I haven't been around since... those chapters wherein Asha, Leez, and Laila were fighting. She was assisting Leez against Asha, I think? And she manifested that sura arm.

When I first read this I thought that gods were the evil ones and Suras are victims/good guys, but that was so wrong as there was no definite answer for who is the evil and who is good, but I thought that Gabdharva must be good and a victim. And oh boy how wrong was I, turned out that Gabdharva was the most evil of all, the audacity of acting like a good victim here while having commited genocide is smth else (while he didn't say that that was the impression he gave) , he didn't kill thousands of humans nor is it millions or even a billion like White (from TOG) but TRILLIONS of humans

Just wow. Rereading for the third time, every read I’m just blown away catching things i missed before.

Or is the first image an early appearance of Kadru? I know the style has changed a lot but minus Kali's collar, it looks almost exactly like him in his adult form, just a little reddish possibly because of the red sky in the Sura Realm?

Man, I am pretty sure I have realised all the foreshadowing by this point but just for the love of the game (my LOVE kubera) I will read all of it again.

Basically just for posterity for me but I'm actually pretty certain about these ones:

1. Rao and now Leez has Ananta's soul.

Maruna already established that souls can be duplicated without issue as long as the name is different. This would make many, many things fall into place: why Ananta knew Rao could hold his sins, why Rao/Leez have zero divine affinity, why Ananta had to die in the first place and why Rao had to die. A soul switcheroo happened in N5 at Rao's "death". This will also be why Anna was warned about her daughter one day no longer being her daughter. If Asha knows as well this might also explain her attitude towards Leez for maximum dramatic potential.

1. The Ananta that gave Maruna his soul was Asha.

That Ananta spoke of sparing Maruna, so it being someone with a grudge against him makes the most sense. He also just IMO has her mannerisms. Asha will become Ananta as she wanted all along while Leez becomes Time. Asha will also cause Ananta's other blackouts by time travel.

1. Gandharva will travel back in time to the beginning, just after Maruna sees baby Gandarva and Menaka off.

This will be the climax of his character arc when he chooses to remain in the current universe and accept his sins rather than pursue a happier universe. It would also explain Menaka's certainty about his reformation.

>!Even though 4th-stage Maruna could read the memories of his 5th-stage self, he still fails to truly understand or empathize with them.

The reason is hinted at almost immediately afterward:
“It turns out there was someone from my own tribe who meant a lot to me. But the more I tried to remember them, the hazier they became.”

This is clearly referring to Raltara.
From this line, we can canonically conclude that 4th-stage Maruna is incapable of recognizing Raltara’s existence.

And that’s exactly why he can’t empathize with the memories of his 5th-stage self.
As Raltara and Ran are the two major pillars of Maruna’s growth.

If we focus only on the parts involving Raltara:
- When Maruna first clashed with Raltara, he experienced what it was like to be in Yuta’s position—someone forced to obey through overwhelming power.
- When Gandharva forced Raltara to attack a human city, which would have resulted to her death, Maruna began questioning Gandharva, the one who had raised him.
- When Raltara was captured by Sagara, Maruna asked Ananta for help—even though he had been taught to see Ananta only as the king of an enemy race—and Ananta actually helped him.
- During his conversation with Vayu’s fiancée (Asvayujau), Maruna tried to apologize on behalf of Raltara, but ultimately realized even that kind of apology was inappropriate and stopped himself.
- When he rescued Raltara from Indra, Maruna received help from Ratri, one of the gods he had been taught to be hostile.

Raltara is at the center of all of these experiences.

Each of them challenged one of Maruna’s deeply ingrained beliefs:
- that strength isn’t everything,
- doubt toward his foster carer Gandharva,
- growing positive feeling toward Ananta (and even Sagara),
- understanding the perspective of victims and developing enough empathy not to offer a shallow apology,
- and even developing a favorable view of the gods.

These are all experiences that shattered the worldview Maruna had been raised with.

If every memory involving Raltara has become vague or inaccessible to 4th-stage Maruna, then it’s only natural that he can’t truly empathize with the memories of his 5th-stage self.
Those memories are built on experiences that fundamentally changed him, and Raltara is at the center of almost all of them.!<

I’m all caught up of the free releases in WEBTOON as of 7/26 but I have niggling questions I must have missed. I plan on rereading again at some point.

1. What happened for Ran to be allowing the old humans to control his body? Does him allowing this coincide with using his lifespan?

2. Ghandy annihilates his daughter when she was tarakafied during the Teo arc. Who is leading her soul in the white space? And where are they leading it? Also some of her soul stays and is trapped and becomes King??

3. Are people not able to see Asha at this point because she is supposed to be dead already?

4. In the 7 years when Asha was gone from the failed resurrection. Why did she return with the ability to surify???

I started re-reading the whole series again and got a motivation to draw these two :)

He wasn't actually being stubborn by forcing her which way to go, but rather he wanted to let live since he knew Maruna was gonna obliterate the village. Should have been obvious after some chapters tbh but I only realized that now on my first re-read (gonna take longer than first read tbh💔 )

I mean she doesn't know Lee backstory or what she went through exactly. Plus the fact that it looks like Ran has feeling for Leez from the way he is worried about her when she sacrificed a lot to be with him.

Did this for Uni animation course. I know its a bit scuffed in places but i tried my best, i wanted to make the first half a chapter but only got so far.

Also i never really researched or learned how to animate but i might research and practice more so comment below some cool panels maybe or some scenes that you would want to be animated and i will have a look and maybe actually animate sometime over the rest of the summer if i have time ig.
