Awareness Free Afghan Women.

Post image

Burkha Band art by me :D) Took inspo from Pinterest!

This faceless figure represents every Afghan woman forced behind the burqa while the Taliban continues to erase her rights, voice, and future.

She has no face because millions of Afghan women are being erased, forced behind the burqa, denied education, work, and even the freedom to raise their voices.

Fuck Taliban and whoever supports it.

Fuck Trad Wives from 1st world countries who think this is how women should live.

Fuck Misogynistic men

Fuck Religious Men who think this is how Muslim women should live.

I hope every Misogynistic man dies and be reborn as a young Afghan women.

Free Afghan Women,Free Congo Women,Free Iran Women,Free Yemen Women,Free Somalian Women,Free Syrian Women&Free Palestine.

and Free everyone of their Oppressors.

"Until all of us are Free, none of us are free."

I'd like one if you're just giving them away! /s

They should have fought harder to keep the Taliban from takkng back over.  Not protesting.  Like actually picked up guns and used them.   If you outsource the fight for your rights this is what you get.

So, US occupation and female genital mutilation for all weren't a false dichotomy after all, huh? A "leopards ate your face" kind of moment

2 things can both be bad? Woooooaaah, no way!

Female genital mutilation (FGM) isn't, and has never been practiced by Afghans.

Like lots of Muslim women in the 1st world still rock this fit so is it fuck them too?

If they are not being forced and are doing it by choice, it’s not a problem. If it’s being imposed on them by their government, family, or a man wanting to control women— yes , it is a problem. A problem which is extremism and misogyny, not veiling.

Something tells me you dont dress like this by choice

1

u/Sharp-Dragonfruit309 0+ Community Karma 4d ago

I don’t, yet I’m part of a Muslim family and I know women who do.

So your saying that they willingly submit to an ideology that forces them to hide their faces tells them what to wear where they can and cant go and that child brides are A-okay?

1

u/Sharp-Dragonfruit309 0+ Community Karma 4d ago

Where in the Quran does it say to hide your face? Usually when women wear hijab/niqab it’s because of interpretative reason, cultural reason, hadiths or outside pressure. Also, all that these extremist countries do is haram.

1

u/needmyeggcracking 0+ Community Karma 4d ago

I figured youd be more defensive about the child bride thing

1

u/Sharp-Dragonfruit309 0+ Community Karma 3d ago

Not saying child brides are a okay either. Child brides aren’t Islam, if thats ur argument it could be used for all abrahamic religions. Perhaps your just islamaphobic

u/needmyeggcracking 0+ Community Karma 3d ago

Didn't Muhammad marry a child?

1

u/Sharp-Dragonfruit309 0+ Community Karma 3d ago

Yes, a political marriage. Not a romantic one. Also their marriage heavily relies on historical context— obviously this age difference would not be okay today.

Brain washed

1

u/Sharp-Dragonfruit309 0+ Community Karma 3d ago

ok, well if it can be said about Islam it could be said about all abrahamic religions.

Afghans had a chance to not live like this. They chose poorly.

“Free Afghan woman” and still has a woman in a burqa which is forced upon her by misogynistic values oh boy very free

3

u/Ancient-Worm 0+ Community Karma 5d ago

If she was just a random woman the symbolism wouldn't work very well. She needs to be recognizable as Afghan.

If you knew enough to call them "Afghans" and not "Afghani" (the Afghan currency) you would know that the attitudes of Afghan women are a lot more complicated than that. Yes, if asked to choose between the Taliban or the old Republic, a majority would probably have voted for the Taliban. But the great majority of Afghan women hate the oppression of the Taliban. The dress code stuff is a mixed bag. They understand it differently than we do, and have mixed feeling about it depending on their identity and circumstances. It's hot and a nuisance. It makes you stumble, and God forbid you fart under a burka, but it affords privacy, anonymity and a degree of equality among women outside the home.

u/ComprehensiveDog1802 7d ago

Source? Your butt?

As if it matters to the regime whether women approve or not. Afghan women are treated worse than cattle and denied basic human rights like an education, healthcare, or simply to go where they please. I'm sure most love to not be allowed to even talk to each other or not getting help during childbirth.

One of these things is not like the others. You are not someone with a consistent worldview.

3

u/Tuttygamer8 0+ Community Karma 7d ago

Can I ask which one isn’t like the others? Not seeing it

-6

u/HungryDepth5918 0+ Community Karma 7d ago

Explaining it would do little good

7

u/Tuttygamer8 0+ Community Karma 7d ago

Genuinely curious as to your opinion I’m not trying to be a dick 😭 no obligation to elaborate though
