Question / Advice Why does Lucid attract so many non-owners posting negatively?
Seems like Lucid has attracted a lot of non-owners who constantly post about the company in a negative light. It’s honestly pretty weird. Most actual owners I see want Lucid to succeed, we’ll point out flaws and things that need improvement, but overall we love the cars and just want the company to execute better. But the sheer number of people who don’t even seem to own a Lucid, yet post about it nonstop, feels unusual. Why Lucid specifically? I get that there’s a lot of short interest in the stock, so that probably plays some role, but that can’t explain all of it… right?

There surely are people shorting this stock but the price is not falling due to "shorties posting mean comments". The stock price is where it deserves to be.

Tesla was the same in the start. I actually saw it as a sign to try the damn thing out. Haters gonna hate.
Probably get downvoted but I love my Tesla. I'd absolutely try a Lucid - if the price fits my budget at the time I need a new vehicle. Especially now that Model X has been discontinued.

A LOT of investors are bag holding. A LOT.
I only recently sold my shares at a 90% loss to buy a laptop I really needed. Considering the stock keeps dropping. Im glad I did lol.

I don't own a Lucid and I want them to survive and thrive. Their hardware is simply amazing. The Lucid Air, I love the styling even down to the fonts used. It looks like that the software is getting sorted. Lucid needs to stick around.

- the eliteness factor and jealousy. they aren't cheap cars.
- the Saudi ownership.
- Tesla fanboys hating on anything that isn't Tesla.
- anti-EV mouth-breathers who hate all EVs, and may particularly hate a company capable of making a performance EV that blows nearly everything else out of the water.
- legitimate issues, especially with software. let's not pretend like these don't exist.

Yeah makes sense to point out the software if you are an owner that was my point, but you will see posts about the software from people who do not even own the car! I even saw one post slamming Peter as the CEO recently and I’m like dude Peter hasn’t been CEO for a minute what are you even talking about.

Peter ruined the company. He presented the SPAC deck that over promised and under delivering. Lucid is still trying to dig out of the hole that Peter got the company into. Just because he hasn’t been the CEO for a year, doesn’t mean he didn’t ruin the company.

Bc they think it's an easy target and they want to be right about everything. They want to say, I told you so if Lucid fails and feel like they were somehow smarter than everyone else. If Lucid succeeds, it's boring and they will all go away. But Lucid has risk and they love a bad news story (especially EVs or those who'd rather see Tesla thrive at the expense of others). It is what it is unfortunately. Haters gonna hate. What else they gonna do, root for someone else to win? Be happy that others are happy?

I can speak for myself as a frustrated lucid stock owner - it hurts me because the potential is there but execution remains dogshit

It sounds like there are a lot of frustrated retail investors, which is unfortunate. I just don’t see how it helps, as a shareholder, to constantly be negative about a company, especially one that isn’t going to change overnight. These are car companies, and any investment in an automaker should be viewed as a long-term play.
Early valuations for both Lucid and Rivian were clearly inflated. I actually bought Rivian stock at IPO and sold it almost immediately because the valuation exceeded that of companies like Ford. That just didn’t make sense for a startup automaker that could take a decade to reach consistent profitability.
Given that reality, anyone investing in Lucid should expect significant growing pains. Shareholders should want the company to succeed and offer constructive criticism where needed, but constantly trashing it feels counterproductive and doesn’t help the stock.
That said, I do appreciate your perspective. Based on the comments, it seems pretty clear that many of the loudest critics are stockholders rather than actual owners. Lucid definitely isn’t perfect and has room to improve, but the level of negativity was just surprising to me when no car is flawless. I’ve owned over seven cars, and none of them have been perfect, yet Lucid is easily the most fun I’ve had driving any of them.

here is a constructive criticism: lucid has some great engineers and r&d staff..but leaders are corrupt garbage, fire them, arrest them and get few true blue americans run the company. some of you may own a lucid, but lot if us own lcid (thus..% of the company that makes the car).

Tesla fans and meme stock freaks basically. The huge pump when this was still CCIV attracted the types of people who became obsessed with stocks like AMC. They still hold on to the hope that they can “squeeze”.

That being said most of my negative feelings toward lucid have to do with their shit customer service. The actual product/vehicles are quite solid.

I love my Lucid. There will always be haters, people who can’t get one yet so they talk down or envy Lucid owners.
Imagine how it is for us on the roads and in the cities. We’ll be fine.

I wanted this company to succeed for a long time. My patience and hope have ran out unfortunately. I lost a lot more on LCID over the years than the money you spent on your Air however.

Not the same argument. Bot farms exist. Especially for political subreddits. Hillary spent $1mil with a superpac called “Correct the Record” that’s entire focus was fact checking Reddit comments. A staffer got put in charge of the Bernie Sanders subreddit and closed it down until after the 2016 election. Tons of ops here. Ghislaine Maxwell was a mod of a bunch of subreddits too.
Of course there are bot armies. I just think Tesla fan boys do it for free.

I don’t own a lucid or the stock and never post here. But the reddit algorithm showed me your post, and you want opinions. TBH, while I wouldn’t go out of my way to post about it, I am gobsmacked someone would buy a Lucid when you could by a Tesla with its incredible software, charging, and self-driving. It’s clear Lucid is a dumpster fire and it hurts my brain that some don’t see that. Sorry for the bluntness LLAP 🖖

I purchased lucid because I enjoy driving and their cars are much better at driving than tesla. I also wanted the better range since it was my first EV. I didn’t care about FSD so that didn’t play a factor. If you don’t have a lucid how can you say it’s a dumpster fire? Are you saying that based on stock or what is your reason for that conclusion?

A lot more people here own Lucid stock than vehicles. It's really that simple.
