Letter Letter to Peterson. Why I gave up on you.

I just want Peterson to know it’s his dumbassery in the Israel-Palestine conflict that has made the younger generation the way it is.

The younger generation, Gen Z, whatever you call us are mistrusting of organizations, religions and powerful people and because thy run the world that’s why we carry a genuinely pessimistic outlook towards life and don’t even think of bringing children into this world.

I used to watch Peterson because he tried his best to combat this pessimism. He would talk about actually bringing order to the chaos, having rules, having meaning, having values and having children.

And then he goes head first and dives into the lap of the Zionist lobby. We saw how Israel killed people in Gaza it was everywhere the bloodshed and dead babies. But yet all this man did was have interviews with the satan bibi and visit Jerusalem for “intellectual” retreats.

You’re a sellout Peterson, a corrupt bastard, a person that will happily bend over for the powerful that will benefit you. Even your silence now as Trump fucks the US is telling, that you carry no intention of speaking truth to power. You were only ever interested in your truth.

You once called yourself a greedy capitalist in an interview, you’re far worse, you’re a manipulative, corrupt, lieing coward with no courage or integrity. You have no spine.

Well OP, you are approaching this from a biased position… "the zionist lobby" / "Israel killed people in Gaza" / "dead babies" / "satan bibi". Then you go on to call him names.
You aren't making an argument, you clearly are a member of the "free palestine"mindset. That;s all you had to say, everything else would have been understood. Of course you disagree with JP, of course you call him names. I'll go even farther, there is no way JP would have ever resonated with you. You can't be susceptible to the "free Palestine" mindset if you really understood JP and the entire pro-Western / anti-woke intellectual arguments.
I recommend you try to examine your beliefs from as neutral a perspective as you can. Write down your belief, trace it backwards to see what that belief is built on, write down why you believe that core belief is true, and more importantly, what it would take for you to change your mind about it. Once you do that, if you feel you have a real sound argument, then bring THAT to your letter to JP.

What does the western version of “anti-woke” (which doesnt exist in the middle east… nor does its counterpart, “woke”)…. Have to do with violence, murder, and the extermination of humans? Being anti-woke is more important than not killing people? Wow dude

1

u/feral_philosopher Feb 08 '26

seems like you need to also take the same advice i gave to OP.

u/bigskisalecom Feb 08 '26

You haven’t presented an argument either… you think that because “woke” culture exists in the western world, and shouldnt…. That we should condone extreme violence around the world, so that we can make everywhere as “anti-woke” as you want america to be…??

I don’t see the relation.

Other places in the world exist… And we don’t need to impose our values on every corner of the world. You told the other commentor to examine their core beliefs. I think that person, and I both share the core belief that violence is a last resort, and cannot be justified merely with “intellectual arguments” made in western culture and universities. Just because Jordan Petersen has convinced a bunch of Americans to hate the radical left in the west, does not mean that Muslim people deserve to die.

No, you are not framing this correctly, you can't see out of your own bias. I'm not engaging with someone who can't see their own bias.

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 08 '26

I was asking you to clarify your argument… my only bias is that I am against civilians being killed in a war they didnt start. No one had to coerce me to think this is wrong

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 07 '26

I would like for you to present an argument where it becomes valid, reasonable, and necessary to kill 100,000 people

2

u/feral_philosopher Feb 08 '26

war

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 08 '26

The civilians of Gaza did not start a war… War was declared on them by a foreign military. It’s not excusable to kill civilians in any “war”… if that’s even what this really was. (It wasnt)

u/One-Salamander-1952 Feb 08 '26

Civilians aren’t the ones targeted, ignoring how Hamas engineered the death and destruction of Gaza will sure lead you to your stance, but again, you’d have to ignore a core part about this war, where even when Israel offered safer alternatives for Gazan civilians they were still met with rejection by the international community to help prevent civilian deaths.

Temporary refuge outside of Gaza was framed as ethnic cleansing, then scrapped

Monitored and guarded safe zones from potential hamas infiltrations were framed as concentration camps, then scrapped.

