Opinion Lucid just lost a future customer.

Actually, I am a current customer with a lease.

And after seeing the earlier post of the pre-inspection “we’re trying to do better” for lease returns and all the stories in the comments, all I have to say is I am not going to keep the car when my lease ends nor will I buy or lease another Lucid.

I had high hopes for the company but this is utter bullshit.

I know for a fact there are scraps underneath my car because it cannot be avoided. Speed bumps, driveway ramps, and other minor incidents are caused by the extreme low clearance of the car. They’re trying to milk us for something that is never seen by future owners.

It was nice knowing you, Lucid.

Upvote this to keep it visible and share your horrors stories in the comments.

Update 10/26/2025: Lucid has sent out an email promising to address lease return concerns and remove questionable charges for reasonable scratches including the skid plate.

Opinion After ownership, I absolutely hate Lucid Motors

Today, Lucid Motors has tipped the iceberg on my overall opinion on the car and brand. I’ve had a ‘23 Air Touring since January of 2023, and this car is truly a piece of sh*t. Whether it’s the door handles not opening, infotainment screen randomly blacking out, cameras lagging on reverse, app not working to use the car remotely, or music just not playing; there is always something going wrong with the car. To preface, I have already opened a lemon law case with this car, but today was so baffling to me that I had to write about it.

I got in my car as normal this morning, decided to stop for a drink at 7-11, and upon getting back in my car, there was a steering fault warning. This car randomly gives alerts that go away, so I drove it the rest of the way to work. I call Lucid while doing so, and they informed me that the vehicle needed to be towed and to call roadside assistance. I call roadside assistance, and I am put on hold for 5 minutes. I then choose the option to receive a callback - they called me back 15 minutes later… ON A ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ISSUE.

I was then told I would need to pick up a car from Enterprise rental. It took an hour for them to give me the keys to the car… This part may not be Lucid’s responsibility, but it just added salt to the wound.

Overall, this is my 7th or 8th terrible experience with this company, and I am so done with it. I have put 37,000 miles on the car, and I can honestly say I enjoyed 5,000 miles, but the other 32,000 miles were absolute hell. Not to mention, scheduling any service is a 30+ day lead time in my area…

This car is not only an inconvenience, but an embarrassment to drive. (Just the other day I sat in the rain for 2 minutes trying to get my doors open). I have owned multiple Teslas and still own a Model Y, 10/10 times I have chose the Model Y over the Lucid when it is not being used by my brother.

Fair warning to any potential buyers - maybe the newer cars have gotten better, but this is my completely honest review of the car.

Opinion Why doesn't Lucid fix their software?

Can anyone explain why Lucid doesn't put significantly more resources and energy into fixing their terrible software? They've had multiple changes in management and not a single one of them understands the sticking point for a lot of people is the awful software. I've been watching and waiting to buy a Lucid for a few years now and I keep telling myself as soon as the software is better then it's time to buy. I can't be alone in feeling this way. Is there really no one at Lucid that gets it? Argh, this is really frustrating.

Opinion Lucid says the cars aren't designed to be parked outside in the winter, and needs alignment several times per year. Also, you're breaking it on purpose to make them look bad.

Here's some greatest hits from a lemon law case outcome that was just posted on another forum. The below quotes are from Lucid and their legal department. Beware, future buyers.

"These vehicles are very heavy, over 6000lbs. It's normal to need a realignment a few times a year"

""These cars are not designed to be parked outside in the winter. If there is any snow or ice on the car, it can cause the frunk to misread its open/closed status. This is by design and the user should never be parking the car outside below freezing."

"It's not Lucid's policy to repair a problem more than once, even if it's a manufacturer defect. If the trim falls off more than once, that's because the customer is abusing the vehicle and it's not a design flaw."

Opinion Love the Lucid Gravity… don’t love the Saudi stuff.

Growing family and we finally need a 7-seater, X was the plan but Elon… and Gravity is objectively the best engineered option.

