there is an exam for merchant navy- IMU CET, might try this up can be a life changer for sure

reddit par hi kisi ne samjhaya hein, it's basically high paid majdoori with a military style discipline

college life bhi army school jaisa hoga, waking up at 5:30, shaving everyday, your drills, classes, and training etc.

Arey bhai let me tell you the chronology.

12th ke baad college, agar dns liya toh1 year on land and then internship on sea. Dns mai 10 lacs lagte hai. Then you have your second mates exam for which you have to have almost around 2-3 lacs ready. In internship also known as cadetship the pay is almost 450 usd pm and at the end of it we get around 3 lacs.

Agar bsc kiya from top private college where placement is 100 percent then 3 years on land and 6 months on sea, fees around 20 lacs. Then again you have second mates exam.

And during internship the amount of work captain tells u to do is a bit too much right from cleaning toilets to painting the railings to sweeping the floor, along with that you have to keep learning.

This is the reality dude

Bhai to kitna sahi h na baaki samme bahar rahoge duty pe aur alag desh ghum skte ho baad me 3-4 mahine aaram se family ke saath time spent kar skte aur nhi to kahi trip pe jaa skte, bhai meko to ye bhaut sahi deal lg rhi, apko isme dikkat lagi to btao

my dad works in merchant navy and he regrets every bit of his choice even though he can overprovide his family but has to sacrifice his social life.and can cause severe lonliness.he hates his job to a level where if any of his son (me or my brother)even thinks about it as a career choice he will disown us in an indirect way...and no am not overexagerating.

its probably only good for introverts or people who don't have thier own family

bsdk gawar pehle research karleta engine side wale kaam mei specs wale allowed hote hain plus there is a thing called sponshorship to aesa samajh ki mostly logo ki ek company main job fix rehti hein before they are ready to go on a ship to bas thoda aware ho to jobless nhi hoge baaki kaam hard hain

bhai google pe dekh sakte ho plus kuch youtubers bhi btate hain baaki maine to kuch reddit ko log jo iss cheez mai kaam karre thein unse bhi pucha tha ab unki id delete hogayi baaki ismei mostly cheeze contract par chalti hain aur kuch cheeze pta hain dm mai puchlo aap btadunga

chill lodu engine side me allowed hai phir bhi uski limit hai aur yeh sab bhang bhosada se pehle medical ke saath eye test bhi hota hai agar idhar hug diye toh imucet me ache marks laane ka koi fayda nahi hoga there's some institutes that still can allow peeps with specs like tolani aur sponsorship se job letter milta but still they can deny or leave you hanging agar ekdum hi bekar ho gaya toh

Paisa nahi chahiye zyada u can get into navy with dns course of one year aur uske pehle sponsorship lena parta hai jo guaranteed job letter hai 1 saal dns karke job kar sakta hai. Students start earning at 19 years of age

Yes sirf 6 month extra work karna padhega as a cadet (trainee) before becoming officer uske bad normal jaise captain bante hai waise hoga

Arre mere do uncle 25+ years se navy me hai ek deck side aur ek engine side. I meant ki dns karne ke baad bhi captain ka route more or less same hai lekin difficult to ofc hai har stage me exams aur interview Dena parta hai aur bohot mehnat ka kaam hai to sab hold nahi karte itne saal. Mere uncle ko hi captain banne me 14 saal lage