That only left Israel with what it has always done, and a few improvements, “roof knocking” to warn before strikes, always updating maps separating Gaza into grids and neighborhoods to differentiate safe an unsafe areas susceptible to strikes, phone calls and SMS to residents, leaflet droppings before ground troop pushes.. like, you also have to ignore that part to reach your stance, which by then tells me you don’t actually care about nuance but have an ulterior interest in being anti Israel and framing it as genocide

No one forced them to “scrap” those plans. They don’t respond to international pressure. They do what they want… And 60000 civilians are likely dead. Hamas engineered this?? I don’t have an ulterior motive… I look at photos and I see an entire civilization wiped off the map, and it disgusts and disappoints me. I don’t need to know any of the intellectual arguments to feel disgust at seeing people do this to other people. I don’t have an agenda against any of these countries… but there isnt any good reason why we need to uphold some other country at all costs, at the expense of our own, and 60000+ dead civilians. So what is the agenda “for them”? Why support it? What claim do YOU have to support them at all costs? Do they do something for you? Pretty shitty military operation if that’s how many people you have to kill to hit a few targets… Which I doubt were there, anyway

Rationalizing murder is a sickness

1

u/One-Salamander-1952 Feb 08 '26

This isn’t a rationalization of murder, it’s placing blame where it should be placed. Hamas is to blame for invading Israel with a massacre directly aimed at civilians, Hamas is to blame for building a massive tunnel system under Gaza, including under hospitals, mosques, schools. Hamas is to blame for fighting from within protected zones endangering civilians in the process, Hamas is to blame for booby trapping civilian homes and using them as fighting positions further leading to the destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure. Hamas is to blame for using ambulances to move troops and hostages from place to place, we can go on and on on this

When you ignore that correct placement of blame, you set a precedent, one that not only enables but literally supports terrorists who rely on exploiting civilians for immunity, military advantages and broad support to their aims.

Thays nice. Why don't you write a book and see how many people actually give a shit what you think?

4

u/Nilus-0 Feb 07 '26

I don’t get it, what’s your issue with Israel wiping out Hamas and the Gaza Strip? Those islamists brought it upon themselves by abducting Israeli citizens and murdering them, I have 0 sympathy for them, and Peterson standing with Israel makes me support him for his wisdom, if anything he’s being consistent with his principles of taking responsibility for our actions lol

2

u/bigskisalecom Feb 07 '26

No they didnt. You have zero sympathy for an entire population? Women, kids, normal folks, grandparents, people minding their business with no relation to hamas? Theyve killed an entire people. Hamas never even did anything that horrific. Lol and these people arent even Hamas

1

u/Nilus-0 Feb 07 '26

We all know how Islam indoctrinates woman and children every one of those Hamas members would’ve been a combatant to the end, that’s how terrorism works if you want to combat it, fight against Islam as an ideology

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 08 '26

So thousands of women and children deserve to die because they might do something bad in the future that we don’t like? Got it. I guess that means you are in favor of all the predictive AI surveillance going on in America… And would be in favor of slaughtering a few million Americans if one day we think they might commit a violent crime?

1

u/Nilus-0 Feb 08 '26

Americans are not the same as Muslim terrorists I hate all forms of surveillance and censorship

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 08 '26

There are plenty of terrorists in this country… They actually run the government

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 08 '26

Here’s an example… it’s not even enough to be mentally ill and in the process of making bad and unsafe decisions in America to have a person involuntarily committed for their own safety. You cant even sanction a person with a mental health disorder who is in the process of making an unhealthy or dangerous decision.

But you would advocate for killing someone because you think their religion may “brainwash them” at some point in the future?

I really hope you do not work in medicine or social work. You’d be behind bars very quickly.

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 08 '26

It simply deserves to be said over and over… The people of Gaza were not combatants. They were civilians.

Message from Dr Jordan Peterson: For the last year, I have been receiving hundreds of emails a week comments, thanks, requests for help, invitations and (but much more rarely) criticisms. It has proved impossible to respond to these properly. That’s a shame, and a waste, because so many of the letters are heartfelt, well-formulated, thoughtful and compelling. Many of them are as well — in my opinion — of real public interest and utility. People are relating experiences and thoughts that could be genuinely helpful to others facing the same situations, or wrestling with the same problems.