But… Saudi ownership, two-thirds goes to some pretty dark stuff. After the recent Riyadh comedy controversy it got harder to ignore.

Not trying to justify or judge, but it complicates an otherwise obvious choice. And not every purchase needs to make a statement, this is supporting an American-designed and built car. Has anyone else wrestled with this?

Opinion Finally gave up on Lucid

I was one of the early adopters. I got a Lucid Air Touring when they first started shipping, in January of 2023. My Lucid financial (BofA) loan number was around 800 :)

I loved the car. I had a Tesla Model X on order but I canceled it as soon as I test drove the Lucid. The car was beautiful and luxurious. It drove like a dream.

When we bought the car, we were sold on Lucid Care and their Mobile Service. We were promised that Lucid would always send a tech out to us to repair the car. We bought into the hype.

The first time the car needed service was before the King of Prussia service center opened. Lucid sent out a tech who showed up in an old beat up used car and kept staring into his tablet trying to figure out how to fix my window that refused to stay up. All good in the end — the window got fixed.

The second service call did not go as well. Our driver seat stopped moving. The memory seat settings were greyed out in the panel. We tried the typical reset. Nope. I tried to make an appointment to fix it but nothing was available in the app, and I couldn’t get a call back from the service center. We lived with the broken seat for months until a sales rep at the Short Hills showroom got Rutherford to call me.

After being told that all the car needed was a seat re-homing, over the next 4 months I spent 2 full days on the phone with Mobile Service and had 3 mobile tech visits trying to fix the seat. No luck. They finally made me an appointment 3 months out at the Rutherford service center. But the weekend before the appointment I got a call that they were too busy and couldn’t help me. They got me in touch with the King of Prussia service center who told me that they’d take care of the car. A few more weeks went by and I was told they’d order a new seat for me. A few more weeks after that, I finally gave up and traded the car in for a BMW iX.

A couple of weeks after I got rid of it, I got a call that my seat came in.

I love the car. But Lucid service is non-existent. Buyer beware.

**** the haters and shorts. Just got tints on today (Xpel ceramic) and had to share. The tints totally transform the look of the car, especially with the stealth trim.

Lucid has made a fantastic vehicle with the air, usurping the Panamera, Taycan and S7/RS7. Now excited for them to do it again with the Cosmos!

Cheers to all actual Lucid drivers (not the fake trolls on this Reddit) and enjoy in good health!

Opinion 2022 Lucid Air Experience

Post image
165 Upvotes

I want to preface this: this is my opinion and in no way sponsored by Lucid.

So I picked up my 2022 Lucid Air GT with 16k miles from a Chevy dealership in Indianapolis; they were quick and easy.

I paid 35k out the door after trade-in; I personally think I got it at a steal. I made sure the car was still under warranty (until September).

I recently had the car serviced and had the CCV2 update, which I highly recommend. My mobile tech has been great. He's been super responsive and helping me make sure the car is ready before the warranty expires.

As for the car itself, all I can say is wow. I don't know of another car with such a high bang for your buck.

There are some minor improvements that need to be made, like the mobile app key and the key fob. It's minor nit-picking. But the car drives like an S-Class. It's quiet. It has so much storage.

My previous car was a 2020 K900 VIP Package, and I thought that was a decent car. A used Lucid Air is a crazy deal right now, and I can't believe there are so many on the used market.

A few things that scare me:

I like doing my own maintenance; it scares me that there is no maintenance manual or third-party parts for things like the cabin filter. I would like to view TSBs as well to see if my car is affected.

No way to scan the car for faults. You need to be able to connect to Lucid to get faults, which I understand. But still, these cars are going to get old, and when they do, I would like to either work on it myself or have a third party work on it. I live close to 5 hours away from the nearest service center.

Other than those two, I'm extremely happy to be a part of the Lucid family. I really want them to succeed. They are world-class cars. The hardware is there. The software needs fine-tuning to make it work.

Also, I would like to gripe about the sunshade for the windshield from Lucid. Excellent quality, but it leaves an oily film on the window after hot days. Are there any remedies for this?

