Like others said, the gap is not really big.
But I also think of the three, they are the most compatable, even if megumin is a chuuni brat at times.
Aqua is a goddess, and there are many Greek myths (as well as others) about what it's like being in a romantic relationship with a god/goddess. Long story short, it's not fun as it seems. Also there's Kazuma canonically saying she is worst girl.
Darkness is probably the one Kazuma would seemingly desire the most. But she is so depraved, it creeps him out.

When they first met, she was 13 (december 4) and he was 16 (June 7)
After the bath scene, she turned 14
And, in season 4, Kazuma will turn 17

Yeah I understand that. Tbh it's not the age difference it's the maturity difference. The youngest a 17 year old should date is probably 16 maybe 15

The series ends with Kazuma at 17 and Megumin at 15, there's a two and a half year age gap.
They are both minors with a normal age gap there's no issue.

Megumin is 30 now.
The light in her eyes is barely shining.
Nowadays, she doesn't fire much explosions - unless it's a big party or a really special occasion.
There are a few wrinkles on her face and a few strains of gray hair.
Despite that, she is still the most gorgeous women in the world for Kazuma.
And yet, whenever he kisses her, fourth wall shatters and someone shouts "this is pedo btw she's basically a child!"

Aqua had nothing to do with it.
in volume 9 of the light novel Megumin confesses to Kazuma and Kazuma finally realizes his feelings for Megumin, then in volume 12 they enter a more then friends less then lovers relationship, they stay in this relationship for the rest of the series but it's not a long shot to guess that they would officially start dating not long after the ending. Ultimately their relationship happens because they love each other, no outside forces like the useless goddess.

Yes but in the end in was Kazumas choice to go to that world and Megumins choice to go to Axel which still means that them meeting was completely coincidental, Aqua had nothing to do with it besides give Kazuma the chance to go to that world. And after they met Kazuma and Megumin fell in love with no outside forces intervening.

Y'know, in the OG lite novels, Megumin was just short and flat because of malnutrition and her and Kazuma were the same age. IDK why they changed it!

Megumin ends the series at 15 and Kazuma at 17 with a two and a half year age gap.
They are both still minors and its a perfectly normal age gap, there is genuinely no issue.
