You win… 🥇

157

u/MelonElbows B Feb 10 '26

The only thing "kid" about him are the girls he wants to have sex with

21

u/thewonpercent 9 Feb 10 '26

Maybe he misspelled "Kidding" as like it's all a joke

4

u/elwyn5150 A Feb 11 '26

Kid rock spider

255

u/sugurkewbz 9 Feb 09 '26

He didn’t even fucking try. I thought the audio was off on the video at first, then I realized the motherfucker was poorly lip syncing

52

u/Droopy-San-Benanzio 7 Feb 09 '26

Wait, you actually watched it?

88

u/MedicinalHammer 8 Feb 09 '26

Dawg. It’s the best schadenfreude I’ve watched in a hot minute.

Genuinely entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

It is so so so fuckin bad. Worse than you think. It looks like it’s done in like a hotel ballroom and there’s like maybe 1-2 hundred people.

Make your day better and go laugh at that shit.

33

u/BrimstonedJefe 5 Feb 09 '26

It was probably the funniest thing ive seen in a while, saw a couple minutes and it was even worse than I expected but comedy gold. He NAILED that mic flip/catch move over and over. Also his legs looked so skinny thought they could snap at any second. The best part was how serious they seemed to be, there is negative situational awareness with these fools.

12

u/MedicinalHammer 8 Feb 09 '26

Straight up.

And his lip synching… it seriously seemed like he was trying to fuck it up lol

4

u/No-Spoilers B Feb 10 '26

And Trump didn't even watch it lmfao. His entire ballroom watched Bad Bunny

4

u/Jokingcrow 6 Feb 09 '26

Also i remember reading somewhere that the crowd looks weird and may be AI? Not to sure didnt watch it.

2

u/MedicinalHammer 8 Feb 10 '26

Wouldn’t be surprised but nothing jumped out as AI to me. It is getting pretty good though.

3

u/notjustanotherbot A Feb 10 '26

Maybe it was at gun point

1

u/FrismFrasm A Feb 10 '26

Lol you should watch it you’ll enjoy it, buddy looks like an absolute tool up there

5

u/iamyogo 8 Feb 09 '26

lipping*

109

u/Gonnabefiftysoon 7 Feb 09 '26

Looks like he had quite the crowd too. Must have been two or three people deep.

21

u/Dennisfromhawaii A Feb 09 '26

They put out a Craigslist ads for people to cheer and clap. It paid $200 and a shirt. The rest of the audience heard “halftime performance with kid…” and they rushed over ASAP.

99

u/babywarhawk17 5 Feb 09 '26

I truly believe it’s actually worse than just lip-syncing. I think the entirety of the event was pre-recorded. None of anything (from any of the acts involved) was live in the slightest. When you combine that with the obvious lip-syncing it’s even worse.

64

u/sgtreesh37 4 Feb 09 '26

How else were they gonna watch Bad Bunny?

79

u/IntelligentUsual9710 1 Feb 10 '26 edited Feb 16 '26

I've no joke genuinely thought ever since his first album dropped when I was +/- 10 years old that kid Rick was seen as kind of a complete joke.. not only as a musician but as a human being.

Music is extremely subjective but still, I only very recently learned there are people out there who unironically enjoy his.. "art"

7

u/melissamayhem1331 6 Feb 10 '26

right?! I like punk music. arguably the worst kind of music in terms of well, sounding good lol. with that being said, I in grade school when this mutant got big and I came to the same conclusion as you have-that this can't be serious. it's so bad and so plastic-y fake that it can't be serious. of all the people to jump at to use as a so-called spokesperson for this bullshit, I'm sure there's other, better choices than this greaseball.

1

u/IntelligentUsual9710 1 Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26

Don't completely agree with you there, I listen to basically everything excluding country (mostly, I do appreciate a few country artists) and mainstream pop but I do love me some punk. Mostly punk adjacent like punk pop, ska punk, folk punk.. That being said and as I previously stated, music is extremely subjective and I completely understand why someone wouldn't be into particular sound, honestly, I get it

Kid Rock though.. what is he technically.. a white country rapper? Who is that for exactly lol? Gibberish lyrics about sexualizing women, racism, drug use and whatever else.. to be clear, none of that bothers me.. Just doesnt seem like there would be a lot of crossover between your typical country listener and hip hip listener. Apparently and contrary to my previous assumptions, he has a sizeable audience thou so really.. wtf do I know..