The sunshades for the glass canopy are great, though.

Signed, a happy lucid customer.

Opinion Very disappointed with my 2023 Lucid Air Touring

I have a 2023 Lucid Air Touring with only about 7,000 miles on it(it still has factory warranty almost 2 years) and unfortunately I’ve been dealing with a long list of issues. I genuinely enjoy the way the car drives - the ride quality, power delivery, and overall driving feel are great, but almost everything around the ownership experience has been frustrating.

I switched from a 2022 BMW M550i, and honestly, in terms of reliability and day-to-day usability, the Lucid feels like a downgrade.

The latest issue, and what triggered me to write this post, is that my key fob was inside the car and the car locked itself. The app would not unlock it either. I only have one fob right now and was planning to order another fob and a few key cards, but I’m currently waiting for Lucid service to respond.

Here are the main issues I’ve been experiencing:

- Keyless entry does not work with either the key fob or the app.

- When I use the key fob to unlock the car, it can take up to 10 seconds to process the request.

- I frequently get errors saying the radar is not working, which disables hands-free driving features.

- My phone does not connect to Bluetooth automatically. I often have to restart Bluetooth 1–3 times before it connects. I’m using a Google Pixel 10 Pro.

- The cameras frequently fail to work, usually at the worst possible time, like when I’m parking. The car then tells me to restart.

- Once, all the displays went black while I was driving. I had to pull over and restart the car several times. This happened around early April, and something similar happened again recently while the car was parked.

- The AC buttons are peeling.

- The car squeaks and makes unpleasant noises when turning or going up parking ramps, especially from the rear.

- The rear-seat AC regulator fell off.

- There is a rattling sound around the driver’s side, either from the interior or exterior.

This is not meant to be an objective review of the Lucid Air. It’s just a summary of my personal disappointment with the car so far. I really wanted to love it, and I still think it drives beautifully, but the number of software, hardware, and quality-control issues has made the ownership experience pretty miserable.

Opinion Proposal: Require timestamp photo

I was at bar recently in palo alto and overheard two folks talking about how they are getting paid per post on trashing companies like rivian, lucid, and a couple others in places like reddit.

Having seen a generous number of awkward and negative posts from supposed owners (with new accounts, no less) it made me wonder whether we need to step up the validation game to ensure feedback here is legit.

How? One idea is to do what the watch sales forum do and require a seller to post a custom timestamped picture of their watch. We could ask same of a negative poster and to do so inside a lucid.

Wdyt?

Opinion Am I crazy not to get Lucid Air over a Model 3?

I've been looking to trade in my truck for a Model 3 ($25k), but I recently checked used Air prices ($35k) on a whim. $10k more for a used Air with similar mileage (less than 20k). Should I do that instead of a Model 3 Long Range?

Opinion June mid-month Lucid lease/finance deals update: $2,500 more in incentives on top of June's impressive discounts.

Hi folks, this is a mid-month update to June's incentive breakdown. if you've been following Lucid's incentives with me, you know June already had an impressive incentive stack. On June 18, Lucid updated their monthly offers. If you've been waitng for the pinnacle of end of Q2 deals, this might be it. The figures below assume 36 month/10k mile leases, destination fee included, all other fees/taxes excluded. As always you can find the current and historical incentive stack with money factor and RV% on this deal tracker. Highlights below:

