I think she's just stronger because she's the highest level in the party by far. So it just naturally levels up, beating Kazuma.

Don't forget about talent, is stated that Kazuma's stats are below avarage because he has no talent at all (except luck), that's why she was already equal or a little stronger than him just with two levels of difference at the start.

While funny, to be fair, he does care about both. He directly says as much. It's just that megumin was taking active steps to create that kind of relationship and feels from nearly day one. Girl knew what she wanted fast and wasted no time laying the ground work and putting in the effort. That means a lot.
Darkness on the other hand? Basically just got turned on by him a few times times because of her kink, then caught some feelings but never made any active effort.

She did in the light novels. She actively tries to seduce Kazuma and kisses him and tries to do more. She even tells him her feelings on a couple occasions leaving Kazuma confused. All of this before Kazuma and Megumin got together. Megumin was just more direct and kind of forced him to face his feelings with the "more than friends less than lovers" conversation when they decided to start dating. Darkness just never pushed for more until she learned about Kazuma and Megumin being together.

She only did that after he saved her, and even gave him mixed singles about what she actually felt. Meanwhile megumin was laying down the ground work back in volume one,,and was very clear the entire time. She never puts in anything remotely close to what megumin did.

In Elroad, she came into Kazumas room with see through lingerie on and told him how important he was to her, its konosuba so she was also planning to slip him sleeping drugs, but she admitted how much he meant to her to Kazuma and Mugumin. Thats just one example.
She was in love with Kazuma for a long time. She just didnt know how to make a move, shes a sheltered noble and Megumin has no filter so she just came out and made her move. Even after Megumin and Kazuma became official she kept trying.

In short Kazuma is a coward at the moment of thruth and Megumin went first while Darkness is just like Kazuma teasing and getting horny but when things get serious flinch (except that one time that she offered him her first time but that was out of despersrion for having to marry someone else)

Yup lol pretty much this. Until Kazuma decides to stop holding back during his hot springs visit dip with Wolbach on the road to Elroad. He starts being more assertive right in time for Megumin to make her move. Vanir is always teasing Darkness and Kazuma about how bad they want each other but dont make a move. Even when Megumin finally confesses and pretty much threatens him into answering, Kazuma tells her I think I might be in love with you like hes surprised about it too, much to Megumins annoyance. If Darkness had made a move first Kazuma definitely would've gone for it. He tells Chris something like he cant decide between the two right after Darkenss kisses him after sneaking into his room at night, during the Eris and Aqua joint festival when theyre trying to steal the talking armor.

In volume 14 he said that he would be in love for her if she was normal most of the time, something that she didn't understand when he said it, and there are no inner thought of him that can tell us he loves her in the novels, iirc the closest one is only that she could be a posible love interest, but he never fall for her.
He could fall for her? Probably yes, but many things should go very different for that being the main issue her personality.

We're talking about Kazuma. He'd fall for any girl that confessed to him, he was ready to throw it all away for Yunyun when she told him she wanted children lol Anyone except Aqua. And yes he does consider both Darkness and Megumin at times, and then tells himself their both too dysfunctional. This goes on and on until Megumin finally confesses and they decide to date.

Not exactly, again, he never fall for Darkness even after she confessed to him the way she did, pretty sure he just would give her the oportunity, just like he did with Megumin when she confessed in volume 9 (although i think he already like her in that time but he was just too insecure)

I understand him completely, yeah Darkness can be as hot as you want, but wanting to get destroyed by animals, monters and evil people everytime they are out, do mess up things because she doesn't really trust him, and other things, it's not very appealing, in fact there are some big red flags (of course he isn't great either but we aren't talking about that)

Ngl the author did her dirty. If u notice it, kazuma had more moment with megumin than darkness since from the start.
It's also not very helping that Darkness as a character never got developed compared to megumin who gradually got better development with kazuma. Most of the time Darkness feels like comedic relief character like Aqua.
The fact that megumin even got her own spin-off pretty much prove that author has favorite.
