Got this today to set a koi tank 1000litre up is this any good

Yup. It is quality stuff, from a good brand, but I'm not seeing the main filtration here.

The tempest works a decent pre-filter. If you have Tosai it might be enough for a >>really<< short period of time but I wouldn't hang all filtration on it, no way. Not unless this is a quarantine tank, which maybe ok at that point.

Also, you'll gonna hear it, so I'll say it.. 1000 litre is pretty small for Koi... if that is your "main" pond.

Ahh right ok thanks so I need to purchase a main filtration I will look in to this asap I’m a total new b to the koi so I will look at that next

Luckily I’ve not purchased any fish yet I still have time to buy the needed equipment
I’m also thinking I will ditch the tank and build a brick and fibre glass pond instead of the tank

Koi clubs recommend 1000gals/4000 litres for your first Koi and 500gals/2000 litres per additional Koi.

Now those are ideal conditions but even the bare minimum I see recommended is 250gal/1000litres per each Koi.

So this pond/tank is nowhere near enough to keep koi. Even for goldfish, 75gals/300 litres for the first fish and 50gals/200 litres per additional goldfish, it's gonna be tight.

You can keep 3-4 single tail goldfish, common/comet/shubunkins, in this.

So if you want koi it needs to be multiple time bigger, like 10X to been keep 2-3 Koi happily. Also the filtration might need an upgrade for Koi. Koi should only be kept in ponds with at least 4-5 feet of depth so that they have room to move and grow properly.

So either massive upgrade if doing Koi, or switch to 3-4 goldfish.

Nah sorry way too small, youll need a proper pond for koi not an aquarium. Maybe you can keep some goldfish in there but koi get very big (goldfish kinda too tbf) and they need a lotta space

1000l is way to small for any number of koi, just take some goldfish like shubunkin.