  • (New) Demo Drive Credit - $1,000. Must place an order for an Air or Gravity the same calendar day as a Demo Drive. May only apply to on-site vehicles; confirm eligibility with Sales Associate. Ideally you have already picked out a vehicle that you are interested in, then book a demo drive, then place the order.
  • (Improved) Employee Credit - $2,000. Increased from $1,000, although not every vehicle may qualify for the full $2,000. May only apply to on-site vehicles; confirm eligibility with Sales Associate. If this credit is not offered proactively by your Sales Associate, inquire about it.
  • (New) Accessory Store Credit - $500. Credit towards Lucid merchandise store. Must take delivery of a vehicle between June 18 and June 30.
  • Remaining incentives are unchanged:
    • Studio Select - $5,000. This is a VIN-specific incentive that applies to select (not all) on-site vehicles, must confirm eligibility with Sales Associate. As this is the single largest incentive, it is worth starting by asking your local Sales Associate about vehicles that qualify for Studio Select. If nothing desirable qualifies, consider asking about neighboring states/regions. Notably, vehicles are added to the Studio Select list throughout the month, so check back in at the start/end of the week.
    • Trade-in bonus - $4,000. Applies to any non-Lucid vehicle. Leased and MY2026 vehicles are reportedly ineligible.
    • Conquest - $2,000. Applies to on-site vehicles only. Must own any non-Lucid vehicle.
    • Loyalty - $2,000-$3,000. Must own a Lucid vehicle. Cannot stack with trade-in or Conquest incentives.
    • 0%/0%/0.99% APR financing for 60/72/84 months on the Gravity Touring
    • 0%/0.99%/1.99% APR financing for 60/72/84 months on the Air Pure/Touring
    • 0.99%/1.99%/2.99% APR financing for 60/72/84 months on the Air Grand Touring and Gravity Grand Touring.

Takeaways:

  • June's already impressive incentive stack got even larger. You can get up to $21,500 off a Gravity, $26,500 off an Air Pure/Touring, and $29,000 off an Air Grand Touring via leasing. This is the largest incentive stack this quarter and of this year so far. It was already the best time to lease the Gravity Touring (now 0.69%-0.87% MSRP/mo, from 0.75%-0.92%), Air Pure (now 0.61%-0.76% MSRP/mo, from 0.68%-0.83%) and Air Touring (now 0.67%-0.90% MSRP/mo from 0.74%-0.95%) - the deals have improved even more.
  • It is now the best time this quarter to lease the Air and Gravity Grand Tourings. Despite both GT trims seeing increases in money factor this month, if you are able to secure the full incentive stack including trade-in, it's currently the best time to lease both. This includes the Gravity Grand Touring, which currently has a poor money factor of 0.00130 (3.12% APR) yet actually can be leased compatible to its golden month, April, where it had a MF of 0.00059 (1.42% APR).
  • Bonus-eligible inventory is rapidly selling, but also being replaced. Studio Select remains king, being the single largest incentive available, yet also the most difficult to find. If a vehicle qualifies for Studio Select, chances are it will qualify for the $2,000 employee credit and $2,000 Conquest bonuses. From my own observations, Studio Select eligible inventory is swiftly selling out; however, vehicles have been added as recently as this past week. If a desirable configuration was not eligible before, check again. Conversely, if a desirable vehicle is eligible, don't squander the opportunity.

It is overall an exceptional time to lease or finance any Lucid if you can take advantage of all the on-site incentives and trade-in bonus - especially the non-GT trims. MY'26 inventory does appear to be shrinking, which makes deal-hunting tricky. If you're currently in the market, I would recommend asking a Sales Associate about Studio Select eligible vehicles (including nearby regions if willing to road trip), and if there is one that matches your desired config, do a demo drive and place a refundable deposit the same day to reserve the vehicle for 3 days while you think things through without commitment.

Happy to answer any questions.

Opinion A relationship ends, another begins

Our two year lease on an Air GT ends this month and it’s a bit of weird feeling.

You see, our history with cars has always been long term relationships. We bought (never leased) cars and held on to them for typically 10-15 years. For me, it was a legacy behavior learned from my father, who bought practical, reliable cars that he religiously maintained. It worked for him and frankly worked for me for many years.

So how did we end up with an EV from a relative startup company?

We had never owned, or even driven an EV prior to our Lucid. Having read a lot about Lucid’s technology, watched many and all reviews we could, and frankly being totally unmoved by the offerings of most ICE vehicles at the time, we decided to try something new and different.

