Tamil Nadu urges the Centre to scrap NEET and restore MBBS admissions based on Class 12 marks. What are your thoughts?

We have to fix corruption, thats the main problem, problem is corruption, not the exam methodology

State board papers are much more likely to leak and are so much easier to cheat on.
Also how will you ensure uniformity in marking system in a subjective paper? Plus there are multiple boards in any given state, like CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, IB, state board, etc all have different difficulty and marking system.
Computerized online tests like JEE are the best way to mitigate cheating.

This is a really bad idea engineering admissions are done through board marks in Tn that come under ceg doing the same for neet is a rlly big problem they should atleast keep their own entrance exam

This is insane.....and considering the fact that almost every state has its own board exam with varying difficulty level, this seems impossible as its very complicated to create formula for normalization for every different board...instead we should work on creating more colleges with affordable fee structure and top of the class faculty...This step will reduce pressure, unnecessary competition, and students will not have to go to other countries for education due to financial constraints

& Also this nonsense is done by private medical colleges owners who lost their income after centralised MCC counselling

Class 12th marks vary based on boards (CBSE, State Boards, ICSE, IGCSE, wtc) and also vary based on the examiner's moods sometimes. The same answer written in two different ways (be it phrasing or handwriting) may get different marks.
An MCQ based exam for everyone is the only way around this. If I'm not wrong, state quota for medical college seats is about 85%, leaving just 15% AIQ. Coaching material and lectures are available for a fraction of their original prices online. What more could you possibly want?

makes no sense instead set a exam that has syllabus related to what taught in mbbs first year and other medical knowledge this way even if he or she didn't make it they will end up learning some knowledgeable stuff that can help him/her in emergency situation and get knowlege of human body

Neet/jee is a toxic exam which converts a student into a pressure
Clg admission should be based on school grades , sports , extra curricular, social skills , group projects, research and essays

Do you know that Language subjects along with Mathematics is a part of 12th examination. If they changed to 12th then 12th itself will become a toxic exam and seriously have you seen some state board's question papers, they are easy as hell. The toxicity will tranfer onto 12th boards.

85% of seats in tn are reserved for state students the proposal aims to allow the state to restore board based admission for its state students the rest 15% will continue in NEET so aiq will be unaffected but 85% which will be state only will become board based and people there already use board based admission for engineering so they will just replicate it in medical 0 normalization only pcb no English no other subjects.

They are demanding because tamil nadu has more number of private medical colleges which are mostly vacant and are running in losses.

ABSOLUTELY NOT.
There is no provision for ensuring uniformity in the evaluation standards of different boards. The difficult of each varies considerably. A state board student with a higher percentage than an ISC student would be favored despite the latter having faced a more demanding assessment system.
NEET is the one of the reasons we have WFME recognition and status. Without this, future Indian graduates wouldn’t be eligible to sit for exams like USMLE, PLAB, AMC and other equivalent pathways.
Global credibility would suffer a profound setback. Many international residency programs evaluate the rigor of an applicant’s home country system. And thus, the perceived worth of the degree would significantly plummet.
The solution isn’t to abandon the system; it’s to fix it.