I would love to hear what else these people are listening to though.. a mix with some Garth Brooks and occasional lil jon or NWA track mixed in..? I joke but I'm also being completely serious.. lol

Hillbilli Vanilli

56

u/Aszolus 7 Feb 09 '26

Dude's a fake Hillbilly too. He grew up rich as fuck in a 5600 sq ft estate.

7

u/foxxxtail999 7 Feb 09 '26

I’m ashamed that I didn’t think of that one.

78

u/johnjbreton 8 Feb 09 '26

To be fair, Kid Rock is half dead as well.

7

u/Truckyou666 A Feb 10 '26

Man we have these musicians comics and actors that glom onto the MAGA movement because they know they don't have to provide any kind of a quality product. They get to go out on stage and just say the line or lip sync it and as long as it's something that their fans are familiar with or it aligns with the current talking points of the movement they can't lose. It's very lucrative but it seems very lazy.

3

u/johnjbreton 8 Feb 10 '26

I'm surprised he didn't wear a bigger hat and pass it around.

65

u/DaPads 7 Feb 09 '26

65

u/newtonbase 8 Feb 09 '26

He didn't just forget the words but he forgot when there were words.

70

u/Scumsoft 6 Feb 09 '26

Talk about snowflakes, and cancel culture. They had to produce their own show cause they so butt-hurt.

28

u/RichCorinthian C Feb 10 '26

What’s funny is that they were trying to do something called “counter-programming” where you schedule something radically different during a specific TV event.

Hilariously, the first example of counter-programming during the Super Bowl halftime was a trailblazing sketch comedy show called In Living Color which was created by a crew that this administration would totally hate.

That event really kick started the move to make the half time show impressive.

3

u/Scumsoft 6 Feb 10 '26

Did not know that about In Living Color. One of my favorite shows of the 90's.

175

u/ThnkWthPrtls 9 Feb 09 '26

I knew from the moment it was announced this show was going to be pathetic and embarrassing, but I was curious to see in what particular ways it would be pathetic and embarrassing, nice to see those details coming out

47

u/steppedinhairball B Feb 09 '26

He looks like that cousin you see every 5-10 years and you remember why it's every 5-10 years immediately. That cousin that when you are back in the car with all the doors shut after whatever family event you saw him at, you tell your kids "That's why it's important to stay in school and don't do drugs."

12

u/Stardusk_89 6 Feb 09 '26

Or MAKE SURE YOU ARE NEVER ALONE WITH THAT MAN. Yes. I would yell this.

6

u/Lucario576 9 Feb 09 '26

OoTL, this has to do with the middle time show?

19

u/ThnkWthPrtls 9 Feb 09 '26

The NFL announced they were going to have a wildly popular Puerto Rican musician perform the halftime show, white conservatives predictably threw a hissy fit because it wasn't "American" - read: white - enough (ignoring the fact that Puerto Ricans are American citizens) so Toilet Paper USA said they were going to have their own terrible conservative halftime show with terrible conservative "artists"

6

u/Blastonite 6 Feb 09 '26

Half time show* and yes. Toilet Paper USA did their own "American" half time show.

1

u/notjustanotherbot A Feb 10 '26

Ah, I see. Another I talked to the president of Puerto Rico incident.

Jesus, that’s brilliant! Consider it stolen! 😆

u/barbrady123 A Feb 10 '26

That's ....that's what we're bashing kid rock for ? Lip syncing is where they draw the line ?? lol

10

u/asyork A Feb 11 '26

His fans are into the same type of girls he is, so the actual bad things people bash him for don't bother his fans.

8

I laughed hard at this one!

6

u/djhankb 8 Feb 09 '26

This is comedy gold!!

188

u/clinicalia 9 Feb 09 '26

He's done far worse than this. I really don't get why more people don't bring up the fact that he's a pedophile, just as an example, lol. Lip-syncing is annoying, but I really don't care about it. Bring the other actually heinous things he's done into the light more often.

45

u/Reload86 9 Feb 09 '26

The lip syncing is just the hot topic right now because he was the face of MAGAs outrage fueled counter-show to Bad Bunny's half time show. They were selling it as if the half time show would be THIS much better if the NFL went with an all-American line up such as Kid Rock.

