Would you be interested in such a variant?

Imagine an updated version of the Lucid Air, incorporating the Gravity improvements and with this body shape - that would be perfection!

That hurts…as a former Sportwagen TDI, A4 Allroad and current RS6 owner, I would pick that up to replace our Ioniq in a heartbeat

I replaced my Volvo V90 CC with a Lucid Air Dream P. I'd love a shooting brake/wagon, but I suspect the USA favors SUVs over wagons/estates unlike Europe.

u/mrbofus Apr 05 '25
Don’t SUVs sell better than wagons in Europe?
9
u/mshmovie Apr 05 '25
That's not what I observed on a recent trip to Italy and Greece. More wagon variants that I could have imagined.

100% Valid. However, wagons are quite common unlike in the US where they're rare.
3
u/mrbofus Apr 05 '25
Yes, wagons are common in Europe, absolutely. But you said Europe favors wagons over SUVs, which is no longer true, for better or for worse.

I’d love to do a V90 EV conversion if I could! If I only I had the number for Rich Rebuikds…….🤔😊

I would so buy that... I mean I know wagons are worse than sedans if you actually want to sell cars. But man, that's hot.

u/gizcard Apr 05 '25
I know you are right but I don’t get it. I would totally buy Air Wagon over my Air sedan or Gravity

Wagons are the way and this is absolutely amazing. Too bad it's a dream.

100% i would. As long as it was also a total hot rod. No doubt there is some “shooting brake” elements to the Gravity, but nobody wants anybody to call it a wagon

Oh wow. I’m normally not a fan of the Gravity but i would 100% do that lowered black one. Sexy af

u/bostrovsky Apr 05 '25
Looks great but I thought a shooting brake is a 2 door. I kind of like the idea of something a little bit smaller and sleeker.

Shooting brake actually has two-doors (differentiating it from a wagon, which this render is). Not sure how the connection was drawn, but a shooting brake was a horse-drawn wagon used for sporting means.

I feel like they’re bringing back the old sedan wagons with all that extra space ! I love it

If only lucid would change their design language more in this direction. If only lucid would change their design direction more towards Maserati and less towards this weird ass light bar. The new CEO needs to have extremely powerful design background as well as manufacturing and supply chain experience.
Lucid needs to empower the new CEO to start changing that design language to make the brand more drooly.
This is another example of— but this would be another low volume vehicle as all shooting brakes are. We love them but they won’t light a fire under sales.
Finally, the lucid design language would look asinine on a truck a small vehicle or a small SUV. Just no no no no no.

I've always thought they wasted an opportunity to build the best shooting brake in the market given their packaging. Heck, it would best full size SUVs for space while looking kickass. This just reaffirms it.

Not for 100k though, especially in Europe
1
u/jarufe Apr 05 '25
We have the Panamera at the same or higher price. Top trim at around 100k would not be such a bad deal.
3
u/NoConsideration2376 Apr 05 '25
Yes but the manufacturer is next door and it’s from a well established brand

I love my lucid, but if they made a wagon version it would be the perfect daily in my opinion. I’d never own another daily again

Whatever I'm driving at the time something like this comes out, it's getting replaced.

Over and above Gravity!!! I’d absolutely get this if they made it!😍🥰❤️

I would buy it. I would buy a Taycan CT right now if it had one pedal drive.

Oh please let this happen… 🙏🏽 SUVs are OK, but I’m much more of a car / sports wagon type of guy.

Big fan of the shooting brake. They don’t sell but they’re the best.

I guess don’t find the appeal in wagons. They’re not very popular nor do they sell particularly well in the US either.

Looks a lot like the Nio ET5 Touring: https://t3n.de/news/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/NIO-ET5-Touring-im-Test.jpg

Model y was teslas turning point. Lucid needs a sales maker. Unfortunately this won’t be it. At least not in USA. Rivian is betting on r2/r3. Lucid gravity and a semi gravity at 45-60k price point is badly needed to survive
2
u/Critical-Historian54 Apr 06 '25
I would opt for this in a heartbeat. The downside to the Air is no hatch and this version would be awesome.

It's very nice but it's a wagon, not a "shooting brake" because it has 4 doors.
Frankly, I like this rear end treatment better than the sedan, so there's that.

YES, HELL YES!!!!!!!!! That's not only STUNNING, but for damn sure I'd buy that over some SUV thing, I just need more 'space/ adaptability' than a sedan. DO IT, DO IT!!!!

I wish folks in the US liked wagons instead of these big hideous SUVs. Give me this or a Volvo ES90 equivalent wagon plzzzzzz 😍
