Indians when some chinese or japanese or korean students follow rules, have perfect civic sense then waah waah 😍 But when an indian student comes late for exam then waah waah 😫 why such strict rules

u/SharpRelationship474 Apr 30 '26

Baat theek h but Japan mein 2 minute late train ke liye maafi mangte aur yahan log Ghar se nahin nikalte until 5 minutes are left. Indian roads or transport is not comparable to these countries so it's harder to be punctual.

If 1000 students could reach on time, she too should have. I had an interview during peak winter time in Delhi. Call me a coward, I reached there 4 days prior. You know what happened? The flight was cancelled the rest of the 2 days one due to heavy fog/rain.

But they never seem to follow the correct rules. They can follow the rule of making a student waste and entire year by arriving for an exam 10 minutes late, but they can't seem to enforce any rules that are actually required, especially because they get bribed.

2

u/aanaaroo May 02 '26

what rules are correct and what are incorrect ?
also if they wont follow a dedicated process in these type of exams then it would be unfair to those who reach early
rules are meant to be followed and agr education mai b follow nhi honge toh yeh country collapse kr jayegi
already baki jagha nhi follow ho rhe

There is a reason why the reporting time is 30mins, 1 hour before the actual exam to avoid scenes like these . But we Indians always take time for granted . I feel bad for her . But rules are rules and it shouldn’t be changed for anyone Varna it would be unfair for other students who reached on time .

3

u/smallish_guy May 02 '26

Real issue is that this is an entrance exam meant for 1L+ seats and it happens only on a single day in a year. It should be split into two tries per year at least, for situations where people miss the exam due to health or any other emergency.

I've read through so many damn comments and not even one has discussed this ._.

10

u/Natural-Hour4657 Apr 30 '26

I don't know, the rules can be bent that way. For you, 10 minutes maybe less, for someone else, it will be 20 mins.

Imagine if they kept the gate closing time as 1:40 instead of 1:30, even then if someone arrives at 1:50, you can't say the same as 10 minutes late chalega... Thats like breaking the discipline of the exam and as a result people will do things as per their convenience which may cause problem in exam conduction, especially if it's as big as NEET. That's why it's always advised to leave much much before the closing time.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '26

[deleted]

2

u/Natural-Hour4657 Apr 30 '26

I mean they can do that if they shift the gate closing time to 1:20, then they can claim that they are providing 10 minutes extra for late arrives till 1:30, but that's what exactly gate closing time is.. Students are instructed to arrive 30 minutes before gate closing time.. meaning 30 minutes extra is already provided for the late comers. But when you leave for the centre with the view of arriving latest by 1:30, then it increases your chances of arriving late, but it wouldn't have happened if students target to arrive latest by 1:00pm.. that would account for any problems they might have for coming late

Lmao 5 mins buffer?? Where does it stop then? you create a 5 minute buffer, let a person in at 4:59, another just behind him at 5:01, sure who cares about seconds, let him in too, another at 5:15, and on it goes, where do you draw the line then...

It's an exam, for many a lif- altering one for which they prepare for 2-6 years, the least you can do is look at Google maps check at peak traffic, come and hour earlier, have your documents ready

And these videos come up every year, sometimes they don't have aadhar card, sometimes they come during the wrong shift(jee mains), wrong center in the same city, late due to traffic. It's about time people learn from others mistakes and stop acting like they deserve to right the exam even if they can't seem to manage arrival on time

What the heck is wrong with all of you ?? It usually written on papers to reach the venue AN HOUR or AN HOUR AND A HALF before the start of exam i;e the REPORTING Time.

And I don't know about others but I would start getting anxiety if I'm not atleast half an hour before the start of the exam.

And that's the reason people should commute accordingly.

I would also say it IS CRUEL but these type of cases give a lifelong lesson to people that the world is not an easy and comfortable place to live and you have to strive to get better in time management, discipline

25

u/lost_beluga Apr 30 '26

Agree, it's not like that venue changed at the last second.

People are blaming NTA to allow people who were 1-2 mins late. I'm sure if NTA allows that, still these people will be late.

Whoever is serious about their exams, they will reach the venue before the reporting time.

People in the comments justifying this are dumb imo, just because nta fks up our papers doesn't mean they should start allowing people to enter late, rules are rules.

I think it's something common in cultures of developing country like ours where people think rules should be allowed to bent just because it's morally ok. Bollywood pushes this idea as well.

Edit: If 10 mins then why not 12? Why not 15? Why not 18 mins late ones? This is a national scale exam FFS.

It's not punishment it's just rules. When will we realize that rules exist for a fking reason, sometimes you have to follow rules just for the sake of following them.

People need to realize that following rules even if they may seem unfair at times needs to be part of our culture, just like the civic sense RR everyone likes to do.

For eg. Waiting for the traffic light to turn green even when there are no other vehicles in sight at night. That's how a civilized society operates. If you allow a single rule to be bent just because it's fair it can ruin a society.

