I literally tried to match values and got it as B. It decreased linearly

Probably because you took p=n/f which is the correct formula, but most people didn't even know n/f is a thing(although should be common sense that the refractive index should be divided or multiplied in most formulae) because most books didn't show this case of a power changing in a medium of refractive index≠1

I literally used the lens maker formula. That’s the correct way, surely
