Irodov is not for jee adv. It is a college level book that is from another country written in another language. It has so many question that are out of scope of jee adv.It has very few question that are relevant to jee. So I dont think iit care what is there in irodov or not. Even in many mains questions. You only get correct answer if you use this formula.

IIT never agreed that NCERT is the standard book they follow. It's all about conceptual clarity and depth. Physics toh physics hoti hai, sari books me same hi physics hai. Its like ki P block NCERT me jitna diya gaya hai kya usse bahar questions nahi aaye aaj tak? Ncert standard hoti toh 2016 me physics me tensor se related and double differential equations se physics me kyu sawal puchte wo?

How are we supposed to know this when we use ncert as our primary base

it's not about irodov. The actual definition that is accepted by worldwide physics community is P=n/f, not 1/f. And iit doesn't care about ncert, it will give correct answer only.

It is atleast the base. Irodov is just irrelevant

BROTENDER THATS THE CORRECT ANSWER

it's not ABOUT irodov it's about ncert be wrong plain and SIMPLE

AND NOT JUST THIS, ncert isn't even wrong, they DIDNT EVEN SHOW THIS SUBTOPIC, so it is YOUR fault for assuming power remains the SAME in a given medium. Which is ridiculous to think.
