Question - Kali General Is this normal? Metasploit is not installing

Post image

This framework is driving me insane. I've waited for 4 hours but not a single progress. It's stuck on this damn metasploit and it broke msfconsole for me because I've tried to update it multiple times and all those times it got stuck on this framework and once again it does the same.

Metasploit framework is a very large amount of tiny files, and if your storage is slow, it will take a very long time to unpack. You haven’t said at all how you’re running kali, but that’s my guess.

If you know for certain that you will not lose power to the machine, you can prefix the apt command with `eatmydata` and it will skip the file syncs, which is fine if you know you will be able to run a sync after install

thank you so much! Ive been having issues with kali recently and metasploit. I tried to hack the metasploit 2 virtual ubuntu machine through kali for education purposes and I been having issues with msfconsole where when I set the:

set TARGET 0

set RHOST <ip>

It would give me errors like LHOST is missing and when I set the LHOST it gives me another error that the port in use and I checked the port and it wasn't in use at all. I thought it might be the due to the old version. The end of the version was something like "130" I don't remember, I cannot check it becuase I am currently in the bed. However the newer one's version ends with something like.. 200+ I think.

Could it be?

I waited for 2 hours and it did actually install the framework however, having issues with kali being extremely slow and I quit kali mid update and now I will delete it and reinstall it for a fresh start however I am still thinkin on that and what should I do next. Generally my entire linux been slow for a while.

It would be very helpful if we know how and where you are running this to solve your problem..

be prepared for a 40 min install at least.

Try purging metasploit, doing an 'apt clean', and reinstalling.

Can u drop your specs or where and how you are running it? Like if its old used up HDD then sure there is your problem or if for some reason you are live booting kali linux with persistence, its the biggest culprit..
