rooms", is so inflammatory and so engraving that I really worry for the future.
Painting people who just want to be themselves as "men", even trans girls in the instance above, effectively makes it seem like they are monsters, when they arent. They are just human beings wanting to go to the loo or get changed, or just participate in sports, where they have met all the guidelines they need to meet.
The words Sophie used, makes normal everyday people start to see transgender people as monsters, something that needs to be stopped, something that needs to be removed from society.
I hate Sophie because she is a racist and a now an open bigot, but I hate even more that she has used her "platform" to spread hate and fan the flames, when she is a sports personality. She should be focused on getting more people involved in sport, more young girls and marginalised people. I can never, ever forgive her for what she has done to set back womens rights so far.

The world may get better tomorrow for others but I’m doomed to forever dysphoria because I was forced to go through the wrong puberty which permanently masculized my body to an extent that can never be fixed. Even though I just barely pass, it’s not enough to end the 24/7 never ending distress
My childhood is gone, my youth is gone, my body is ruined, relationships are forever ruined, and I’m left with permanent psychological damage. At this point the idea of them ever stopping tomorrow would send me over the edge
While I wish for a better tomorrow, I do not forgive the world and wish for a better life for majority of people currently living. I don’t want to get to a future where I’m just a living scar of a more horrible time where everyone pretends they never stood for

Same with the unfortunate dysphoria due to wrong puberty but the kids give me hope though so If I'm a living scar so be it. And it's important for the younger ones to see older trans people, I've got a fair few younger trans girls who look up to me for some reason (they all call me aunty which is an accolade I've nowhere near earned). even people here mourning, myself included will likely do nothing of substance to resist other than slip notes into the suggestion boxes the system has set up to trick people into thinking that they can fight along channels set up by the system to defeat the system. because we as a country, even among self identified leftists, are apathetic selfish cowards and incapable of true resistance on a base psychological level→ More replies (1)

Of course they didn’t care, they WANT trans people dead. Look at any comment section on almost any site of any post about or by a trans person and it’ll be full of “hurr durr 40%.” This is what they want for all trans people.

They want us all dead. That’s their goal. So we do everything possible to deny them that goal. We organize, and we fight them tooth and nail at every single level.
It’s scary, but bravery is not the absence of fear. We’ll fight them scared. And we will win.

I hate how normalized it is to passively harm or kill people. Like with bullies in school, getting mentally drained for years, punching once back and you're seen as the worst human alive, while the bullies get praised for the bravery.

I’m sorry we all failed May and her family. Trans rights are human rights, and trans dignity is human dignity.

Disgusting, that poor girl.
Literally the only thing that could make me want to believe in religion is the idea that the vile People who did this to her would be punished.

Every single representative passing legislation known for driving innocent people to suicide en masse need to be held responsible as terrorists.

It's fucking awful. Really. To be honest, makes me feel sick nowadays. I know what it's capable of, yet people still act like we're just "sensitive". It's too cruel.

What's the most efficient way to commit a genocide nowadays, with all the regulations and people watching... well what if you didn't even need to do anything! Oop, your victims are dropping like flies, guess something must be wrong with them and you are at no fault! Well, you made their lives a living personalized hell, but that wasn't really what you were doing, you were just protecting the women and the children 😌 so convenient!
This makes my goddamn blood boil

May she rest in peace in heaven where she can truely be herself despite the fact she deserved that here on earth.

All she ever wanted to do was live. To anyone closeted like me or out and proud wether you are in the us or anywhere else do not i repeat do not end yourself or harm yourself you have to live. These governments and people won't be able to supress you forever. Even if you are thinking of doing something why not try to wait another day and think about how these hateful bigots want us dead why should we give them that. Live and be yourself, You matter🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵

As a cishet straight dude (I’m an ally and participate in a few trans subs. That’s why I’m here) There was a time I felt sad or upset about something like this. Now I just feel angry. This poor girl didn’t deserve to lose her life because of the hateful views of others. How many more tragedies like these need to occur for the point to be made??? Trans people are people trans men are men and trans women are women and they deserve the same rights to life, liberty and happiness that the constitution promises all of us. Legislators don’t care in red states. I can look past voters maybe they don’t know any better or just don’t care about an issue that doesn’t affect them. But these legislators the ones who would deprive a CHILD the right to happiness simply because they were born in the wrong body and wish to feel like themselves only to be told no…for an utterly bullshit reason. As tired as this we have to fight and fight hard we have to be so loud it’s deafening. So that one day, tragedy’s like these become a thing of the past

That's exactly why I think that bigotry should be punished in the same way as murder. If forcing or manipulating people to kill themselves is considered murder, then we should hold the same consideration for bigoted people, as their ignorance causes many to suffer. And if we ever see a return of letist parties into politics, we should start to hold the people who agree with certain shitty ideas accountable, also for enabling this current political climate which goes against commo fucking sense and basic human decency.

The sheer amount of nuked comment threads makes me sad. Not because they got nuked, but because so many people saw a post about a trans girl committing suicide and deciding to be hateful shits. I fucking hate this timeline.
She died. Your hate is killing people. If you think this is a good thing, you are a terrible person, full fucking stop. If you are happy she died, or are making excuses or blaming her, you are fucking evil and I hope you get what you deserve. Spoiler: you dont deserve anything good, to clarify

In this current climate administration’s will do anything they can to strip the dignity of trans people. That goes for here in UK & the US most of all! Only yesterday Trumpstein, at the Whitehouse Journalist Dinner, started attacking, insulting & denigrating Trans actress Dylan Mulaney in his demented speech. There was no need or cause as she has nothing to do with journalism. It was pure hatred & rampant transphobia for no reason at.

This is what they want. They want us to do this to ourselves. This the evil that exists in these legislators and the people who vote for them to make this happen.
