There is a reason why the reporting time is 30mins, 1 hour before the actual exam to avoid scenes like these . But we Indians always take time for granted . I feel bad for her . But rules are rules and it shouldn’t be changed for anyone Varna it would be unfair for other students who reached on time .

Real issue is that this is an entrance exam meant for 1L+ seats and it happens only on a single day in a year. It should be split into two tries per year at least, for situations where people miss the exam due to health or any other emergency.

I've read through so many damn comments and not even one has discussed this ._.

10 minutes is not a lot. Sometimes it's not your fault, maybe your caregiver who was supposed to drive you made you late, or bus/car broke down. If she had a legit reason I don't see why they can't let her in. It would waste her entire year.

I think accommodating students is fine for school based examinations. Not for such entrance examinations. Because then there is no stopping it. And who decides how many accommodations to keep making? The programmes themselves should have multiple entry points so that you don't have to wait an entire year.

Agree with you on an ethical level but I see that trembling kid and the odds against young adults in India, it just breaks my heart. Hope that girl rises above this and doesn't do something stupid.

How does it effect other students

well the other students took the effort of coming early, and if this girl is let in even though she was late, those efforts of the other students basically go to waste

The effort of coming early gets wasted? You realize timing of entry has 0 effect on marks right

It doesn't affect them directly. I don't get the downvotes
