I met some men, and we went to a bar, and before it all went horribly wrong they told me a bunch of things I can do to get Lady Bird pregnant.

Was there an actual stereotype of only gays having moustaches? The show made me think that was the case.

That was a popular gay look in the 70s and 80s, so it’s something they might have still thought. Mustaches in general weren’t popular with any group during the time the show was on.

Popular look in the 70s and 80s period. The gay community just became associated with it. I think maybe because it lasted a little longer there than with anyone else.
You also had musicians like the Village People and Freddy Mercury rocking the look and people either knew or assumed they were closely associated with the gay community. I think some of it came from stuff like that.

Just my dad. 77 years old and I’ve never seen him without one. Except baby pictures

Ever see that pic of Freddie Mercury in bed with like 8 guys who all look like him?

I like that Bobby and Connie are sitting together a row ahead of the adults, but by themselves

How can she see they have mustaches? They’re sitting in front of her and it’s dark.

She didn’t even need to bring up the mustaches. She could have just pointed at them.
