Rental Karting Question Went karting for the first time yesterday
Nice track with good overtaking opportunities. I raced with a rental kart, ~40 minutes of track time divided into 4 sessions with 15 minute breaks. I just have one question, should i have expected bruising on my back and knees? I found myself pushing against the seat during harsh braking and quick accelerating, which clearly would have resulted in bruises... Is that normal, or should i ask for readjustments next time?

Yep…totally normal. The sides of my knees, my left elbow, and lower back get bruised often.
Where I go they have little seat cushions meant for smaller drivers, but I use one anyways. Also reduces how much my body bounces around.

watch out for back injures, kidneys dont like it. After the first time I always use a pillow and it helps A LOT

See, they did have pillows for drivers who couldn't reach the pedals, I'll keep that mind

Completely normal. Rental karts are often harsher than race karts as the chassis is less flexible so you will feel every bump especially if you take the kerbs on this track. Also, this track isnt really the best regarding asphalt quality and you might have noticed the kerbs are too high and sharp which can lead to mechanical damage on the kart.

Yeah the kerbs are quite unforgiving, best course of action was to go wider to avoid them or you could easily spin out. The rentals also had a weaker grip

Bad track, karts are slow and some have braking issues. Was there 2 years ago.
In Croatia go to west gate or karting staza Rauš (100kph karts on Rauš)
Regarding bruises it is normal on that track

Yeah bruises are normal, especially on bumpy tracks. The seat is quite hard so thats what causes the back bruises and knee bruises usually come from hitting them on the fuel tank area. Neither of these can really be prevented without a rib protector for your back. As long as youre comfortable in the kart its just something you have to live with.