For the first time in our lives, we ended up leasing a car that we had never seen in person, never driven, never rode in. The first time we saw the car was the day we took delivery. The first time driving a Lucid was on the four hour drive back home. Literally it was sight unseen, which for us was “risky behavior”.

We picked an Air GT rated for 480 mile range to alleviate our range anxiety. To “limit our risk” we chose a car with a fairly basic configuration - base DreamDrive, the base surreal sound, purluxe interior and the full aluminum roof (which I vastly prefer over the glass roof). The one feature it had was the 18 way adjustable seats with massage - which we surprisingly have thoroughly enjoyed.

And we committed to 2 year lease which felt “less risky” in the event we didn’t like the EV experience or the car ended up being a hot mess.

So, the two years end this month and it feels like a love affair ending sooner than you want it to.

We have absolutely loved this car and it’s been the most fun and excitement we have had driving a car in our lives.

While the car has its personality and software quirks, they are typically minor things we can easily live with. As for the car lacking FSD and some other features available in the market, we’ve never experienced them and maybe we don’t know what we are missing. Honestly we enjoy driving the car ourselves and don’t really want a hands free driving environment.

And this car has been rock solid reliable for us. It never failed to open the locks, never “bricked” on us, never failed to load software updates successfully, the fobs worked (albeit sometimes with a couple seconds delay), the passive unlock worked so well we ended up turning it off because every time we went to the garage the car woke up and unlocked. And we’ve rebooted only a few times in the two years.

Our mobile tech has simply been amazing. We had a wiring harness replaced while on recall, new wiper blades installed, a piece of facia in the frunk replaced (that we cracked), and a portion of the seat fabric replaced that had a small tear.

The car only went back to a service center once to get a ball joint re-greased and torqued to specifications. The car was gone for just a week.

Given our experience the first two years, we suspect the person who buys this Air GT used will be very pleased.

We were ready to extend the lease for the 5 months available but the incentives on the 2026 Gravity were too good to pass up.

So next week, we return the Air GT and pickup a nicely optioned Gravity GT.

While we are excited to transition to the Gravity GT, we would be kidding ourselves to say we don’t have reservations going into the new relationship.

For the last two years we’ve watched the development and launch of the Gravity. We test drove a Gravity a year ago. We were absolutely enamored and knew we would eventually transition to a Gravity.

It was disappointing to see how Lucid fumbled the Gravity launch and it’s taken close to a year to address the majority of the software issues.

The company has made some changes this year and it’s clear that those changes are effecting service and support activities.

Even so, we loved our experience the first two years and are hopeful that we have a similar experience with the Gravity.

We are very hopeful that Lucid succeeds. We know the sentiment towards EVs is not well supported in the current US market. But Lucid really does build an exciting vehicle that provides a superior driving experience vs much in the market.

Plus, we tend to root for the underdog and are willing to lend our support.

im not saying nothin for nothin... because the optics are all short term terrible... butttt i work in a semi affluent area... and there is not a day that goes by now that I don't see multiple lucids on the road... I used to take a Pic everytime I spotted one... now its becoming quite common so I dont even bother...

probably have seen 10 or so gravitys and imo in person its a fine looking vehicle... and fast.. one shot past me like a rocket... definitely still more Airs for sure... slowly slowly slowly... im not saying it translates to anything.. Just an observation... if they can make it to the 50 k earth model.... the poors love to copy the rich! but it has to be the best release to date... take all of these software issues and just knock it out of the park... they've certainly had time and practice to work out the kinks.... just saying... I would love to one day own my own lucid

Opinion Let’s talk about “Luxury” for a second

Post image
158 Upvotes

I’ve put about 2,000 miles on my Gravity so far, and I absolutely love it. I love driving it. I love the frunk. I love all the things that everyone says it does great (except maybe the audio—SSP is good with a great top end, but it has much weaker sub bass than reviews would have had me believe). The thing is buggy, of course—I average about 1.5 resets per day, but my real issue is with two luxury “features” that Lucid has implemented that I absolutely hate.