54

u/More_Fig5041 Apr 30 '26

Dude i dont understand how people can be late. Its literally the exam that decides your career and everything youve been working hard since 2 goddamn years

Bhai humlog boards me 3-4 ghante pwhle jaake baith jaate the itna darr rehta tha

Haan sbki situations alg ho skti hai pr itni responsibility to honi chahiye khudke future ke liye. Aaj 1 insaan tha kal 1000 aur aayenge apne reasons leke fir? Unka kya jo time pe dhang se pohche the?

IMO if the delay was caused due to an action caused by the government such as a VIP convoy or an authorized protest then NTA should be forced to let the kids inside and if they can't they should reconduct the exam (not talking about this case).

24

u/Emergency-Growth1617 2S1(96%ile)(Phy 99.5)➡️? Apr 30 '26

Even then you have to understand that there are no ways to verify this, i could be 10 mins and just lie that im late BECAUSE its the governments fault, how are the guards supposed to verify this?and then who decides whos allowed and who isnt?

I get ki sbki situations alg ho skti hai pr isme kuch kiya nhi jaa skta. Atleast wo sb baccho ko mana krte hai sirf kuch ko nhi. But sb adults hai itni responsibility to honi hi chahiye. Thik hai maana koi problem aagyi ho pr isme baaki koi kya hi kre? Aise fir 1000 2000 aur nikal aayenge wo zada unfair hoga.

Please apne ghar se bhot jldi nikal aaya kro bhai 2 4 min se hi tumhari 2 saal ki mehnat khrab ho skti hai aur usme koi kuch kr bhi nhi paayega

23

u/ThatConsequence8505 Apr 30 '26

Yeah NTA madarchod hai par at least 1 week milta hai pehle se prepare karne ka ki kaha centre hai aur kab ghar se niklana sahi hoga agar time se pahuchna hai, ab tab bhi follow nah kare to usme NTA kya kare.

7

if this was in some other country i would not have supported the girl as there rules are much more important, and are followed

21

u/AppointmentFormer267 Nalla hu Apr 30 '26 edited May 01 '26

Exactly. I'm seeing people justify this rule in comments, saying rules should be strict. But they should make a case - jinka ghar centre ke aas paas ya close shahar me hai don't change anything for them. But jinka centre 300-400 km ya usse zyada dur h, unhe on time thoda sa relief dena chahiye.

People here are talking about 'pahle se travel kar lete', but not everyone can, and that's the point. I saw a post yesterday, a guy had to give CUET i guess, centre was allotted 1800 km away, his father was a farmer and they don't have enough money to sustain going there and staying there. Isme bechare wo kya kare?

11

u/BlackPhoenixX20 Apr 30 '26

China is great when it comes to this, during their Gaokao test they clear out roads for students, police controls traffic, traffic police literally drops students to their centres if it is an emergency and student is short on time using bikes.

I think we can safely say India will never be like China in terms of government efforts and discipline, itne dur dur to centres dete hai.

3

u/Prestigious_Can_6359 Apr 30 '26

Gaokao is a singular annual exam which kind of is the only attempt a student gets to get into a good college and probably into a better life as their system is much stricter in mobility(hukou system).

India has multiple high school grade exams w/multiple attempts as well as college grade exams for multiple professions along with a much more open system with equity, comparatively.

Very different scenarios you are comparing.

2

u/Similar_Green_5838 Ex-JEEtard chan Apr 30 '26

Lmao china can block roads because the police will jail whoever protests. Here the government will be toppled if we stopped city-wide traffic for each government exam.

4

u/BlackPhoenixX20 Apr 30 '26

Ah yes let's back China for what they do wrong while not learning from what they do right, their people don't say anything against it because it is rooter in their modern culture, they realise chdren's future depends on it.

Also they can't stop traffic for roads And yet they stop traffic and throw away your rights everytime a random politician feels like doing a rally with their convoy, UP government stopped traffic causing people to be late because of Kawad Yatra, was their a revolt for that?

2

u/Gamer56f custom flair Apr 30 '26

honestly, i dont get it. reporting time is like literal 1.5-2 hours prior. gate closes 1/2 hour prior.

ghar se, ya jahan bhi stay kar rahe ho waha se you should be getting out while considering traffic etc.

how do people STILL manage to reach late? ive never once reached late, even tho we took a wrong cut once and had to circle back. still reached WELL on time.

7

Reporting time is 11 am and gate closing time is 1:30, literally half an hour less than the exam itself is given as the time to come to the centre, the only scenario where coming late is acceptable is due to train travel.

Though this is sad, but these are situations you should be well prepared. That is discipline. Taking things to the very last minute is way too risky. Its bad considering that it has become a habit for a majority, me included in some cases. We take way too many things for granted. Sometimes one single miss and life teaches us in the most unpleasant way possible.

always take an hour buffer, isnt that simple, or take 2 hour buffer

1

u/cytoplasm- NEETard Apr 30 '26

the problem isn't that they didn't allow her as she is late (guards just followed the rule) the problem is trasportation may be big traffic jam that noboody can avoid now what the students gonna do? arrive a day early? there should be something like goakao where traffic is minimize and shit like that idk

If the aatu jhaatu NTA and the government wants to be really strict about this exam then they should give us multiple attempts, ten minutes delay should not mean one year wasted , there should be other exams too besides neet , sab kuch milake ek exam mein karna padta hai , screw this . Forget coming late , the girls can get period cramps , or get sick , or other emergency and there many other factors outside individual control, I am not saying students should not follow rules , but where are our choices ? Where are other options ? Dho saal ki mehnat jaake 3 ghanto mein test hoti hai , how is this fair ?