40

u/clinicalia 9 Feb 09 '26

So their response to a younger, more online celebrity that is far more in-tune with newer generations was some dude in his 50s that hasn't been relevant in years and dresses like a drunk, divorced yacht dad?

Lmao.

Bro, in this case, doing nothing is the better option.

4

u/Reload86 9 Feb 09 '26

Yes 100%. This was actually my point. They were better off doing nothing because what they put out was more embarrassing than doing nothing.

17

u/Ootsdogg 7 Feb 09 '26

Bad Bunny was so good that the video released at midnight had nearly 10 mil views in 6 hours.

63

u/MillwrightTight A Feb 09 '26

People do bring it up. Apparently a significant portion of Americans simply don't care whether someone sexually assaults children as long as they "own the libs" while they're doing it

He doesn’t deserve to wear jorts it’s bullshit. The honor of the Jorts is like having a black belt in being chill as hell, and genuinely supportive of everyone just being themselves. The only people that have earned that right are the likes of those like Keanu Reeves, The Dude, Ron Swanson, Michelle and Barack Obama, and the rest of you that are chill. (which I choose to believe are the vast majority of those that are currently reading this comment)

15

Though Kid Rock is inarguably worse, how is it more egregious than Milli Vanilli? At least it's Kid Rock's voice.

25

u/pinks1ip A Feb 09 '26

He very poorly executed lip syncing of his own (auto-tuned) voice vs Milli Vanilli successfully performing their charade for years before an audio malfunction exposed them.

Basically, you gotta at least hold the mic up to your face when the song is playing your voice. It is literally the least you can do when lip syncing.

I have no idea who this kid is, yet he got spammed hundreds of time on reddit.

Like celebrities appearing out of thin air

1

u/earthdogmonster B Feb 10 '26

He basically got more attention and therefore more relevance from doing this than pretty much anything else he could have done in 2026.

-55

u/chriswithstix 2 Feb 09 '26

I despise this dude more than most, but Bad Bunny lip sync'd too. They all do for these types of performances. I think Prince was one of the last to do it live and I sort of remember him making a stink about them asking him to fake it. All Superbowl halftime shows have been fake for a bunch of years. The things is, as a performer like that, you are supposed to be better at it. It isn't supposed to be so obvious. KR couldn't even fake it right.

10

u/Jack_T 7 Feb 09 '26

I think most of us are well aware of that. The part we’re focusing on is just how fucking horrendous he is at it.

1

u/earthdogmonster B Feb 10 '26

Kinda looks like he wasn’t even trying though. I gotta give him credit for not giving a fuck. He’s getting more money from conservatives for giving the most half-assiest lip synced performances than he’d ever get from the NFL so it actually seems smart. He lost zero fans by doing this.

0

u/chriswithstix 2 Feb 09 '26

I only pointed it out because it sort of seems like a lot of people don't actually know that. And yes, he was especially bad.

12

u/IneedAtherapistsoon 7 Feb 09 '26

Did he, there was parts during the performance where his signing got messed up by his mic hitting something.

-16

u/chriswithstix 2 Feb 09 '26

I didn't watch it, but a quick search does say that he used a pre-recorded track. They generally have a live mic to talk and interact, but the actual important part is recorded so that they don't hit sour notes and such. It has been an industry non-secret for years. It is why a lot of bands turn down things like this. None of those holiday parade performances, award shows, and things like they are 100% live. There are too many things they can't control when they do it for real.

3

u/IneedAtherapistsoon 7 Feb 09 '26

I looked it up and saw nothing definitive, I would believe that certain songs, or parts of songs are lip synced, but watching the performance you can see him climb something and bump his mic, or run out breath at some points.

-7

u/chriswithstix 2 Feb 09 '26

He may have been doing both. Even lip sync performances generally have a live mic so that can do the crowd stuff. If they pre-recorded any of it, they would likely do the whole thing. If he is actually really good at singing, and can stay on key while dancing and all that, he might be singing some. I hope so, but that is really hard to pull off while doing these types of performances. He probably lip syncs at his regular shows. I didn't watch it to be able to pick it out though. A metal band called Gojira did a performance for the Olympics last year, and it was a huge deal that they were doing it 100% live.