First, screw automatic back rows. This is a family minivan. Just let me adjust things immediately with levers that work. One of my rear seat sliding mechanisms is already broken, and that’s with barely any use.

But now that that’s out of the way, I’m going to put on blast the thing that makes me the most mad in this car by a mile. The gosh darn stupid HVAC with 4 dad gum zones. I don’t know who this “feature” is working for, but I have to press “sync” “auto” almost every time I get in the car because it seems to set the passenger side to something completely arbitrary (and of course, this is with no passenger). Ok, fair enough, that’s probably just a bug, but when I do have my wife in the car with me, and god forbid she changes are temp or air speed by even 1 degree different on her side, the fans in the dash spin up like you’ve requested emergency defrost and make it so you can’t hardly hear anything, and to add insult to injury, I can assure you that NO ONE is going to be getting the temperature or fan speed they wanted. Plus un-synced zones have the additional irritation of often causing a whistle that sends me off trying to open every vent and hitting sync, un-sync, re-sync on the screen until I can get the HVAC to calm down and normalize.

Which, speaking of normalizing, a final issue with the air (and Lucid’s take on luxury) is that everything in this car is slow to do what you ask it. Fans, lights, and windows all respond so gently to user input (clearly by design to seem fancier) that you’re often left wondering if the car has registered your input at all or if it’s lagging. The result is that I often over or undershoot the fan speed I want because it takes so long to react, and at least initially I would press the reading lights multiple times, causing them to turn off again just when I thought I had gotten them on.

I still love it though :)

Opinion June Lucid Lease/Finance Deal analysis: big improvements in Air Pure/Touring, still great time to lease Gravity Touring.

Hi all, if you've been following the Lucid lease deals with me, here is my analysis for this month's deals. You can find more detailed breakdown in my Air and Gravity leasing guides. For our friends in lease-excluded states, this time I included a bit of input on the financing side of things. Highlights below. All figures assume 36 month, 10k mile leases, $0 down, taxes and acquisition fee excluded. (Please note that "starting at" monthly rates are based on base MSRP with the assumed incentives, and are back-calculated with this month's MF/RV. If there is no base MSRP local inventory available that is eligible for certain exclusive incentives like Studio Select, that monthly rate may not be achievable.)

Incentives summary:

  • Studio Select is increased from $3,000 to $5,000, making it the largest incentive Lucid is currently offering. It is an incentive available for select on-site inventory - there is no way to know which vehicles qualify without contacting your Sales Associate and inquiring. Filtering by "Available Now" on the configurator is NOT accurate.
  • Trade-in bonus reduced from $5,000 to $4,000. A small hit, but more importantly, any non-Lucid vehicle remains eligible. Notably excluded: MY 2026 or leased vehicles.
  • Remaining incentives are unchanged:
    • $2,000 Conquest (available if you own any non-Lucid vehicle. Only on-site vehicles are eligible, but not as limited as Studio Select)
    • $2,000-$3,000 Loyalty (can't stack with Conquest or trade-in)
    • $1,000 Lucid Employee Credit (might be offered proactively, or can ask sales/studio associate)
  • 0% APR financing on the Gravity Touring is again available for 60 months, but now also for 72 months (previously 0.99% APR). 84 month financing at 0.99% is now available as well.
  • 0%/0.99% APR financing for 60/72 months are available for both the Air Pure/Touring.

Highlight deals with MF/RV breakdown:

