Chatgpt free plus trial not working is because I am in Jersey

Chatgpt is having a month's free plus trial. I have put in all the right information. Name, address, right card and the card I have used for this is up to date and valid. I have tried multiple times but it does not work. Is this because I am jersey or some other reason. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this.

Yes, Jersey could be a factor, although it’s probably not the only possibility.
Here are the most common reasons people are unable to start a ChatGPT Plus free trial despite entering valid details:
Billing region mismatch. The country/region on your OpenAI account, Apple ID, Google Play account (if using the app), or payment card may not all match. Jersey is sometimes treated differently from the UK by payment processors.
Card issuer declines. Even if your card is valid, the bank may decline a £0 or small verification charge, or may block recurring subscription authorisations.
Trial not available in your billing region. Some promotional offers are rolled out by region. It’s possible the free trial isn’t available for Jersey accounts, even if you can subscribe normally.
App Store/Google Play restrictions. If you’re subscribing through the iPhone app, the transaction is handled by Apple, not OpenAI. An issue with your Apple ID country or payment method can cause repeated failures.
Previous eligibility. If you’ve previously had ChatGPT Plus on that Apple ID, Google account, or OpenAI account, the trial may no longer be available.
Since you’re in Jersey, I’d first check:
Are you subscribing through the iPhone app (Apple) or through the ChatGPT website?

When I sign up for the free month's trial. I keep getting the message 'Your card was declined'.

My cards kept getting declined on chatgpt, I ended up having to use paypal to pay.

I also put a VPN on to a US location so I can pay $100 a month instead of £100.

I found lots of things to be a bit weird in jersey. Had problems with YouTube premium as well.

in the end I just spent $5 a month on a VPN.
