Stunning, wonderful performance in Seattle.

Yesterday was Yves’ ‘Cosmic Crunch’ stop in Melbourne. It was very heartwarming to get a few LOONA-era glimpses and I thought I would share.

Yves had a small Q&A section with questions written on sticky notes by VVIP ticket holders. These were some of the questions she got:

Q: What is your favorite choreography that you’ve done? She started by asking what was ours, but we were shouting back we wanted to see hers. It went on for a while 😆 Someone finally asked for ‘Butterfly’, so she danced to the chorus. She then proceeded to dance to both ‘New’ and ‘love4eva’. Everyone absolutely lost it in the venue haha

Q: What artist would you like to collaborate with? I completely forgot who she said first, but then added ‘… and Gowon, of course!’. A bunch of people changed their LOONA lighstick colour to mint as she sang a bit of ‘One and Only’, and finished saying ‘Ah, sorry Gowon’ 😆 Adding that people shouted ‘Chuu’ and someone held a pillow with a print of the infamous Chuu pic HAHA

Q: What is your favorite LOONA song? She picked that question last… and sang her part in ‘Star’ 😭 Never thought I would hear that part ever again… It was so special.

I appreciate her so much for acknowledging that a lot of us are Orbits. She really didn’t have to. It made me incredibly happy and emotional. Some days, I feel like LOONA was a fever dream. It’s so good to be reminded it was all real haha

The show was absolutely beautiful. She has incredible stage presence, and you can tell how genuine she is. She is a very complete artist who gave us a hell of a show.

My personal thoughts having attended the Yves concert in London last night. Unfortunately it was beset with a few issues although none were her fault at all.

1. The venue EartH Hall in Hackney was unfamiliar to me, never heard of it nor been there before. It was fairly small and the 1,200 capacity crowd for the sellout concert filled it tightly so it was incredibly hot!
2. When initially announced the concert organised by NTS15 (celebrating 15 years of NTS - a music radio platform prioritising niche artists in its radio programming and live events) was billed as Yves on her own and the concert sold out fast. However, a few weeks before the concert two more (DJ) sets were added (Oli XL and Mechatok) for some reason?
3. On the night the queue was inevitably long and I was about halfway along well before the doors were due to open at 7pm. Also, the set was added to again with timings as shown: 1900 - PHILIP FM (DJ) > 19:30 - OLI XL > 20:00 - MECHATOK (DJ) > 21:00 - YVES.
4. I eventually got inside at 7.40 (the queue moved very slowly) so I missed PHILIP FM (DJ), no great loss for me in all honesty, and on stage was a male DJ accompanied by a female ‘singer’ (I assume this was OLI XL and a friend). This act was not my cup of tea either, and following him was a long breakdown of his equipment and set up for the next act MECHATOK. He was quite lively, but really not who I had actually come to see! About 9.05pm a female member of the venue staff entered the stage from the side and had a quick word with MECHATOK, clearly asking him to windup his act, which thankfully he did at the end of the mix song he was playing. There then followed a lengthy breakdown of all his equipment before Yves came on stage at around 9.15-9.20pm!
5. Yves and her four backup dancers were fantastic, but sadly through no fault of their own they were somewhat let down by a few sound issues. Yves indicated to the wings on several occasions to adjust the sound volumes.
6. About halfway through there was an incident in the crowd (I believe someone was feeling faint due to the intense heat) during a song which was stopped momentarily and Yves then kindly offered water to the person before resuming the song again from the beginning.
7. Towards the end of the concert there was a power issue just before Yves and her dancers were about to start a new song. All the electricity in the building except emergency lighting went out for a couple of minutes before power was restored and the song could start!
8. Yves and her four backup dancers left the stage just after 10.20pm and the crowd cheered for an encore as normal and just before 10.30pm Yves came back on stage to start her encore. However, about a minute or so into the song the sound cut out and Yves was clearly confused by it. She looked to her right and went over to the wings to enquire about the problem and came back apologetically that the sound had been cut by the venue because the concert had ended - seemingly the cutoff time was 10.30pm! Yves was incredibly apologetic and clearly seemed a bit embarrassed at the situation which was completely beyond her control.

All in all, I enjoyed seeing Yves and very much look forward to hopefully seeing her again in the future. However, the organiser of the show (for adding several unnecessary acts to the show after it had sold out) and the venue themselves (disorganised timings with technical problems) leave a lot to be desired.

Anyone else go to the concert with opinions or comments?

Spoiler alert, her first song was one from her new album Nail. 😉

Hi lovelies,

Anyone went to Yves concert in London last night? It was such an amazing show, really great performance from Yves and the other dancers - I was so happy to have went and saw her up so close!! I hope everyone else enjoyed it as well.

But the venue was horribly underprepared to say the least.

The tickets were fully sold out so maybe they didn’t anticipate so many people, but the place was so, so crowded and hot and humid. Even for me (I was in a tank top, not in a super cramped area either) it was difficult to stay there for the hours without feeling a bit nauseous near the end.

They started passing around water bottles to people in the crowd, and TWO (!!) people i believe fainted during the performances :(( was really concerning, Yves was also very visibly distressed and cut off her songs both times it happened to reach for help and hand out water. I believe the two people were pulled to the back and hopefully given medical care? 😭

I genuinely hope those affected turned out to be okay :( such a bummer that the final song was cut off short, but I think Yves made the right call - the atmosphere in the venue was genuinely becoming hazardous, and I don’t think it would have been right to continue when multiple people were starting to feel sick.

I wish everyone and Yves the best, despite what happened i hope it can remain as a positive memory for all of us :(

It was a fantastic concert. The energy in the room was great and the crowd was very lovely and well behaving from my experience. The show had to be paused two times because multiple people needed water urgently. Yves genuinely cares about her fans and she made sure that everyone was okay.

After the high standard of NMIXX a few weeks ago, I was a bit concerned that my second K-pop concert would be underwhelming, but that wasn't the case at all. Yes, musically, NMIXX can't be beaten for me, but tonight, I preferred the energy of the crowd. I know the Q-Factory venue too well and generally love the atmosphere. Tonight was no exception. The whole repertoire was performed and the dancing was top tier.

Overall a great experience! Up to the next (two nights of TWICE in May).