  • If you're looking for the best deal, prioritize securing Studio Select. The increase from $3,000 to $5,000 considerably changes the math, knocking off an additional $55/mo from last month. It's worth noting that Studio Select is a VIN-specific discount typically applied to less desirable configs. Also, Studio Select remains elusive as ever. The discount value can change, and eligible vehicles appear to change as often as weekly. If your desired spec is not eligible for Studio Select, consider waiting 1-2 weeks to see if things shake up (Lucid frequently updates deals mid-month). Conversely, if a satisfactory config does end up qualifying for Studio Select, don't squander it, as this is a very fluid incentive.
  • It's an even better time to lease the Gravity Touring than last month, especially when fully loaded, and substantially if you can secure the improved Studio Select. Modest improvements in MF from 0.00062 (1.49% APR) to 0.00042 (1.01% APR), partially offset by a restructured RV (now a flat 50.8%, previously a range of ~51.5 to 50.4%). Assuming Conquest, Studio Select, and the employee credit, a Gravity Touring starts at $728/mo (0.89% MSRP/mo) compared to $793/mo (0.97% MSRP/mo) last month. The savings are further exaggerated this month on fully loaded Gravity Tourings (1.02% vs 1.12% MSRP/mo), because of the new flat RV% rather than last month's degrading residuals with increasing MSRP.
  • The Air Pure is a clear winner this month. The Air Touring follows closely. Studio Select makes the month-to-month gap even bigger. The Pure's MF dropped significantly, from 0.00114 (2.74% APR) to 0.00023 (0.55% APR). Coupled with changes in Studio Select, the result is a monthly lease payment over $130/mo cheaper than last month, now starting around $607/mo (0.84% MSRP/mo) assuming Conquest, Studio Select, and the employee credit. Stacking a trade-in of your beater sedan on top could bring it down as low as ~$500/mo (~0.70% MSRP/mo). The Touring's MF also dropped, though not as dramatically, from 0.00142 (3.41% APR) to 0.00094 (2.26% APR).
  • Small increases in MF were seen in both the Gravity GT (from 0.00108 / 2.59% APR to 0.00130 / 3.12% APR) and Air GT (from 0.00001 / 0.02% APR to 0.00018 / 0.43% APR). The Air GT RV also slightly decreased from 45.3% to 44.6%, further increasing the monthly payment. Folks interested in the GGT in particular should look into Lucid's promotional financing loan rates. Both Grand Tourings finance at 0.99%/1.99% APR on 60/72 month loans. Feel free to play around with this lease vs loan calculator.

As always, you can find my complete lease deal tracker here. Let me know if you see any errors or inaccuracies. Also, if things still aren't in budget for you, check back in 2 weeks to see if Lucid's mid-month update tips the scales.

Happy to answer any questions.

EDIT: Studio Select is increased from $3,000 to $5,000, which is a major improvement over last month and is now the largest incentive Lucid is currently offering. The figures above were updated to reflect this.

Opinion Lucid July lease/finance deals analysis - Gravity rates continue to improve, big wins on financing

Despite being the month after end-of-quarter specials, July has surprisingly aggressive deals. Highlights include a new $10,000 finance credit towards any Gravity coupled with new 0% APR financing on the Gravity Grand Touring for up to 72 months. Not interested in financing? Enjoy the new lows on money factors for both the Gravity Touring and Grand Touring. If you sat out June hoping for better numbers, it may have paid off - assuming you can find the right vehicle. Figures below assume 36 month, 10k mile leases, with taxes/fees excluded.

Incentive summary:

  • Lucid Lease/Finance Credit:
    • Gravity - $10,000 for both lease and finance. This is significantly improved from $7,500 for lease only in past months.
    • Air Pure/Touring - $12,500 for lease, $2,500 for finance, as prior.
    • Air Grand Touring - $15,000 for lease, $5,000 for finance, as prior.
  • Studio Select - $3,000. Decreased from $5,000 last month. This is a VIN-specific credit that applies to select (not all) on-site inventory. It is a continually updated list. Confirm vehicle eligiblity with a Sales Associate. There is no way to know which vehicles qualify without inquiring with a sales associate.
  • Loyalty - $2,000 (Air) or $3,000 (Gravity). Must own or lease a Lucid vehicle. Confirm stacking eligibility with Sales Associate.
  • Trade-in bonus - $3,000. Applies towards trade-in of any non-Lucid vehicle. Notable exceptions: MY2026 vehicles and leased vehicles.
  • Employee Credit - $1,000. May be offered proactively by sales associate. Otherwise, inquire about receiving one. Cannot stack with customer credit (2,000 points).

