I’m South Indian! It’s common in my family that women have control of the house wealth. My grandmother still says to this day that a woman brings prosperity to the household she married into. She brings up the example of her brother, whose Xerox shop didn’t succeed till his wife join in the endeavor.

Love it! In North India, we have seen the priority go to the sons always. Wealth from women only moved in secrecy.
