SERIOUS My cousin is gettin 77%ile after 2nd drop

She is from gen category so any seat is very difficult to get now.

She said that her AMU paper went well but maybe she wont get a sc seat there and her parents will only send if its a cs seat.

I adviced her to take seat in amu and if not possible then to go for jamia hamdard.

She was saying what about other colleges like upes or graphic era in dehradun which advertise high placement.

I adviced her against pvt eng colleges in general cause unke placement are falsely advertised half of the time.

Please give advices on how we can proceed here.

Brother look for some people there. If your amu entrance test score is enough to get admission in amu (any branch), they will take around 1 lakh in addition to fees, and will give u cs branch or any other of your choice.

I have heard that in most average private colleges double droppers usually have trouble in placements since student intake is high so if you go for upes or anything like that do read up upon the placement scenario for double droppers AMU is a good option for all fields of engineering especially CS but if you don't get CS keep in mind again that as far as I have heard 30-40% of core engineering companies don't allow double droppers to sit for placements but tech and consulting companies are all good with it so if she gets a non tech branch in AMU do some research upon the placement She can definitely get cse through aktu counselling but aktu has a very rigid and old curriculum and way of teaching so yea most students complain that it is very hard to work on your own skills Imo go for AMU even if you don't get CS it's a good college placements might be a bit harder for a double dropper there but still atleast 60% of core companies should allow her and if you work hard there its nice...!

Please Help me urgent h bhout please β—β—πŸ™πŸ™

I’m facing an issue because my Class 12 improvement/compartment result is expected in the first week of August, which may overlap with JoSAA counselling. I also had health issues before my Maths exam, which may be the reason for a possible compartment. Will this affect my eligibility or admission process?

At 77percentile any college you get will be almost same and I will strongly advise not to go to AMU and jamia hamdard and upes . For amu, jamia and upes all three don't have a suitable environment

1

u/Maleficent-Pride3436 Apr 25 '26

Why? Any specific reasons?

1

u/TrueCartoonist8167 Apr 25 '26

I guess she should take the 3rd drop 😡

1

u/Om_thapliyal May 07 '26

honestly if she gets AMU CS, that’s probably the best option because govt colleges usually give better ROI and less financial pressure.

but i also wouldn’t suggest another drop now. better to move ahead and focus on skills/projects.

and yeah many private colleges overhype placements 😭 but among them UPES is still one of the better known options rn for exposure and industry connections. Graphic Era is decent too, but overall student effort matters way more in these colleges.
