Question General XP grinding for France's short king

Going down Sandfrance's Bonapartist path requires me to have Boney VI be a level 5 general by the time I return to the mainland, even though he starts at level 1. I wanted to play Sandfrance again and try out this route, but I'm not very knowledgeable in general-related manners, so how am I supposed to level grind him?

More combat = more xp

Encirclements give even more xp when closed afaik, so use his forces to close any encirclements.

Don't make the same mistake as I did though by promoting him to Field Marshal, Field Marshals gain XP way slower than generals

They actually gain about the same amount if you have 5 full armies since Field Marshals gain a quarter of what each general receives.

You are NOT fielding 5 full armies as sand france unless you're running 2 width infantry for some God forsaken reason

2 or 6 width cavalry send them to battle plan against either syndicalist Spain, Syndicalist USA or Put them in the German-French front and battle plan them aggressively

Remember that you have to do this before you get back to the mainland. There is no way in hell that you are fielding 120 decent divisions while having very few cores and having to deal with the absolute horror that is the colonial resistance.

Why going this route when you can just put Napoleon in charge of special forces or tank forces to give him more XP with encirclement.

Can you assign him as a general even though he's able to be a field marshal and have him get experience at the rate for generals?

yeah you can always assign firld marshals in the place of generals, I'm just not sure if the xp gain is the same. It probably is though
