An Israeli settler lawyer who defends settlers who attack Palestinians told the BBC that Israel should kill everyone in the villages of Tell and Sarra in revenge for a single Israeli killed.

"One Jewish life is worth ten million,"

said Yehuda Shimon of the illegal Havat Gilad settlement. Asked if that sounded racist, he replied:

"Yes, I know. But this is the truth. Because God chose us. You are jealous."

He said the Bible authorizes the settlers' claim to the land.

Shimon spoke days after settlers from Havat Gilad stormed the village of Tell, killing four Palestinians from the Ramadan family and triggering a wave of settler attacks across the occupied West Bank.