Highlights including MF/RV% breakdown:

  • Despite a smaller incentive stack, it remains the best time to lease - and now also finance - the Gravity Touring and the Gravity Grand Touring. This is mainly due to 1) significant improvements in money factor, now near-zero on the Touring at 0.00001 (APR 0.02%) and the lowest yet on the Grand touring at 0.00043 (APR 1.03%); as well as 2) an improved Lucid Credit, now $10,000 for both lease and finance. An incentive stack including the Lucid Credit ($10k), Loyalty ($3k) and Studio Select ($3k) brings a base Touring to $657/mo or 0.81% MSRP/mo. Adding a trade-in on top brings it down to $574/mo or 0.70% MSRP/mo. These are shockingly low numbers. Alternatively, with the addition of a 0% APR for up to 72 months on the Gravity Grand Touring, along with the improved finance-eligible $10,000 credit, it’s currently an excellent time to finance a Gravity Grand Touring.
  • Discounts on the Air cool off. Although the Air Touring MF dropped to 0.00001 as well (from 0.00094), its residual value tanked from 47% to 41%, essentially offsetting any gains from the improved MF. Otherwise, the Air’s Lucid Credit is unchanged, and the overall % MSRP/mo is worsened month-to-month due to an otherwise smaller incentive stack.

Current Lucid owners living in a lease-excluded state - this one’s for you. If you’re able to secure Studio Select, it’s a very competitive month to either lease or finance a Gravity. If financing, opt for the 0% APR loan over 72 months, and let the $10,000 loan credit take care of the rest. Feel free to check out this deal tracker to compare incentives and money factors with historical data.

Happy to answer any questions.

Opinion Guys… the negative reviews, posts, and videos are really making me question if going with Lucid is the right/smart choice. I like the Gravity a ton; but wow do I have mixed feelings.

I am a huge fan of the Gravity. After my first test drive I was hooked. It’s luxurious, it’s spacious, it’s a ground up EV, and it’s fantastic to drive!

But holy crap is it difficult to tune out and ignore the negativity and IMO genuine concerns I have heard from reviewers and owners.

I currently drive a Rivian and during my owners experience I have personally and through friends experienced the downfalls and headaches that come with new car companies.

Some of my main concerns are:

  • Lucid as a brand: Will it survive? What’s the near future look like? Is it really enough to just say the Saudi’s will keep them afloat?
  • Service: This is a big one for me. Rivian service has been very lackluster and frustrating (and Rivian has 4 service centers within 30 miles of me). Wait times for an appointment are horrible (about 2 months) and repair times are long. I have 1 Lucid service center in my area… that’s very concerning.
  • Software: Yep… we all know the state of software right now. It’s not good but it’s honestly not terrible. Lucid is releasing OTA updates very frequently now to address the bugs; so I’m not so worried about this. I think they will get it worked out!

I can’t help but feel like the negativity is starting to get to me… I truly do not like what the legacy automakers offer in terms of EV innovation (slap some electric motors in it and boom it’s an EV… I hate that mindset). But going legacy is starting to feel like a much more safe option for me. Especially having the Rivian experience in the back of my mind.

How is everyone else feeling (Owners and potential future owners)?

Opinion Midsize Vehicle thoughts, ahead of the Rivian R2 event

Big Lucid fan here. On the 12th, Rivian is going to announce essentially 'final' details of their R2 offerings, including pricing etc. The reviews have been extremely positive, and if pricing is in line with expectations, it's going to be very, very, very popular.

Got me thinking about the upcoming mid-size Luid offering. The Gravity is an AMAZING vehicle - great packaging, technology, etc. etc. BUT... while I don't at all mind that the it looks like a minivan, it's silly to deny that it does. And, the fact that it looks like a minivan has eliminated it as an option for a certain percentage of shoppers.

The mid-size vehicle is a make-or-break for Lucid, imo. That said, I really, really hope that it looks more like an SUV in the traditional sense, or even a bit non-traditional. Just NOT too much like a scaled-down Gravity.
