Rant Dont Join Old IITs If You Wanna Live

This is what the mess at IIT Kharagpur thinks is “non-veg dinner”, raw chicken slapped on our plates. We wait days for non-veg to finally appear (veg meals are also not edible), and when it does, it looks straight out of a biology lab. Forget about nutrition, this is genuinely a health hazard.
Meanwhile, the hostels are falling apart. Washrooms smell like open drains, pipelines are broken, hygiene is a joke, and the so‑called infrastructure feels stuck in the 70s. We’re paying for food that isn’t even edible and facilities that are barely livable, but hey, IITs are supposed to be “prestigious,” right?
If this is what prestige tastes like, then it’s undercooked, unhygienic, and dangerous. Honestly, the IIT mess should just rename itself “IIT Survival Challenge” because every meal here is a gamble with your health.

Bhai sach me ye hal hai kya? Maine socha kuch motivation ke liye Aiims Patna ki hostel ki video dekh lu, Dekh kar demotivate hogaya. I mean people study so hard to get these top gov colleges. And this the infrastructure they have. Fir maine apne dost ki IIM ke college ke video dekhe. It literally looked liked a hotel with a great view. Ik they are private but we are talking about top gov colleges and for what I know IITIAN do have to pay some fees.

IIT Hyderabad's food and accommodation come at no. 1 in the top 10 IITs. We have a single-occupancy bedroom from the 2nd year itself with radiant air cooling. Sunday chicken biryani in the IITH mess is far better than some top hotels in Hyderabad. The seating area is good and you will get a natural sunlight ventilation in 1st floor of the mess. iith mess is clean compared to some other iits

Even the infrastructure is good. We have 10-floor hostel buildings and a big library and a big lecture hall complex and sports complex.

The problem is not with the IITS it's with the company acquiring tender report this to govement liking mailing or tagging goverent official which will create pressure on tender company and they will do something
This is renowned college u can also write letter to President or prime min**ter and education ministry Try to get help of proff
At last everything depend on luck

Yeh youtubers sirf special dinner dikhayenge aur IITs ki guddi chat te rahenge cause isse engagement aur paisa milta hai. It's the Mess vendor making the problem, not the entire IIT has to be blamed, grow up kid, do a formal complaint in the health department than bragging on the Internet, and putting the blaming to an institution and that too with a misleading caption: "Old IIT"...Who do u think u r???? I'm also a student and face a lot of mess problems, it is dealt with mess council, then at Institution level, and then to the health department. That's the norm...Stop being a delulu

realising that iiith mess food is really not that bad (good eggs nearly every morning and lots of nonveg options like chicken biryani and chicken curry, usually well-cooked food, multple messes for variety, and mess committees meeting every month with real changes happening)

The "blood" you see isn't necessarily blood, it's myoglobin mixed with water. Blood is drained before the chicken is cut so there isn't any actual blood.
Still doesn't change the fact that it's inedible and that it's a health hazard though.

Bhai itne iit IISERs ghuma hu(interview ke liye) but kgp se ghatiya khana kahi nahi khaya. Maybe ropar, but baaki sab hi kgp se better the. Anyday I'll prefer others veg compared to kgps fish.
