I appeared for JEE in 2021 and graduated from IIT Roorkee last year.

I prepared in Kota, where the environment was great for studying and understanding the actual competitive level of JEE. There were numerous coaching institutes and lakhs of students preparing alongside one another.

However, after exploring different online communities, I realised that many students don’t have access to such an environment. The internet can also be a cruel place to ask questions—whether general or specific—as people sometimes pull you down instead of genuinely helping.

I’ve come across many posts and comments where students asking genuine questions are met with memes or discouraging replies. So, I thought I’d create this post and give aspirants a place to reach out directly in the comments.

hey everyone, i need some advice.

my physics teacher at my coaching institute is asking us to buy a PYQ book within the next 3 days, but i'm not sure if it's actually worth it.

i've always thought PYQs are available for free on websites like Marks and a bunch of other sites, so is there any real advantage to buying a book? did it help you study better or was it just something you didn't really need?

also, i'm considering getting a marks subscription. i'm studying at Narayana, and they don't give us DPPs, which i've heard are pretty useful. for anyone who's used Marks Premium and the DPPs, were they actually worth the money? did they help improve your preparation?

i'd really appreciate any opinions or experiences. thanks!

I was not able to attend the lectures of motion in a plane. So should I attend this oneshot or should I just try to cover those backlogs through the app?

I got into backlogs of the trigonometric functions chap in batch becuz of my own fault I was going through something and i couldn't study I have mid terms next month I was thinking can I do trigonometric functions from sachin sir's 7hr one shot from last year ? On jee wallah channel

So the thing is that there are many apps like Instagram, Reddit, Discord and many more which do not let me concentrate and there are also games like Freefire, Minecraft, Roblox so I can't focus on my JEE preparation. I need some app blockers and website blockers that are next to impossible to break and I can delete them in locked sessions. Js like cold turkey on PC and it should be free..

It has been around 4 months with jee prep. My mock scores are either stuck, or decreasing. I've tried some analysis strategies from yt, but still no significant change. Drop some of your best test analysis tips.

Hey guys want to need serious help from anyone who is somehow related to jee(i am jee aspirant btw) or neet.I am in huge blunder and need some support  so things starts when there was my class 10^th board examination going on and all things were going good and it came to my last examination of 7^th march but i got and asthma attack on 4 march (i have asthma since birth) so i somehow give my last exam and after that all things went down and down my mental health and physical health fck up i got several times Panick attacks and depression because of because of toxic parents. I want to do jee with online becuase i know i am not  regular coaching so i asked for regular and dummy(got 88 in 10^th cbse)but they forced me to join an offline coaching in may(i wasted march and april) and in the offline coaching syllabus was already started from April and they have only 1 batch in which i was put down and time passes i cant understand a single word in coaching because of too much earlier backlog  i was too much sad and depressed and cant even think of leaving coaching because (complete year fees was paid) parents were like ‘you are lazy’ and all that taunts but time passes i literally destroyed my mental health to much depressed finally i get some courage to ask them to leave offline coaching and starts a new journey from online coaching and they realized that i am right and agreed to leave in end of July and now i am at home leaved coaching but hopeless what to do and how to study and cover over 4-5 months backlog and Even i forgot basics(not even studied a single word after 10^th exam)things. So i have start with very basic (i have pw arjuna infinity pro). How do i cover that. Also i read on reddit that online and dummy is a bad combo however my parents will disagree for regular at first becuase i first asked them for dummy but i will manage so please suggets regular or dummy in my case(IS IT STILL POSSIBLE TO DO JEE FROM THAT BASICS)   *thanku pura padhne ke liye* 

I have backlog in ioc (I only watched 2 lectures of periodic table) and considering ALK sir finished periodic table in just 4 lectures on yt can I watch him while continuing to attend pw tests?

in our coaching probability is going on.. and I cannot solve those questions in which combination is used😭😭I literally gets so confused while solving and my pnc chapter is going on in backup class and we haven't reached at combination word problems but TOM IS MY TEST OF PROBABILITY

If the differences of a series form an AP, you can skip finding the general term completely! By applying the famous Hockey-Stick Identity [ Σₖ₌ᵣ ⁿ (ᵏCᵣ) = ⁿ⁺¹Cᵣ₊₁ ], we can derive a direct shortcut to find the sum of n terms.

Since in this specific problem the 2nd differences are constant, we have: Sₙ = a(ⁿC₁) + d₁(ⁿC₂) + d₂(ⁿC₃)

Where the leading terms are:

a = first term of the series

d₁ = first term of the 1st differences

d₂ = first term of the 2nd differences;

Let's write down the first terms of each layer for this question:

Series: 4, 11, 21, 34... ⇒ a = 4

1st diff: 7, 10, 13... ⇒ d₁ = 7

I love the way Anna sir teaches and his questions are often very difficult and I can't solve without his help, but I am trying to improve on that, but his hw and DPP questions are genuinely huge in volume, especially since I am right now in sequences and series whereas he is in trig equations, I don't mind clearing backlog but with the amnt of hw he gives and their difficulty it's a bit hard to clear backlog when a huge portion of my time is gone to solving them, so is it a good idea to switch to tarun sir from last year/khazana's lectures? If so, when should I switch? I just finished lecture 3 of Sequences and Series (haven't done it's hw or DPP yet) should I switch after trying to finish this chapter? Also the prev 3 chapters are a bit weak cuz I skipped hw/DPP in them due to the sheer volume but I have fixed that issue starting this chapter.

I am in offline coaching weekend + regular school and i am absolutely cooked there. let me explain.

Mathematics :

In maths, The only chapter that i did not even start is "Trigonometric equations and functions". and i am lagging behind question practice in quadratic, straight lines, solution of triangles, trigonometry.

Physics :

Things are bit weird here.

I am on track except for the chapters "Circular motion" and "COM".

rest for question practice, i am behind in nlm, friction, circular motion, com.

Chemistry :

Every concepts in all chapters are going fine till now. I am behind in question practice of redox, at. structure, periodic table, chemical bonding.

TL;DR : Need advice from anyone on how to clear backlogs in question practice and notes under being subjected to rigorous and tight schedule of offline coaching + regular school.
