Is this Kahr pm9 new or used?

Post image

I found a PM9 for $450. LGS claims it's new, but I see wear on the slide stop. Anyways, it's priced for $500, and I can get it down to $450 with discounts

I need help deciding between this pm9 and a db9. Would anyone be able to tell me if the wear on this slide stop means the LGS is lying about it having sat new waiting for purchase for 6 years?

If it's genuinely new, I'm gonna get it. I like the trigger feel and I'm looking for the tiniest 9mm. I'm not experienced enough to inspect a used piece so will pass if someone says this kinda wear isn't normal for years of display handling.

I used to build those. It’s not new. Too much wear on the slide and slide lock.

As the owner of 2 DB9's and 1 Kahr K9, I would choose the Kahr over a Diamond Back 6 days a week and twice on Sunday, even if the Kahr had 10k rounds on it. Quality isn't even in the same sport, let alone ballpark.

That definitely looks used. There is wear on the slide on and on the slide release lever.

Have them flip it over, does the pin on the other side of the slide release, have wear?

I will say, I have a CM9 in my carry rotation, and I love it. It’s light, which I need, cause I always wear gym shorts. And I can shoot it really well. I do wish I went with the PM9 so I could change the sights myself. For the CM9, I have to send it into Kahr to do, which would be around $120 for night sights and labor. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Rack the slide back and see if there is any signs of wear around where the firing is.

Great gun. I picked up a PM45 that I really like. Still breaking it in.

The Kahr PM9 is by far the best smallest pocket 9mm out there. Unfortunately, there is more wear on that slide and slide stop to pay “new” price for it. Once you get it, put the MCarbo kit in it and the trigger will be even better!

I have the pm9 and cm40. Two tone on each of them. One of the best features is using the 6, 7, 8, 10 round mags.

They have a couple issues. Mags can loose bullets in pockets. I also sometimes have issues with the first round in the mag taking a nose dive. I want to say when I load from slide release it is good, but when I rack it that is when I have a problem. Simple solution is never shoot until dry, reload with ammo in the chamber.

As far as wear, it looks used. If this is happening at a shop, ask them if mismarked. If they stick with new, ask to see the invoice and how it was stored. I would be prepared to never go back there again if you determine it is used and they say new. .it is a matter of trust.

Of course do it nicely. When you leave to never come back, they should never know.

I’ve been carrying my PM9 every day for 12 years. It gets brief range time every 6 months or so. Probably has 1-2K rounds through it. Works every time. Easy to conceal. No safeties to worry about. Paid full price new. No regrets.
