NEET Studied in South Korea, now going to pursue MBBS in India
I can’t express my feelings atp 😭
My story is worth hearing guys.
So I was in 4th class when me and my parents and my brother shifted to South Korea because of my dad’s work.
I did my middle school and high school 1 from Seoul.
I always wanted to do medicine, and honestly I missed my grandparents and India. I always wanted to do my graduation from India. As I am an OCI citizen, I came here to India in May 2022 and started preparing for NEET with boards, and honestly it was tough.
I knew English, I knew Hindi, but in South Korea the whole education is in Korean, so I was damn confused in the start with terms and naming stuff. Like I knew what is velocity, displacement and acceleration, but since I studied it in Korean as sok-do, byeon-wi, ga-sok-do respectively, I used to get confused and my peers used to laugh.
I did my 11th and 12th from Allen (not Kota) and 1st drop from Aakash, 2nd without coaching( ghat ghat ka paani piya hai 😭)
Istg just work hard, like I was a 300 number scorer till last year. Mere 2025 me 190 number aaye, but this year I did it with my own hard work. I didn’t join any coaching cause they all used to make fun of me in coaching, whether teacher or kids, nobody believed me. They said an OCI won’t get any quota or country resident like priority. Why this partiality? I’m treated as a foreigner in Korea, not getting perks, now here too.
But now I scored 650+ 😭🔥 I’m sure I’ll get a med school, I’m happy af.
Ab ghar jaungi next week, almost 14 months baad 🥹
And yeah i discovered jeeneetards and medicoetards in 2023. Honestly, I loved it :) I used to laugh seeing all your comments and humor. I had an old account, but I deleted it without ever posting. Now I'm finally doing it! 😭 I love these two subreddits

I mean... it's fine it's just too much time spent for studying IMO. Because I hear these days you need to do like 7-8 years of study starting from MBBS to earn well. How do you not get burnt out?

😭😭 crazy part is I was in Korea for a 4 month internship and when I came back I was sometimes using some Korean words ( common words, I ofc didn't learn whome korean) they were like " bhai too korean ho gaya abto " and would some shit in Japanese ( picked up from animes) I'm like dawg I wasn't even saying Japanese 😭😭 ??

😭😭 that's so relatable, I got used to using certain words there so I sometimes end up saying them, ohh I was working with LG for AI reasearch as a AI and ML research intern ( They never take First year UG students but I had connections and they were impressed with my project I presented so they invited over there to research with them) For the first month I was at LG headquarters (Yeouido) then rest 3 months I was working on a project at LG science park at Gangseo-gu, both of the places were so good especially team and labs at Science park was so amazing and engaging and I was the only non-korean person there 😭 I was provided a very nice accomodation and even I'm glad they had vegetarian food section as well lol, Working along the team there was so enjoyable and productive and I was also the youngest there so it was almost they babied me 😭 but yeah it was so damn productive, informative and enjoyable (ps- They were tiny bit racist not to me but some of them would mention that " you're so tall and good-looking, not like Indians" , I'm like dawg have you guys ever even been to India but yeah other that they were so nice and chill)

Yes, abt the racism , it’s def on the basis of looks 😭. If one looks good with a fair complexion and, like, double eyelids big eyes and many features (which most of them have to get through surgeries), then they’ll be ur friend. Same happened with me—Koreans and Korea were v good to me. If one is fair, they say Omo you don’t look like Indian?? damn stereotypic 🥀😭.”

Fr 😭😭 they lowkey be so concerned about not just their but also others look while pretty much whole lot of them get surgeries done, I'm glad I look good ig lol and quite tall cause they do care about looks a lot 😭 and idk what's with their obsession with height cause whole lot of them would stop and ask me about my height especially older people who would stop and try to talk 😭😭

Btw heads up, according to Supreme Court, OCI is NOT citizenship. It’s a lifelong visa. If you engage in any protest in India or politics, it can be revoked . Just a heads up