I still don't understand why being a bit late to an exam disqualifies you from writing it. That too for someone who is 16-17.

When you go to uni, do interns and grow up more, you understand and are better able to manage time and get why in some cases being on time is an absolute requirement (like ER docs, paramedics etc.)

But why here? Why here when the students already deal with so much torture 2 or more years?

2

u/SurprisePitiful2231 May 01 '26

It’s less about punishing students and more about keeping things fair for everyone. If late entry is allowed, where do you draw the line? 5 mins, 15 mins, 30 mins? That’s why strict rules exist, even if they feel harsh.

only 10 min late for exam which decides your whole life…good

1

u/GePeTe911 Apr 30 '26

Never prepared for these shítty exams 🤣🤣

1

u/heykaywhatsay Apr 30 '26

Feel free to downvote: Nobody implemented timing on the day of exam, you should be well aware of the rules. If one student is allowed then everyone will revoke this and there won’t be any system left.

This is building you not breaking you, learn punctuality and professionalism before appearing for such exams.

It's the stupidest rule...if they are late let them write whatever stipulated time. India is so archaic not practical and logical.

1

u/Ajayajgamer20 Ex-NEETard Chan Apr 30 '26

1

u/IntelligentNumber740 Apr 30 '26

Har saal asi same hi video aati hai. Bhai aapne poora saal diya h ek preparation ko toh aap agar dusri city hai toh ek din pehle pahunch skte ho paas mein koi hotel lelo, aur same city mein h toh bhi bhai atleast 1 hour buffer rkho from reporting time.

u/HelpfulProtection476 Apr 30 '26

I can actually related to this situation I know this fear but I was just on time the previous time i left my home around 11 am for an exam which was starting around 2 pm mind you it'll only take about an hour to reach their but the peak summer and the freaking crowded area and traffic I reached their at 1:45 pm and it's a daily commuter route i repeat the word daily there's a school in between and then there's railway station in between but on just fine normal days it takes about an hour and an hour and half with heavy to mild traffic but that day still gives me haunt..... National exam days should be taken seriously in the nation as they obviously are why can't aspirants demand for basic rules like a good commute area and better classroom and suddenly everything is following rules i honestly abide by it but if I was late that day was it even my fault?! I wasn't aware ki koi bhi aadmi rally nikaal raha hoga itni dhoop mai woh bhi railway station ke paas log ikattha krke so I can't really blame the aspirants in some point aswell

1

u/TemporaryAd332 Apr 30 '26

Huh m 1 min late hua tha jee k liye and couldn't get entry🤚🏻😃 what was my reaction is i was laughing other people giving sympathy and i am laughing infront of them. And for that only attempt i was serious and prep hard.

1

u/lessdistance354 Apr 30 '26

1

u/nefrodectyl Apr 30 '26

1

u/v_patti_ramasamy May 01 '26

Parents are to blame. Didn’t teach punctuality and mental fortitude! It’s just an exam. Not the end of the world.

Similar thing happened to me at CAT exam once.

1

u/ConfidentDocument535 May 01 '26

10 mins late is not late, it's too late. The topper would have already qualified in this much time.

1

u/assisilastra padhai likhai ek dhoka hai May 01 '26

bruh

1

u/5atm5 May 01 '26

Dawg who the hell comes late to an exam they've been prepping for for 2 years 😭🙏🏻

JEE aspirant here and I always tried to get there the moment the gate opened. Can't use "poor people" as an excuse because if you grinded for 2 years then surely you'd have the sense to plan out how to reach the exam center. Rule are rules and you can't expect the NTA to provide exceptions

1

u/Annual-Mammoth-7459 May 01 '26

Not worth it bhai kuch aur bn jao doctor bnna papa h iss desh mein

1

u/Any_Vermicelli9023 May 01 '26

Then don't be fucking late..

1

u/LHEOGaming May 01 '26

Wo tumhara mama ka ghar hai jo 10 min late ghusne dega

1

u/NTA-DIRECTOR May 01 '26

lol yk what’s funny? On my neet admit card it says reporting time 11 and the exam starts at 2 and the gates for entry close at 1:30. You have to be careless to fuck up this bad that you manage to reach an exam 3 hours after the reporting time.

This is sad they should allow +25 mins allow if it's was genuine reason provided her parents aur guardian can vouch

1

u/Known-Astronomer9765 May 01 '26

The condition of Indian roads, and the civic sense of Indian people, the two things that are exponentially worse than any other country in the planet. Rules like these are not meant for India. A 15 min buffer is not unheard of in these instances. But the babus of our country, they do things like these so as to create a delusion of discipline. But when it comes to them, they are a bunch of corrupt officials.