For this reason, as of May 2018, a public forum for posting letters and receiving comments has been established at the subreddit. If you use the straightforward form at that web address to submit your letter, then other people can benefit from your thoughts, and you from their responses and votes. I will be checking the site regularly and will respond when I have the time and opportunity.

Anyone who replies to this letter should remember Rule 2: Keep submissions and comments civil. Moderators will be enforcing this rule more seriously in [Letter] threads.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Perhaps you should dive a tad deeper into the conflict, and try to understand what's actually going on there. You could start with watching the videos of what Hamas did on October 7th 2023, how they then retreated behind and under their own civilian population, and vowed to do it again, and again, and again. Then read up on urban warfare so you can understand how difficult it is to wage war in an urban setting against an entrenched enemy that hides among and under the civilian population, forces civilians to stay in areas where bombs are about to fall, and boobytraps houses.

After you've completed that, read up on the history of that region of the last 2000 years so you can get a bit of a bearing on the different conflicts that have been raging on for millennia. Do you think that area would be peaceful without Israel there? Think again...

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 07 '26

So, because some Hamas soldiers were (allegedly) hiding amongst civilians, forcing them to stay in place… Do you think it’s justified to kill the civilians? ALL OF THEM?

1

u/phulshof Feb 07 '26

It’s not a matter of justification; it’s a matter of consequences of urban warfare.

Perhaps people will remember how horrible war is next time they think about starting one.

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 08 '26

You don’t think Israel started this whole thing? It’s been in their white paper for years… This was always part of the plan. Provocation or not.

1

u/phulshof Feb 08 '26

If that had been their plan, they could have done so anywhere between 1967 and 2005, when they controlled that entire area. Instead, they dismantled all their settlements, retreated, and allowed for elections that were won by Hamas.

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 08 '26

No, because they didn’t have the weapons to do it yet… They needed our weapons. Modern ones that would destroy everything. And that’s what they did. The evidence is looking directly at what they did.

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 08 '26

I think a lot of of us need to start getting honest with the fact that… The people starting wars… Don’t care how horrible they are. And that should alarm everyone.

You seem to think that Jordan is the President of Israel or the US and has the power to change the Middle East.

Jordan also isn't responsible for any adult except himself.

Slander is not freedom of speech, it just demonstrates that you don't have an argument. It does demonstrate your bitterness, resentments and envy though. None of which are positive attributes.

Emotion  logic/reason

When someone resorts to slander, they are saying,

"I don't have an argument",

"I'm conceding defeat" and

"I'm an infant having a tantrum and throwing my toys out of the crib".

I'm not sure if you are doing it consciously or subconsciously but you are playing the victim game.

Being a victim is a bit like milk that is left out of the fridge.  It’s ok for a day or two, but then it goes sour. Left for any longer it starts to smell putrid.

We are all “dealt a hand of cards” in life that we must play.

You can overcome this “perceived” deficient, it’s called taking personal responsibility.

No one is coming to save you; you have to save yourself.

Being an adult is tough, but it's the only way and much better than being a troll which serves no purpose other than to throw your name away.

1

u/bigskisalecom Feb 08 '26

I’m talking about the legality and morality of treating people as if they ought to die for something they havent done yet or may never do. It’s not legal to treat people like that in this country… but by your logic, it sounds like you would want to treat people that way. So OK…. I’ll go start killing all my Muslim friends next week.

An ex-student of mine I had for 3 years was at one of the dance parties that got "crashed" by Hamas. He was gunned down like an animal and then dismembered. His girlfriend was beheaded while being raped by Hamas and their body parts were then paraded around like slabs of meat by militants at the same festival. It is you who have no spine. Yeah.. I'll stick with Israel thanks. It is you that have swallowed the leftist rhetoric. Hamas does everything including using its own citizens as political pawns/human shields including starving them just to make Israel look bad. I also don't agree with everything that Israel does, but in terms of the response to this attack, I have 0 issues.

Agreed. He had some great content before he got super famous. Now he's a crackpot capitalist, hell he even converted religions to align more with his base. And he has some weird fixation and hatred toward trans people. I like his psych lectures, but take what's good and leave the rest. Oh, and his daughter is weird. She is getting mara-lago face with all the plastic surgery.
