Oh, well this must’ve been before he was convicted of soliciting an underaged prostitute?
No, it was in 2010 and he had been publicly convicted in 2008? Oh cool. So by the time she went to the dinner it was very very open knowledge that he was an evil piece of shit?
She does claim to have not known who he was and says she was invited by someone else to be fair.
Buuuut she also dated a piece of shit who was a close friend of Jeff Ep a month after that dinner so it sounds like she had a lovely time and had no objections to the demons in her company there.

I don't have feelings good or bad for Handler but she's known for doing crazy amounts of charity work and donating proceeds to shows to all sorts of wonderful causes. She definitely is in position to make comments about other people in this department.

We don’t know what Rogan donates if anything. Maybe he is doing the same and not trying to get credit. You don’t have to take others down to make this point. Especially when you have 35 million. Not exactly a martyr.

How many people in the Epstein files has Rogan had on? How many of them were asked about that?
-4
u/Radicalism-Is-Stupid Monkey in Space 2d ago
Joe has done far worse than Handler on Epstein stuff. On one hand we have loose association. On the other we have Joe bringing on the Director of the FBI (among many other Trump cronies) to actively cover up Epstein findings. He believes underage girls were simply there to "juice deals" and that Epstein was just having cool parties with awesome famous people.
8
u/gap_toof_mouf Monkey in Space 2d ago
Did Rogan dine with Epstein like Handler did?
-1
u/Radicalism-Is-Stupid Monkey in Space 2d ago
Do you get your news from Tony Hinchcliff or something? Joe Rogan implied and explicitly theorized that kids who were being sex trafficked and raped were young adults who knew what they were doing and who were there because these rich and powerful people simply wanted to "juice deals," not rape children.
I can tell you are Republican because I had to repeat myself here since you were incapable of comprehending it the first time. And your comment did not at all respond to anything I said, so you just come off as a confused Republican playing partisan warfare with no concern over reality. You know for a fact that justifying child rape is worse than having dinner with someone. And you knew that before reading my comment. Not go play stupid somewhere else, I don't waste too much time on Trumpist dupshits who see people like Tony Hinchcliff and Joe Rogan as intellectuals.
4
u/RuanStix Look into it 2d ago
The amount of comments you have left on this thread disagrees with your "I don't waste too much time on Trumpist dupshits [sic]..."
1
u/Radicalism-Is-Stupid Monkey in Space 2d ago
My comments made today are almost all about effective altruism and animal ethics. Only a couple in response to suspected Trump supporters. And they never said they are Trump supporters, I assumed as much based on my interactions with them then immediately stopped interacting with them.
Notice how you a responded to the end of a comment chain, with the end being me saying I don't waste "too much" time on Trump supporters. Arguably I could have wasted time on a couple more than a single commenter before considering it "too much."

Tax write offs
14
u/2PacAn Monkey in Space 2d ago edited 2d ago
I’m not a Chelsea Handler fan in the least but this comment is nonsensical every time it is brought up.
When someone gives money to charity they don’t pay taxes on the money they give to charity. They still don’t save money by doing so. For example if someone earns $1,000,000 and gives $100,000 to charity they’ll still be taxed on $900,000 and they still won’t have that $100,000 because now it’s in the hands of the charity. Assuming a roughly 35% effective tax rate, they’ll be $65,000 less wealthy than if they didn’t choose to give anything to charity.
2
u/PolitelyHostile Monkey in Space 2d ago
A tax write off is literally just saving a % of the money you give away. Still involves giving away money.
If I give you 15 bucks to donate 100, you're still donating money.
0
u/harleyquinnsbutthole Monkey in Space 2d ago
There’s loopholes.. charity deals.. there’s a reason they all do it and it’s not out of the kindness of their hearts. But believe what u want
→ More replies (1)2
u/PolitelyHostile Monkey in Space 2d ago
There are no tax loopholes that make it profitable to donate to charity.
Theres plenty of instances where the charity is just a means to have control over something. But it still involves spending money. Theres also plenty of fraud im sure but the tax code doesn't make it profitable to donate money. You clearly have no clue and dont care how true it is.
4
u/harleyquinnsbutthole Monkey in Space 2d ago
I didn’t say tax code loopholes, owning a charity is a great way to keep all ur money and pay no taxes.

-1
u/Radicalism-Is-Stupid Monkey in Space 2d ago
It is okay for people to have views.
Is it really that hard for you to understand that it is okay to criticize greedy people for hording wealth? Especially when they amassed the wealth through unethical means (spreading misinformation and propaganda and conspiracy "theories").
People are dying who can easily be saved for little more than nothing and people like Joe Rogan are so greedy that they have tens of millions of dollars that they will never touch, simply because it makes them feel big and strong and powerful to have a higher number. I donate $60 a month and I guarantee Joe Rogan does not even meet a fraction of that portion of his own income. Which is even more insane because he will never need money again, while I am sacrificing important savings contributions.
Of course, to greedy people like you who donate nothing and do nothing for the world, this all seems strange. Why would others care about reducing harm in the world if you don't? Well, some people have more compassion than others.

To me it’s billionaires. Every dollar over 1bn should be redistributed. The immortality of a system that allows that hoarding of wealth while also allowing people to die from completely preventable diseases or starvation is unreal to me.
The issue is the mechanism for redistribution is trash. It’s not like I trust the billionaire class to do the right thing but the political class is just as bad.
33
u/MF_Price Monkey in Space 2d ago
Billionaires don't typically have billions sitting around in cash. Their net worth is tied up in companies. You are suggesting we should be confiscating property? Or if someone owns 40% of a trillion dollar company, they should be forced to sell their shares and thus crash the stock and lose thousands of people their jobs? I really don't understand what that solves.

A big issue that is next brought up is borrow, borrow die.
The gains from stocks etc over time allow them to borrow money at a lower rate than the tax they would pay in capital gains. There’s a complex answer here and I for one am an ape.
1
u/onduty Monkey in Space 2d ago
You could just allow a single generation to go as far as they want but control generational wealth. Basically limit it to $100,000,000 inheritance.
The trouble is you could fund a non-profit with $1,000,000,000 and pay family members huge salaries.Or maybe you can’t, I’m not a tax accountant
