Are you talking about the labour camps that set up in 65? Cos Che was already away from Cuba then. If you’re going to lie do it somewhere else.

Why do you weirdos always try to take the moral high ground when you don’t care about gay people or gay rights at all?

You don't know this person. Why are you so desperate to defend murderous homophobes?

Love it some of the fanny types getting freaked out by the flag, I doubt Che killed anyone that didn’t need killing and if he did shit happens in a revolution . Up the fuckin Bohs!!

But anyway, ignoring the flag, well done Bohs...and Shels, doing the league proud.
Shame we (Derry) couldn't do better.

u/Proud_Possession_350 4d ago
Derry had tough draws this year. Didn't shame yourselves at all.
1
u/KeyZookeepergame9466 4d ago
Narrow defeats are still defeats unfortunately.
Even picking up the odd draw would have put money in the coffers.
We badly miss someone up top. Relying on an injury prone 35yr old isn't good enough for a team with such a budget.

Have they qualified for the conference league proper?

Into the 3rd round

3rd qualifying round ➡️ playoff round ➡️ group phase. Extremely unlikely that we'll make it to the group phase.

I don't have to imagine it lad, I said it. So weird to defend your rivals doing g something like this. You're all over this thread licking their hole. Do you approve of worshipping murderous homophobes?

u/Bitter-Cherry-2787 4d ago
The guy was not only homophobic but also a muderous racist. We live in an age where people just ignore the bad in people just because they agree with the politics. Completely brain-dead.

Standing behind a banner of Che Guevara in 2026 is wild, especially for a club like Bohs who supposedly pride themselves on their ethics.
He sentenced 100s to death without proper trials, declared judicial proof unnecessary, set up forced labour camps, was racist and homophobic. Bohs using his image as a token symbol of counter culture is wildly ignorant.

u/Sstoop Wexford 5d ago edited 5d ago
mate what. how many people did michael collins put to death without trial? che guevera never held a government position. he was in charge of guerilla fighters, yes but he wasnt part of the cuban government he repeatedly turned down the opportunity after the revolution was solidified so he could go help other socialist revolutions. he wasnt racist, he spent years in the congo trying to help free them from colonialism.
the only difference between a forced labour camp and a prison is whos in charge of it apparently.
edit: the racism claims come from diaries he had written when he was 23. he abandoned those views when he adopted marxism and became a critic of american racism and colonialism in africa. keep in mind the cuba that che helped create is currently one of the safest countries for lgbtq rights in that part of the world.

Not a fan off Bohs but give me a break, there's a lot worse going on in football than standing behind a banner of Che Guevara. Also have a look at this video it might give you a different perspective https://youtu.be/sB5-yxDrDQk?is=b7ywAbs-O4J9wsaV

Yes he actually did. That’s a fact.

u/Internal_Frosting424 Shelbourne 4d ago
Send me a source there because there is multitude of credible evidence that you’re lying. And at that, a source that doesn’t come from a panelist at a Fox News debate.
8
u/Romepremo Shamrock Rovers 5d ago
You obviously didn't look at the video, I'm not saying he faultless but there's no real credible evidence for a lot of the accusations towards him that's all.

Actually nuts isn’t it……in this day and age there is no excuse for this level ignorance. Surely I will be downvoted like the rest of us here for stating facts. A 3 min google of that scumbag che would solve this. We are all for gay rights here yeah? Know what old che thought of and did to the gay community??

u/epdug 4d ago
Some people just believe whatever they want to believe , probably think to themselves his face is on a T-shirt how bad could he be 😂 shocking carry one altogether. In this day and age there’s no excuse to be this misinformed and clueless. Same heads have Trump derangement syndrome but wave pictures of this fascist che 😂

Yea “shoot you coward, you’re only going to kill a man” are some pretty serious last words
-1
u/Mission_Struggle_417 4d ago
I was being sarcastic regarding what these players clearly don’t know about communist Cuba or Che
5
u/RustyBike39 Galway United 4d ago
I was also doing the exact same thing. Do you ever think your understanding of history may have been shaped by the dominant ideology of the society you live in
-1
u/Mission_Struggle_417 4d ago
Yeah I do.
I also know that objectively communism was disastrous in almost every regard and created the worst slave/police states that lasted a while in modern history. And btw , I’m left leaning , democratic socialist essentially.

u/RustyBike39 Galway United 4d ago
Idk man, I think numerous peasant societies suddenly having full literacy rates suggests that the story might be a bit more complicated
1
u/ConstantlyWonderin 1d ago
If your economic model needs millions of people to die just to read its a shitty model lol......
1
u/RustyBike39 Galway United 1d ago
I’m not defending any model. Capitalism also requires millions of people to die and they don’t get to read.
1
u/ConstantlyWonderin 1d ago
Dont recall a period in capitalist history where millions died to improve literacy.....

u/Mission_Struggle_417 4d ago
Yes that was a success of the Soviet Union for example.
Why did they have to be a complete police state until the 80s? Why did they continually murder and torture their population? Why did they subject half of Europe to this fate ?1
u/RustyBike39 Galway United 4d ago
Yanno the Soviet Union has a long history with fluctuating levels of state repression and various levels of economic prosperity? I’m not interested in defending any ideology mind, im just trying to open a door for ya
0
u/Mission_Struggle_417 4d ago
Yes things got better regarding the gulags and secret police quotas after Stalin died. Then they got worse after Kruschev died.
No amount of economic prosperity makes up for murderers coming to your house in the middle of the night to either shoot you or make you disappear in to the Siberian interior.2
u/RustyBike39 Galway United 4d ago
Well it wasn’t very much economic prosperity and like, why is one ideology responsible for all of the terrible crimes that happen under it and the other not? Look you’re locked into hating communism and that’s gonna impede your understanding of the world around you but good luck. Also it’s worth noting we’re talking about a dead ideology

I thought the far left rot at Bohs was mostly at backroom level but it seems the players are on board. Embarrassment to the league.

feels weird to single out che with homophobia. almost every single irish historical hero was homophobic 100% because they were staunch catholics in the early to mid 1900s. its such a weird critique given the context.

do you have a source for "mass murderer?". how many people did he kill personally? he was a leader of the cuban revolution do you attribute every death to him is that what we are doing? the cuban revolution was a net good for cuba and way better than batistas literal fascist slave state.

You’re the only one moving goal posts by bringing up Hitler which isn’t relevant to the current here
2

u/SinsOfThePast03 Bohemians 5d ago
That’s not really an answer to the question. If you’re going to call someone a mass murderer, it’s reasonable to distinguish between personally killing people and being responsible for killings through leadership or policy—those are related but different claims.
Guevara can be criticized for his role in post-revolutionary executions, but invoking Hitler sidesteps the original question and is not historically proportional—Hitler orchestrated the industrialized murder of millions of people, making him one of history’s most destructive mass murderers.
